Chapter 91 Who Is Jealous
Olivia didn't know what Alton was laughing about and asked him, "What are you guys laughing at?"
"Can't you tell? Steven is jealous," Alton glanced at Olivia.
Olivia looked over at Steven, who had already squeezed his way next to Nora. The two of them looked really good together, like something out of a TV drama.
Olivia said, "He was a bit jealous earlier, too."
"Jealous of Chris?"
"Seems like it." Earlier in the car, that seemed to be the name she heard.
Alton said with a smile, "First time seeing him jealous. Pretty interesting."
"Isn't that a good thing, though?" Olivia actually thought it was nice - it proved Steven cared about Nora. Nora was lucky.
Nora started steaming the king crab.
Chris stood at another stove. He actually knew how to cook.
Nora exclaimed in surprise, "You really can cook?"
"Of course, I'm great at cooking." Chris showed off his knife skills by cutting vegetables, looking at Steven, "Pretty good, right?"
Steven's handsome face showed no warmth at all.
He didn't want to deal with him at all.
Chris felt even more amused inside and deliberately said, "Nora, can you pass me the seasoning?"
"Sure." Nora was about to grab it when the seasoning beside her disappeared - Steven had taken it.
"Steven, what are you doing?" Nora looked confused.
Steven gave her a cold look.
Nora's heart tightened. "What's wrong?"
Steven ignored her and handed the seasoning to Chris, "Leave as soon as you're done cooking."
Chris was trying not to laugh.
An hour later, all the dishes were ready, and the whole house smelled amazing.
"Dinner's ready," Nora called out, standing in the kitchen ladling soup into bowls for everyone.
The others had already sat down at the table.
Chris walked in and suddenly said to Nora, "Happy with what you saw?"
"Happy?" Nora had been cooking the whole time and only remembered the cooking part - she hadn't noticed anything else.
But Chris didn't say more and just took the soup out.
There were only two seats left at the table. Chris deliberately sat in the middle, leaving the last seat on the side for Nora.
This way, Chris separated Nora from Steven, blocking them.
Steven's eyes turned cold. "What exactly are you trying to do?"
Steal his wife?
Chris said innocently, "What's wrong? You're mad that I'm sitting down to eat?"
The other two were trying not to laugh.
Alton said to Olivia, "See? Very jealous."
Olivia nodded, drinking her water, finding it hilarious. Chris was such a character, making Steven jealous all evening.
Nora came out with the remaining soup. Only one seat was left at the table.
She was about to sit down when Steven called her, "Nora, come sit over here."
"What?" Nora looked over.
Steven pulled over a chair for her to sit next to him.
There was clearly still a seat at the table, right next to Chris.
Nora felt it would be rude to go sit over there, but if she didn't, Steven's face was getting darker and darker.
Finally, she sighed and walked over to sit next to Steven.
"Everyone, eat up, just home cooking, give it a try." As the hostess, Nora needed to welcome everyone.
Steven asked her, "Why did you sigh just now?"
Was she disappointed that he asked her to come sit here? Did she like being around Chris that much? She'd been hovering around him all evening.
"I didn't." Nora took a sip of corn soup.
Chris immediately said, "So delicious! Nora, your cooking is amazing!"
His exaggerated praise even made Nora feel embarrassed. Nora said with a smile, "My cooking is just average."
"Not average at all." Alton also thought it was really good. Her cooking was better than many fancy restaurants. No wonder Steven was hooked by her cooking - totally understandable.
Nora felt a bit embarrassed being praised by everyone.
Chris said, "Really, don't be modest. I'm a food connoisseur. Any food I certify could get three Michelin stars."
He was telling the truth, but everyone thought he was bragging.
Alton noticed Olivia had been quiet and made small talk, asking, "Do you cook too?"
Earlier, all the dishes were made by Nora and Chris. Chris insisted on showing off, so everyone just went along with it.
"Yeah, I'm the one who taught Nora how to cook," Olivia said proudly.
Alton looked at her beautiful profile, and his appetite improved.
Actually, Alton had known about Olivia for a long time. But when he tried to find out about her back then, she already had a boyfriend, and Alton was really busy at the time, so he gave up.
"Little Nora, your cooking is really great. I've decided - I'm coming to your place to eat often from now on." With one change of address, Chris started calling her Little Nora.
Steven's brow furrowed again and again.
Usually, he thought Nora's cooking was delicious, but today, he somehow had no appetite.
Especially with Chris's voice in his ear, constantly talking to his wife, it completely killed his appetite.
"Mr. Green is always welcome." Nora smiled politely. Chris was Steven's boss, so of course Nora didn't want to offend him.
This Chris had a pretty cheerful personality, just not great with boundaries.
That's how Nora evaluated him in her mind.
They finished the meal in a lively atmosphere.
After dinner, everyone helped clean up. Nora thought this was great - when everyone worked together, hosting wasn't tiring.
If one person had to clean up everything, they definitely wouldn't want to host again!
Nora brought over the trash can. Chris immediately said, "Bring it here, I'll dump the scraps in."
Nora was about to take it over.
Steven suddenly pressed down on her hand and silently took the trash can from her, walking toward Chris.
Chris felt like Steven wanted to dump the trash can on his head.
He swallowed and looked at Steven warily.
"Jealous?" Chris asked him.
Steven's face darkened, "Who's jealous? I just think some people are helpless, needing others to bring them a trash can."
And he said he wasn't jealous? Chris was amused. "But your wife really is a great cook."
Steven's face darkened even more.
Chris pressed on, "And she's very pretty too."
Steven got so annoyed that he directly told him to leave, "When are you leaving?"
"I'm not leaving. I still want to chat with you guys." After saying this, he put down the trash can and walked over to sit on the sofa, striking an elegant pose, deliberately showing off his charm.
Steven's face was cold and dark. He regretted hosting this dinner party tonight.
After eating, everyone wandered around the house. Wherever Chris went, he had nice things to say. Seeing the balcony, he exclaimed, "Nora, you can garden too? You're amazing!"
Nora smiled shyly, "Just growing things for fun."
"That's still really impressive." Chris was good at compliments. Seeing the study, he glanced at it casually, "Black and white - not very creative."
Steven's usual cold style.
When it came to Steven's things, Chris acted like he didn't see them. When he saw Nora's things, he praised them like crazy.
Steven stood behind the group, coldly watching Chris.
Entering the second bedroom, Chris laughed, "No way? You two sleep in separate rooms?"
