Chapter 168 Argument
Steven looked at Nora's beautiful neck, leaning in close. "Let me kiss your neck."
"No, it'll leave a mark. People will see it," Nora said.
"It's fine. You're a married woman anyway. Having a hickey on your neck is perfectly normal," Steven said matter-of-factly, and kissed her neck.
Nora's legs went weak as she quietly protested, "Just one kiss."
"OK," Steven replied in a sexy voice, holding her tighter.
In the end, Steven kissed her twice.
Nora wanted to hit Steven. "I said one kiss, and you kissed me twice!"
"One more doesn't hurt. Besides, this mark shows that you're a married woman," Steven said with raised eyebrows, clearly in a good mood.
Nora didn't want to argue with him anymore.
Steven was full of twisted logic. He was such a rogue, always seizing every opportunity to tease Nora!
"Hello, who are you looking for?" Olivia's voice came from outside.
Hearing Olivia's voice, Nora said to Steven, "Someone's here. You wash your face first, I'll go check."
Nora had finished washing up.
"Okay." Steven loosened his arm from her waist, and she turned to go out.
The visitor was Elizabeth.
She had brought Lally with her, carrying several gift boxes, talking to Olivia at the door. "Are you Nora's Olivia? I'm Steven's grandmother."
"Mrs. York! Please come in." Olivia welcomed her in.
Elizabeth said, "I saw you on the livestream before. That mother-in-law of yours was way out of line, absolutely shameless!"
Olivia hadn't expected Elizabeth to be so trendy, actually watching livestreams.
But hearing Elizabeth say this, Olivia felt that Elizabeth was a kind person, and sat on the sofa to chat with her.
"Grandma!" Nora called out sweetly.
Elizabeth responded warmly.
Nora walked over, and Elizabeth took her hand, immediately noticing the hickey on her neck.
Elizabeth understood right away - their relationship as a couple had made a major breakthrough!
Steven said he wasn't interested in Nora! This was what he called not interested?
Elizabeth thought Steven was quite greedy!
"Nora, you and Steven have been intimate, right?" Elizabeth asked, looking at her face.
Nora's face turned so red she didn't dare lift her head. Why was everyone asking her this question? It was so embarrassing.
When Nora didn't answer, Olivia said with a smile, "Then most likely they already have."
Elizabeth was thrilled, saying with a beaming smile, "Exactly! How can a married couple sleep in separate rooms? You're sharing a bedroom now, right?"
Nora was very embarrassed but gathered her courage to say, "Yes, we're both staying in the master bedroom..."
"Wonderful!" Elizabeth was so happy she couldn't stop smiling. She had Lally bring over the gift boxes, all filled with expensive supplements.
She gave one box of nutritional supplements to Olivia.
Olivia immediately refused. "No need, Mrs. York. I'm fine now."
Lally held her back. "Mrs. York is giving it to you, just accept it."
"Alright then." Olivia accepted it, unable to refuse such generosity.
The remaining boxes, Elizabeth gave to Nora. "Nora, you're too thin. Take these supplements and make a little soup with them every day to nourish your body."
Just as Nora was considering how to refuse, Steven's voice came from behind her. "Accept them."
Steven told her to take them.
Nora turned around. He was standing in the hallway, his posture relaxed.
It was rare to see him looking so casual.
Nora was a bit mesmerized.
Elizabeth was also mesmerized. She felt that Steven was relaxed around Nora, unlike at the York Manor, where he always had a cold expression and an icy demeanor.
Nora placed the supplements in the cabinet in the living room.
Steven walked over and sat on the sofa. "Grandma, why did you come over?"
"To see you two." Elizabeth held Nora's hand and said kindly, "Now that your relationship is solid, shouldn't you start thinking about having a baby?"
Nora didn't dare speak. She glanced at Steven, wanting him to answer Elizabeth.
Steven said with a smile, "No rush. Nora says she wants to enjoy our time as a couple for a while longer."
Nora walked over and swatted Steven. How could he say that?
Making it sound like she was obsessed with their intimate life!
He was the one with the insatiable appetite!
Elizabeth watched Nora hit Steven - she was the first woman who dared to lay hands on Steven.
Elizabeth was delighted and stopped pushing them to have children. After all, they had just gotten married not long ago, and their relationship still needed time to develop.
To avoid the topic of having children, Nora quickly said, "Grandma, have you had breakfast? We just made breakfast here. Would you like to eat with us?"
"Sure." Elizabeth agreed immediately. "It's been a long time since I've had your cooking. I've missed it."
Nora helped Elizabeth over.
Several people sat around the dining table and had a lively breakfast together.
After eating, both Steven and Olivia had to go out.
Elizabeth wanted to stay for a while, with Nora keeping her company.
She started preparing the supplements.
She had originally picked up nutritional supplements, but Elizabeth gave Lally a look, and Lally quickly came over saying, "Mrs. Nora York, make this one."
Lally handed her a package of supplements that wasn't clearly labeled.
Nora said with a smile, "Lally, just call me Nora."
Lally said with a smile, "Okay, Nora. This supplement is the most expensive one, very good for the body. Make this one, and remember to have Steven eat it with you tonight."
"Okay." Nora agreed, put the supplement on to cook, then went to the sofa to make coffee for Elizabeth. "Grandma, let me make you some coffee?"
"Sure." Elizabeth watched the supplement being prepared and smiled knowingly.
"Grandma, here's your coffee."
"Nora, you're not only beautiful, but your coffee is also fragrant!" Elizabeth drank the coffee Nora made, becoming more and more satisfied with her.
Before long, someone knocked on the door.
Lally went to answer it.
At the door were Eleanor and Giselle. "Hello, does Nora live here?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm her sister's mother-in-law." Eleanor introduced herself and walked in with Giselle.
Bianca's face had been swollen from slapping yesterday, and she had cried all the way home. Eleanor felt so bad for her that she came today to get to the bottom of it. There was also Olivia's matter to resolve.
Willie said Nora had married well, and he was right.
This apartment at Riverside Apartment wasn't just in a good location - it was decorated extremely elegantly. You could tell from the decor that a lot of money had been spent.
"This apartment really is nice," Giselle said quietly to Eleanor. "They even hired servants. Looks like Nora really did marry well."
"Yes," Eleanor replied, seeing Elizabeth on the sofa and greeting her.
This old lady looked very refined, wearing a jade green bracelet on her hand. She must be the grandmother of Nora's husband.
But now that Nora was married, Eleanor was relieved.
This way, Nora wouldn't compete with her daughter for Philip.
Elizabeth recognized at a glance that this was the woman from the news, the one who knelt and cried in front of Olivia!
But she was a cultured person and wouldn't embarrass someone to their face, so she just nodded politely.
Nora looked at Eleanor. "How did you know I live here?"
"I asked Willie." Eleanor sat down uninvited.
Nora was a bit speechless.
Elizabeth said nothing but perked up her ears. She wanted to hear what Eleanor came to see Nora about.
"Nora, there's something I want to ask you. Yesterday, Bianca's face got swollen from being hit. She said you hit her. What's that about?" Eleanor looked at Nora, her expression somewhat unhappy. Of course, she had to come ask about Bianca's face being beaten like that.
Nora laughed. "What's it about? She hit herself."
Eleanor frowned. "She hit herself?"
With Willie not around today, Eleanor was obviously more arrogant, her attitude quite haughty.
Giselle, beside her, was like a servant in front of Eleanor, not daring to say a word.
With such a vicious mother-in-law like Eleanor, Nora would never approve of Olivia having any more contact with Willie. Marrying into a family like that would just be asking to be abused.
"Yes, Bianca accused me of defrauding your family. My husband said either Bianca slaps herself twice, or we take this to court. Bianca chose to slap herself. So coming to me about this is useless. If you want to go after the person who hit Bianca, you'll have to go to Bianca herself." Nora responded calmly.
Elizabeth was quite pleased. Steven actually knew to stand up for Nora - he was getting smarter!
Eleanor was taken aback. Last night, Bianca said Nora hit her face, and Eleanor came to find Nora without thinking. She didn't expect this to be the truth.
Eleanor suppressed her anger and stated her purpose for coming today. "Nora, it's like this. You're married now, too. Couples fighting and having conflicts are very normal, you know that. Our Reed family discussed it last night, and we thought that Willie and Olivia's marriage wasn't easy, so how can they divorce so easily? Willie's thinking is not to divorce. He wants to live a good life with Olivia."
Nora frowned. "Right now, it's not about whether you want to divorce or not. It's about how to divide the assets in the divorce."
Eleanor's face darkened, as if she could barely sit still. She said directly, "We let her stay at home and relax. What more could she want?"
"Willie works so hard every day, earning money so Olivia has a place to live and food to eat. She's still so difficult every day. Ask her to cook a meal, and she says her back hurts, or her stomach hurts, or she's going to throw up. How come everyone else can do it, but she's so delicate?"
"Also, Olivia is always causing trouble in our family, either saying Terry is bad or saying Bianca is bad. Willie married someone like her, and I haven't even complained about her, yet she doesn't know how to behave herself. She even wants to control our family's finances. How ridiculous!"
In her anger, Eleanor blurted out everything on her mind.
Nora laughed coldly. So she came to complain after all.
She said coldly, "I know about your family's affairs. Terry steals kickbacks at the company, and Bianca is always taking money from Willie to buy designer goods. Why is Olivia unhappy? The company belongs to them, so the rent and living expenses are paid by the couple together. Why should the money Olivia works hard to earn be taken away by your family members like that? Can't they earn money themselves?"
Elizabeth was shocked to hear this.
So the Reed family members were this shameless!
