Chapter 133 – Willow

*****1 Month Later*****

I took a deep breath as I stared in the mirror as the woman added another pin to my hair. The last month has been a whirlwind, as soon as Ogden proposed he shared a bunch of wedding planner options with me. He said that he didn’t care who I wanted just as long as they delivered the wedding of my dreams.

He and Sophia have been on me to make sure that I don’t see the price tags of any of the things for the wedding. They instructed the wedding planner to remove any and all pricing before she presented the wedding options in front of me.

Between trying to plan a wedding and having morning sickness I felt like I didn’t have time for anything else. This was the first time that I felt I had a moment to myself where I could breath and no one was bothering me.

It was a day of pampering; I had some sparkling juice since I couldn’t drink alcohol. My nails were done, my make up was done, and Sophia was next to me getting her make up applied. It was the first time she hasn’t opened her mouth to yell at the wedding planner. It was serene.

Sophia knew what I wanted and made sure that I got it. Ogden would help out when he had a moment, but I told him to focus on the company since I already took a lot of time from him. Thinking about him standing at the end of the aisle sent butterflies through my stomach.

I was still shocked that he loved me for real and has since he first saw me. Just to think, what would have happened if he actually told me back then. We would have had a lot more time together. But I was grateful for the time we had going forward.

I had to yell at him because every time I turned around he was there with another present for me or the baby. I put my foot down when he purchased this crazy expensive crib with added sensory applications. I was afraid to touch it let alone put our baby in it.

I could tell he was excited, and he wanted to make sure that he provided everything for us. It was almost as if he was trying to prove his love, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to tell him he didn’t need to buy my stuff. I liked it when we spent time together in the evening watching reality television.

Ogden insisted on attending all of the doctor’s appointments, no matter what. I told him to let me know when would work best for him and he has an ongoing appointment in his calendar. I smiled at the thought of him tearing up when he heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time. He really wanted me and the baby.

I looked over at Sophia, she looked worried. “What’s wrong?” My heart started to pound in my chest. “Is Ogden not going to show up?” Even after Ogden confessed his love to me, I still expected him to turn around and say, ‘never mind, you are so not worth it.’

Sophia furrowed her brows and looked at me. “What are you talking about?”

I batted at the hairstylist to stop what she was doing. “You look concerned. Did Ogden message you?” I leaned closer to her; I was on the verge of tears.

“Will, you need to stop worrying about that. He loves you more than anything and wouldn’t do that to you. So stop worrying about it.” Sophia bit her lip. She was doing that more and more and I knew she was keeping something from me.

“Then what is it?” I tried to take a few deep breaths to calm my heart, but it wasn’t slowing down.

“Can you give us a moment?” Sophia looked at the make up artist and hair stylist. They nodded at her and left the suite where we were getting ready. Sophia stared at me for a moment.

“Really! You are freaking me out.” She never looked this serious, and I wasn’t sure what to expect from her. She has been so emotional lately and I thought it was just because of helping me plan the wedding. I was a mess, not only was I planning a wedding, but I was pregnant, and my hormones were all over the place.

“Okay, I haven’t confirmed anything yet. But you have to promise to not say anything to anyone.” She said as she held out her pinky.

I quickly grabbed it, and pinky promised her. “What is it?”

She gave me a sly smile. “I’m pregnant.”

My eyes grew to saucers, and I stared at her. I had to take a moment to process what she just told me. I pointed a finger at her. “You’re…pregnant?” Tears welled up in my eyes.

“Yeah, I just found out the other day. I was throwing up randomly and it reminded me of when you found out, so I took a test. And they all came back positive.” She gave me a smile.

I jumped out of my chair and screamed. “This is so exciting.” I pulled Sophia into my arms. “Does Alan know?” Sophia and Alan have been hot and heavy since their first date. Whenever she came to work, she had this dreamy look that never left. She was in love, and I couldn’t be happier for her.

“Not yet. But I have an appointment on Monday to confirm and then I will tell him after.”

“Are you happy?” I wasn’t sure if Sophia even wanted a kids. One day she would say yes and then the next day she said she never wanted kids.

“Yeah, I’m really happy.” She gently touched her stomach. “I just hope Alan is on board.”

“Either way, if he isn’t I’m here for you. And can you believe it, we are both pregnant? They can grow up together!” I was so excited that we were pregnant together.

“It is crazy that we are both going to have kids around the same time. But you can’t say anything. I was going to tell you tomorrow, so as not to ruin your day.” She pursed her lips together.

“Are you kidding? This is the best news you could have given me. It is like a wedding gift!” I gave her a smile. “Just let me know if you need anything.”

“I should be saying that to you.” Sophia snorted.

The women who were working on us came back and finished our hair and make up. The butterflies were summersaulting in my stomach, and I was ready to put on the dress. I had to find one that could accommodate a stomach if it started to show.

“Where’s my mom?” I looked around the suite, but she was nowhere to be found. “I know she wants to help me get into the dress.” I walked to the adjoining door that went to her room and went in.

I heard moaning in the dark. My stomach dropped. What happens if there was something wrong with my mom. I searched for a light and flicked it on. The image in front of me had me frozen in place.

“Willow!” My mom yelled from the bed trying to cover her naked body up while she was still under Doctor Johnson.

I covered my eyes and turned away. “Sorry! I was just trying to find you and tell you that I’m putting on my dress and knew that you wanted to help.”

“Ok, I’ll be right out.”

“Sorry, Doctor Johnson.” I quickly ran out of the room and closed the door behind me. I stood on the other side of the door and took a few deep breaths. I knew that my mom and Doctor Johnson were seeing each other, I just didn’t know how elaborate their dating life was. In all honesty, I didn’t want to know.

I was still concerned about her heart even though she says she feels the healthiest that she has ever been. As soon as my mom was issued her discharge papers, Doctor Johnson asked her out. He said he couldn’t officially date a patient, but now that she was no longer his patient he could.

That information sent my mom over the moon. She seemed a little sad on her last day, slowly packing up her things and looking at the door. But when he came into the room she brightened up and eagerly accepted his date. Ever since then, they have been spending every moment they could together. I was happy for them.

My mom moved into my old apartment that Ogden kept paying for. He offered to get her a better apartment, but my mom emphatically declined and said that now she was better she was going to make her own way. She got a job as an assistant and has been the happiest I have ever seen her. She was able to work and when most people would complain, she flourished.

“What’s wrong?” Sophia ran up to me.

“I just…” I shook my head. I didn’t want to say anything, but I couldn’t keep it to myself. “I just saw my mom and Doctor Johnson getting it on.” I tried to hold back the laugh that was bubbling up.

“No way!” Sophia said with a laugh and covered her mouth.

My mom walked out of the room she was in adjusting the strap of her dress. She glared at me. “I taught you better, you should have knocked.”

“Sorry, mom. I didn’t expect to see you and Doctor Johnson…you know.” I giggled.

“You can call me Martin considering I’m dating your mom.” Doctor Johnson said buttoning his shirt. “I’m going to go down and see if they need help with setting up or something.”

My mom beamed at him. “Okay.” He leaned down and gave her a kiss then left us in the suite.

I opened the garment bag that held my dress. I was beyond excited. As soon as I saw it on the hanger in the store it was love at first sight. It was an empire waist dress, with the bodice covered in lace. The skirt of the dress had a couple layers of tulle that billowed out as I walked. It made it look like I was walking on clouds. The bottom was detailed in lace that matched the bodice.. The train was a few feet long that could be bustled for the reception. A small, jeweled belt looped around the waist.

Sophia and my mom went with me to try on wedding dresses. In all honesty the whole experience only lasted twenty minutes because this dress was the second one that I tried on. Everyone in the room was crying as soon as I walked out of the fitting room. And then the waterworks intensified as soon as they put a veil on my head.

I was already in love with Ogden, and I hoped that he liked my dress too. I wasn’t showing yet, so the wedding dress still fit perfectly. Each and every detail was perfect and as soon as the hair stylist put the veil on my head, I had to fight to keep the tears in.

“You look beautiful, Will.” Sophia was a crying mess, and I could only assume that her pregnancy hormones were partially to blame.

My mom walked up and pulled me into a hug. “The most beautiful bride ever.”

“Thanks.” I swallowed hard.

A knock came at the door. Sophia ran to open it, Gabe walked in.

He gave me a beaming smile. “Well, aren’t you a vision.” He gave me a once over. “I have come bearing gifts.” He pulled a box out of his inner jacket pocket. “Oggie told me to tell you that he cannot wait to see you walk down the aisle.”

He handed the box over to me and I opened it. In the box a note was laid on top. ‘After we say I do, it will be forever.’ I pulled the note out and there was a gorgeous diamond and sapphire necklace that matched the details of my engagement ring.

“Oh my god. This is beautiful.” I smiled down at the necklace.

“He was pretty proud of himself for thinking of getting you that.” Gabe said as he pulled on his tuxedo sleeve. “And he wanted me to point out that he came up with that idea himself.”

“Tell him, thank you. And can you give him this?” I handed him the box that I was waiting to give to Ogden until the right moment…and this felt like the right moment. Right before we say, ‘I do.’

“Your wish is my command.” He grabbed the box and left the suite.

“Thirty-minute warning!” The wedding planner ran into the room yelling. “Oh wow. You look gorgeous. I was half expecting you to still be getting your hair and make up done.”

I smiled at her. “Thank you. And nope. I don’t want to be late.” I offered her a glass of champagne which she reluctantly took but slung back. I knew she was frazzled, between Sophia yelling at her and Ogden being meticulous she needed it.

“Will, what was in the box?” Sophia asked.

“Just some memories that I wanted to share with him.” I smiled at my reflection. I was so ready to get married to Ogden. My excitement and nervousness had my heart fluttering. I was marrying Ogden Moore in only a few short minutes.
