Chapter 121 Nora Waits for Steven to Come Home
Vivian has never been insulted like this before.
Her face changed, and she wanted to slap Nora.
Nora grabbed her hand, her eyes ice-cold. "What? Can't win an argument, so now you want to hit me?"
Vivian gritted her teeth and tried to move her hand, but couldn't. Nora was gripping it tightly, and she couldn't shake it off at all.
Vivian glared at her. "Nora, I'm telling you this today - you're not good enough for Steven. If you know what's good for you, divorce him soon. Otherwise, you'll find out just how miserable you'll be."
"I'm not listening to you." Nora didn't believe her at all and flung her hand away.
Vivian stumbled back a few steps from the force.
Though she came from a good family, she was a delicate, rich girl. Without anyone by her side, she was no match for Nora in a fight.
Vivian had never been treated like this before. Her face turned cold, then she suddenly smiled. "Fine, go ahead and bite off more than you can chew. I'd like to see how long you can last."
With that, Vivian fixed her hair and went into the jewelry store to pick up the golden peach.
Nora thought she was crazy.
Steven was already married, yet she insisted on chasing after a married man?
Vivian had such good conditions, she was a socialite from a wealthy family - couldn't she choose someone from a similar background? Why did she have to go after Steven?
The more Nora thought about it, the more annoyed she became.
She left the mall, and when passing by the supplements section, she bought some nutritional products.
Olivia had just had a miscarriage and needed to eat some supplements.
The Reed family wouldn't buy them for her, so Nora had to do it.
After buying the supplements, following her earlier plan, Nora transferred some money to each of the three - Tanner, Olivia, and Marcella. The $70,000 she'd earned was quickly spent.
But Nora was in a good mood.
Making money was for making her family's life better. Olivia and Tanner were in trouble, so she should help them out.
Steven didn't really need money, so Nora would just give him the little golden pig.
When she got home, Steven wasn't back yet.
Nora went to shower first. After washing up, she went to her room to dry her hair, then lay on the bed playing with her phone.
After lying there for a bit, she thought she should still sleep in the same room as Steven, so she happily went over with her little stuffed toy.
Looking at the big bed in Steven's room, Nora remembered what happened last night, and her face turned red with embarrassment!
She pulled back the covers to check if they'd stained the sheets yesterday.
Sure enough, they had!
Nora looked at the "evidence" of their intimacy, blushing as she stripped off the sheets and changed them for a new set.
12 AM.
Steven still wasn't back.
Nora called Steven.
No answer.
Nora didn't know why, but she just felt down.
Nora fell asleep waiting on the sofa.
She didn't know how long had passed when Nora heard footsteps. She woke up startled from the sofa and heard someone rattling the door handle.
Nora checked the time - it was past 2 AM.
Was it Steven?
Nora looked through the peephole and saw the tall man outside, drunk and swaying - it was Steven.
Nora unlocked the deadbolt and opened the door.
Steven stood at the door, having had some drinks, his eyes coldly glaring at her. "Why did you lock the deadbolt?"
What did he mean?
Didn't want him to come back?
"I always lock the door," Nora responded, seeing he was so drunk he could barely stand, and walked over to help him.
But he pushed her away.
"Get away from me!"
His tone was cold, as if even being touched by her disgusted him.
Nora was pushed aside. She froze completely, as if unable to process what happened.
Steven ignored her.
He angrily went into the master bedroom and slammed the door shut.
That sound hit Nora's heart hard.
She had just made love with him last night... and today he treated her like this?
She bought him the golden pig, sat on the sofa waiting for him until 2 AM, and he pushed her away and shut the master bedroom door.
Nora's heart ached and twitched.
If she'd known he would treat her like this, she wouldn't have made love with him last night... And he even shut the master bedroom door.
Didn't that just mean he didn't want her to come in?
Nora stubbornly thought she would never sleep with Steven again!
She went back to the guest bedroom and lay on the bed with a gloomy expression, her small face hidden under her long hair as tears slowly fell.
How could Steven treat her like this?
Last night, passionate as fire.
Today, cold as ice.
Making her emotions go up and down - it was really awful...
The next day.
Dawn was breaking.
Nora woke up early in the morning, eyes open in silent sadness.
She couldn't sleep; her whole heart felt heavy.
Steven, in his own room, hadn't slept well either.
When he came into the room last night and saw his sheets had been changed, he knew Nora had changed them for him.
At that moment, he regretted pushing her.
But thinking she might have something going on with Andrew made him very uncomfortable.
Someone rang the doorbell outside.
Steven ignored it.
The doorbell kept ringing.
Steven walked out impatiently to open the door and saw Nora standing at the door signing for a delivery.
The delivery person said, "Hello, miss, your package is a bit damaged. It's best to check it right away."
"Okay." Nora tore open the package with her keys.
Inside was the helmet she was going to give Andrew.
She took it out to look at it.
So Steven saw her take a helmet out of the box and examine it inside and out.
Andrew had two big hobbies - one was motorcycles, the other was helmets.
Who this helmet was for was obvious.
So the person who made plans with Andrew to go to The Fisherman's Catch was definitely Nora!
And she'd carefully prepared a gift - clearly not forced into it.
If Andrew had really done something to her, how could she be so nice to Andrew? Taking the initiative to ask him to dinner and giving him gifts?
Maybe she really was someone Andrew sent?
Or maybe Andrew pretended to be an assistant to seduce her, and she actually fell for it.
Did she think Andrew was handsome?
Was he more handsome than him?
"The helmet's fine." After checking the helmet, Nora closed the door.
Her phone happened to be in her hand, and she sent Andrew a voice message. "Um, Mr. Hayes, are you free tomorrow?"
Tomorrow was Saturday.
Andrew replied, "Tomorrow works, it's the weekend, we can go have fun."
Andrew's clear voice came through the phone.
This time it was absolutely certain!
Anger flashed in Steven's eyes.
Nora said, "Then let's meet tomorrow?"
Andrew laughed. "Sure."
Hearing him agree, Nora smiled with relief, then turned around and met Steven's dark, gloomy eyes.
Nora's heart jumped, and her phone fell to the ground.
She snapped back to reality and quickly picked up her phone, but the screen had cracked a bit, with a diagonal line running across it
Nora felt bad about it and muttered, "Couldn't you make some noise while standing behind me?"
