Chapter 509 Soundproofing Effect
Chapter 509 Soundproofing Effect
The bedroom was filled with a pleasant, sweet incense.
The bathroom door opened, and Luann, who had just finished her shower, slowly shuffled out in her slippers, haphazardly drying her hair with a white towel.
She yawned, her beautiful eyes welling up with a bit of tears.
It was as if a layer of fine starlight had spread across the rippling surface of a nighttime lake.
Just as she lay down on the bed, Myron walked in and saw her immediately.
"Your hair's still wet, and you're already lying down?"
Myron frowned slightly, his tone carrying a hint of reproach.
"Sleeping like this will give you a headache in the morning."
He stood by the bed and reached out to pull Luann's arm.
Luann hugged his leg tightly, rubbing her cheek against it.
Acting spoiled.
"I'm so tired, I don't want to move."
Myron sighed helplessly, glancing at her reddened little feet, her neatly trimmed, round, pink toenails curling slightly, seemingly uncomfortable.
He had only been in the study for about ten minutes, so it seemed Luann hadn't taken a bath.
Without a word, Myron changed into clean pajamas, went into the bathroom, and filled a foot bath with hot water.
Then, he adjusted Luann's position and placed her feet into the water.
Luann whimpered softly.
Myron moved to the other side, placed a dry towel on the bed, and let her rest her head on it to avoid soaking the sheets.
He plugged in the hairdryer, adjusted the temperature and wind speed.
Kneeling on one knee on the bed, he lowered his head and began to dry her hair.
His expression was serious, his long, distinct fingers weaving through Luann's smooth black hair, the contrasting colors creating a beautiful scene.
Luann stared at him, somewhat dazed.
Myron's features were handsome, noble, and elegant, with a particularly defined jawline.
From this angle, Luann could even see his Adam's apple moving slightly.
She couldn't help but reach out and touch it.
Myron frowned slightly, his magnetic voice slowly resonating.
"Luann, you're teasing me."
Luann chuckled softly, "No."
Myron squinted his eyes and, in a playful attack, pinched her cheek.
Luann pouted unhappily.
But Myron kissed her.
After drying her hair and soaking her feet for a while longer, Myron carefully dried her feet with a towel and tucked her back into the covers.
"Much better," Luann sighed.
Sleepiness overcame her, and she soon fell into a deep sleep.
Most of the lights in the mansion were turned off.
The faint creak of a door opening sounded particularly loud in the quiet night.
A head peeked in, a pair of large, curious eyes darting around.
After ensuring no one was around, it retreated.
Turning back, it spoke to Eddy.
"Let's go, let's go, it looks like everyone is asleep."
Holly said, turning her head back to the original position.
But she saw a pair of resentful eyes staring at her through the crack in the door.
Holly's piercing scream echoed throughout the mansion.
Eddy instinctively pulled Holly behind him and threw a punch.
But his fist hit the door.
Eddy's mouth twitched.
Adolph reopened the door and asked softly, "Does it hurt?"
Eddy's words almost squeezed out through gritted teeth.
"Not at all."
He silently retracted his hand, the knuckles turning red.
Holly jumped forward, "Adolph! Why are you scaring us in the middle of the night!"
"You don't come back late at night, and you don't allow me to worry about you?" Adolph said with a straight face.
Holly didn't believe him at all.
"I think you just wanted to see who my boyfriend is, right?"
Adolph patted her shoulder, "It's good that you know. But since you already have a boyfriend, you should temper your attitude a bit, so you don't scare away such a handsome guy."
Holly snorted, linking her arm with Eddy's.
"None of your business."
They went inside, placing Eddy's suitcase in the room.
Holly went to the kitchen to make Eddy a drink.
Adolph plopped down next to Eddy.
"Hello, Adolph," Eddy said, behaving particularly well.
Adolph looked at him, hesitating to speak.
"Sir, I can't bear to see you suffer under Holly. How about I introduce you to a few more?"
Holly came out just in time to hear this, gritting her teeth.
"Vicious! So vicious! No wonder you're single! Your ideas are more vicious than others!"
Adolph pushed his glasses up with a smile.
"Can't help it, jealousy makes people ugly."
Holly placed the tea in front of Eddy, urging, "Drink up, so we can go upstairs and go to bed!"
Adolph rested his chin on his hand, "No worries, you guys can do whatever you want. This house has good soundproofing."
"Adolph!" Holly screamed, wanting to pull his hair.
Adolph ran.
Holly chased.
These two had been at odds since childhood, almost always fighting.
Adolph stood at the corner of the table, smiling at Eddy.
"Once you're here, you're family. No need to be polite. In the first cabinet on the right side of the bed, you'll find what you need."
Holly looked shocked, "What's going on? Did you put that there?"
"Good sister, no need to thank your brother too much," Adolph nodded.
Eddy looked at these two troublemakers, rubbing his temples in frustration.
He finally understood where Holly got her personality from...
Inside the room, Holly threw her suit jacket onto the bed and collapsed onto it.
Eddy pulled her up.
"Go take a shower."
"No."
Eddy raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you don't want to?"
"No!"
Eddy chuckled, opening the drawer and indeed finding many boxes, some with two pieces, some with ten...
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing, old man?" Holly watched as he opened a box and took out a square item.
"You, you, you... don't do anything crazy!"
Eddy smiled, walking over to Holly, easily picking her up and heading to the bathroom.
Morning came.
Luann and Myron yawned as they opened the door.
Downstairs, they found Adolph had already prepared breakfast.
Luann sat at the table, looking listless.
Adolph gave her a concerned look, "What's wrong? You look uncomfortable."
Luann glared at him resentfully.
"You have the nerve to ask? It's all your fault."
Adolph looked particularly wronged.
Luann opened her mouth, finding it hard to speak.
But Myron reminded her, "Next time, watch fewer movies late at night."
Adolph suddenly understood and couldn't help but laugh.
"By the way, last night, Holly and her man came over. They're staying in the room next to yours."
Upstairs, Holly, who had just woken up, suddenly sneezed.
