Chapter 161: Steven's Wit
Nora originally wanted to call Steven, but after thinking about it, she decided to get dressed first to avoid being teased by him again when changing clothes.
Nora found her clothes and, with her back to Steven, carefully put on that set of sexy black lingerie.
Just as she was about to put on her skirt, Steven's lazy voice came from behind.
"Turn around and let me see."
Nora was startled and tried to quickly pull on her skirt.
"Turn around!" Steven saw through her intention, his voice tinged with displeasure.
Nora was timid and didn't dare disobey Steven's command. She turned around uncomfortably.
Steven's gaze fixed on her. "Take away the skirt."
Nora blushed and tossed the skirt aside.
She had a great figure, curvy and sexy, impossible to look away from.
Steven propped up his head, raised his eyebrows, and his burning gaze made her face flush and her heart race.
"Beautiful. You should buy more sexy lingerie like this." Steven smiled.
Nora blushed and didn't dare look at him. "Can I put on my skirt now?"
"Come here." Steven beckoned.
Nora shyly moved closer, with several obvious love marks on her body.
Steven looked at them, in a good mood, and asked with a smile, "Did it hurt last night?"
This was a question he asked every time afterward.
Caring about her physical and mental health.
Nora blushed deeply. "It seems a bit better than before." Actually, she was still somewhat uncomfortable.
"Did it feel good?" Steven continued asking.
Nora didn't want to answer.
"Say it." Steven insisted she answer, pinching her chin, domineering and authoritarian.
Nora said softly, "It was pretty good."
Gradually, it really did seem better, just like he said - after getting used to it, she experienced that kind of pleasant sensation.
Steven smiled with satisfaction.
Nora felt she had been tricked by him. After being bullied by him, she still had to say it felt good in front of him. She was so embarrassed.
Nora ran off, annoyed to get dressed, not wanting to deal with Steven anymore.
Steven laughed behind her.
Nora got dressed in the bathroom, calmed herself down, and then walked out. "Steven, Olivia is looking for you."
Steven had already put on a robe and was sitting at the computer, looking handsome.
"OK." He responded, "I'll come out after washing up."
"Okay." Nora walked out of the master bedroom.
Olivia had already prepared breakfast. It was great having Olivia stay with them - she got up every morning to make breakfast before Nora did.
"We can eat now." Olivia brought out the food.
"Steven will be out soon," Nora replied, sitting across from Olivia.
After a while, Steven came out, wearing a dark sweater, looking as fresh and handsome as always.
"Olivia, you were looking for me?" He was clearly in a good mood, with a faint smile at the corners of his lips.
"Yes, there's something I want to discuss with you both." Olivia brought up what was on her mind. "I'm planning to go back to Apex Technologies Corporation. What do you think?"
Nora took a bite of fried egg. "Go back for what?"
Steven was also somewhat surprised.
Olivia said, "Today is the 31st, which is also the day for financial collections. On the last day of every month, Apex Technologies Corporation sends finance staff to market companies to collect payments."
Apex Technologies Corporation operated on monthly accounts - meaning they got goods on monthly terms, but also sold on monthly terms, with all bills settled at the end of the month.
"I used to do the collection work, so I know the process. I'm planning to go to the company today, trick the finance department into giving me the account statements, and go collect the payments myself using my collection account. With my position, the other companies probably won't suspect me." Olivia finished and looked at them both.
Actually, she had wanted to do this for a while, but she wasn't sure and was afraid Willie would call the police.
If this succeeded, Olivia could collect at least several hundred thousand dollars in accounts. That way, she could pay back the medical and legal fees and have some capital left over. Then she wouldn't be afraid when fighting the lawsuit with Willie.
Olivia said, "I'm just afraid Willie will call the police."
After hearing Olivia's words, Nora finally understood why Olivia wanted to ask Steven about this.
This was indeed a big deal.
Nora didn't understand either. She looked at Steven, instinctively relying on him. She felt that Steven was a knowledgeable person.
Steven thought for a moment and asked Olivia, "Are you a shareholder in Willie's company?"
"Yes. When the company was registered, my name was on the shareholder list."
"You can do this," Steven replied calmly.
"Will he call the police?" Olivia was more worried about this, afraid she wouldn't be able to come home after doing this.
"Right now you want a divorce, but Willie won't agree, right?" Steven asked her.
Olivia nodded. "Yes, we've communicated two or three times, and he refuses. I think he just doesn't want to split money with me."
"Then it's okay for you to take some unconventional measures." Steven thought deeply, with the air of a master strategist. "Since you're a shareholder, then besides Willie, you're the second biggest in the company. It's fine for you to collect some money. Don't be afraid of the Reed family. When it's time to fight for what's yours, show your mettle. The more you cower, the more they'll walk all over you."
Nora listened to Steven's words and thought they made sense. She said to Olivia, "Yeah, Olivia, you're basically the second boss. Terry is just a manager, Bianca is just a supervisor - they're all below you. You need to completely crush them, then they'll be afraid of you."
Olivia nodded. She had thought about all this, but thinking about going into battle alone still scared her a bit.
She felt she needed someone to guide her.
And that person was Steven. She felt Steven had this ability.
Although Alton had helped her a lot, Olivia didn't want to get too close to him. She always felt he had ulterior motives and was afraid she wouldn't be able to repay him.
The Reed family always schemed together as a family.
She needed a strategist on her side, too. Otherwise, facing the entire Reed family alone would naturally make her feel timid.
Steven thought for a moment and asked her, "Olivia, are you afraid of Apex Technologies Corporation collapsing?"
Olivia asked, "Why do you ask that?"
"If you're not afraid of the company collapsing, then show your attitude and be ruthless. Whoever is most afraid of the company collapsing will be most afraid of you." Steven was referring to Willie.
Willie wasn't divorcing now because he didn't want to split the money.
But if he didn't split the money and Olivia was going to destroy the company, then to save the company, Willie might choose to protect it.
Olivia wasn't stupid either. After thinking about it briefly, she understood and nodded. "Actually, I don't care about the company's future anymore. Before, I hoped the company would do well because he and I were husband and wife, so naturally I hoped his career would get better and better and he'd get richer and richer."
"But after everything that's happened, I now feel - what does it matter to me whether the Reed family does well or not? If they don't do well, I'm even happier."
Olivia wasn't afraid of Nora and Steven laughing at her. She knew they truly cared about her, so she spoke her mind.
"However, I don't want to lose out either. The company was also established through my hard work. I want to get back everything I deserve." Olivia looked at Nora and Steven.
Nora understood Olivia's thinking. When dealing with the Reed family, of course, you had to get back what you deserved.
Otherwise, it would all benefit them.
Steven said, "Olivia, just do what you're thinking. Go cause trouble at Apex Technologies Corporation. When they're at their wit's end, they'll naturally come to you to solve the problem. If it can't be solved, call me, and I'll help you handle it."
Steven could actually help her handle it, but if he handled it, Apex Technologies Corporation would probably go bankrupt.
So it was best to wait until Olivia got back the money that belonged to her, then he would make his move.
And the method Steven was teaching her now would drag the entire company's future into it.
Only when in a dangerous situation would they actively solve the problem.
Nora admired Steven a bit more.
At the same time, she felt Steven's way of thinking was a bit scary, and she got goosebumps.
Steven was so capable, yet capable in an unusual way. Nora inexplicably felt that if she offended Steven, he would definitely torment her.
This was playing the entire Apex Technologies Corporation like a fiddle.
Olivia also felt Steven was quite clever.
She had wanted revenge before, but she only thought of making trouble with Willie. But her way of making trouble was just pressuring Willie to give her money, and if he didn't, there was nothing she could do.
But Steven's suggestion was to use the company to pressure Willie. As long as Apex Technologies Corporation was in danger, not just Willie, but the entire Reed family would be worried and scared.
Olivia was very grateful to Steven. At the same time, she secretly made up her mind to show her strength. Fortune favors the bold.
After the meal, the three of them went out together.
Nora wanted to accompany Olivia to Apex Technologies Corporation, and Steven drove them there.
Steven drove the car and instructed Nora, "If anything happens, call me. Don't hide it from me, okay?"
"Of course I'll tell you," Nora said.
Steven didn't know how much Nora relied on him.
"If the Reed family gives you trouble, tell me. I'll borrow a few bodyguards from my boss for you."
"Okay." Nora thought Steven was so good. Although he said annoying things when angry, when he was good, he was very good, especially when protecting her - he was particularly handsome.
The car arrived at Golden Tower. Nora gave Steven a sweet goodbye. "Honey, bye!"
Steven smiled and, after they left, called over the bodyguards following him, leaving two at Golden Tower to protect Nora and Olivia.
"You two follow Nora. If anyone bullies her, help her solve the problem." Steven gave the order.
"Yes!" The two bodyguards nodded and followed Nora into Golden Tower.
A moment later, Nora and Olivia stood at the entrance of Apex Technologies Corporation.
"Olivia, let's go in." Nora reminded Olivia.
"Okay." Olivia came back to her senses and straightened her chest.
She strode in wearing high heels. They arrived quite early - there were only a few employees in the company.
As soon as Olivia entered, she attracted everyone's attention.
