Chapter 523 The Lost Earring

Chapter 523 The Lost Earring

Realizing this, Alvin immediately took a cab to Sunflower headquarters.

He thought it would be a hassle, requiring a lot of persuasion.

Unexpectedly, after hearing Alvin's purpose, the receptionist directly dialed Luann's number.

"Hello, what's up?" A female voice came from the other end of the phone.

Before the receptionist could speak, Alvin already heard the voice leaking from the landline.

His eyes instantly turned red, and he lunged forward, grabbing the receiver.

The sadness that had built up over the past few days erupted, like a lost child finally finding home.

He cried out loudly, his voice high-pitched and heart-wrenching.

"Luann! Do you remember me?"

Luann was stunned for a moment, even taking her phone down to check the caller ID.

"Alvin?" Luann's voice carried a hint of surprise.

Alvin responded with a muffled "hmm," his face full of resentment.

"Why are you at Sunflower?" Luann asked, then felt something was off and added, "Elodie's shoot ended a long time ago, why haven't you come back yet?"

For a moment, Alvin didn't know how to explain this headache-inducing situation.

Who would have thought that pursuing a woman would turn out like this!

Not only did he not see Elodie, but he also almost starved to death outside!

"Luann, let's not talk about this now. Just get them to give me some money, I'll come back in a couple of days, and we can talk face-to-face when I get to the Upper West Side!"

Alvin's mind was filled with thoughts of going home.

This time, the ordeal had been a bit too much for him, and he felt he wouldn't dare to wander around for the next six months!

Luann nodded, "Okay, I'll have them transfer the money to you later."

"Don't transfer the money!" Alvin got anxious immediately, thinking about how his phone, wallet, and bank cards had all been stolen, making him grit his teeth in anger. "I don't even have a phone on me right now! I need cash!"

Luann pondered for a moment, "Then I'll have your big brother send a private jet to pick you up. You can stay at Sunflower for now."

"Okay!" Alvin breathed a sigh of relief.

After all the trouble outside, he could finally go home.

With this good news, Alvin hurried to tell Emily.

However, Emily had no reaction, still seemingly immersed in the news of Trevor's death.

"Emily, come with me. When we get to the Upper West Side, I'll protect you and won't let anyone bully you!" Alvin genuinely cared for Emily.

Emily was thin and frail, a little girl who should have been cherished and protected, yet she had suffered for so many years.

Now that Trevor was gone, there was no reason for Emily to stay here any longer.

Moreover, before Trevor passed away, he had asked Alvin to take good care of Emily.

Emily's eyes were vacant, her expression somewhat confused. She shook her head and quickly gestured with her hands.

I won't go, I want to stay with Grandpa.

Alvin couldn't understand Emily's gestures, but he felt her determination.

"Emily, your grandpa wouldn't want to see you like this."

But no matter what he said, Emily still didn't agree to go with him.

In the end, it was the people from the slums who persuaded him, saying that Emily was too young and needed time to process everything. They suggested Alvin give her some time and come back to get her in half a month.

Alvin thought that made sense.

So he took some money from Sunflower, gave some to Emily and the people there, asking them to take care of her.

When Alvin got off the plane, he was teary-eyed.

Upon arriving at The Curtis Manor, he found everyone there.

He was immediately moved.

It turned out that the elders didn't dislike him; deep down, they still cared about him.

They must have gathered here to welcome him back!

Alvin didn't even take off his shoes and rushed directly to the people on the living room sofa.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Mom, Dad, I..."

Before he could finish, a slipper was thrown at him, hitting him on the forehead.

He was stunned.

"Dad?" Alvin asked, confused.

"Don't you know to take off your shoes when you come in? Who taught you manners? You've been out playing for so long, getting more and more unruly?" Charles said.

Alvin was taken aback, "Playing? I almost..."

"Enough, stop talking. Pick up my slipper and go change your shoes," Charles interrupted him.

Alvin looked at him resentfully.

"Dad, stop pretending you don't care about me. You all gathered here to discuss me, didn't you?"

Charles looked surprised.

"You brat, what are you talking about? It's your grandma's birthday soon! We're discussing the arrangements!"

Alvin: "Am I actually adopted?"

Luann cleared her throat, trying to smooth things over.

"Alvin seems to have lost some weight."

Alvin looked at her pitifully.

Finally, someone noticed!

Charles glanced at him sideways, "Losing weight is good. He usually eats too much, sits in bars all night without moving, and all the weight goes to his belly!"

Alvin cried out, "Fine! I'll leave, okay?"

This house is really unbearable!

The birthday arrangements were left entirely to Luann. She was efficient and quickly designed the scene, getting people to start setting it up.

At the same time, she began sending out invitations in the Upper West Side.

Soon, it was the day of the birthday.

Ally was dragged out of bed early by Juliet and went to an expensive spa for a facial and body treatment.

They also bought a beautiful, eye-catching evening gown with sparkling material that shone under the lights.

Unsurprisingly, Ally would be the most dazzling person tonight!

"So beautiful!" Juliet praised, "Myron will be mesmerized when he sees you looking this stunning!"

Ally raised her chin, twirling happily, "I think so too. Let's go!"

Soon, the two took a cab to the hotel.

Meanwhile, Luann had just changed her clothes and put on her necklace and earrings, starting her final round of inspection.

After checking everything, Luann went to meet Myron.

Myron frowned, "Where's your earring?"

"Hmm?" Luann instinctively touched her ear and found the left one still there, but the right one was missing.

"Oh no! It must have fallen somewhere. I put them on myself today, and the back clasp was hard to secure."

Myron's gaze fell on the red carpet in the hall, and he said without hesitation, "Find Luann's earring."
