Chapter 82 Walking with Steven to See the Night Sea
"There's no misunderstanding." The manager's attitude was firm. "Please leave immediately, all three of you."
After saying this, several security guards stepped forward. If they didn't leave, they would have to use force.
Willie's face looked terrible, but he didn't dare make a scene in public. He could only sheepishly invite the client to eat somewhere else.
After they left the private room, the manager replied to Steven's message.
Steven had also finished eating and got up to leave with Nora.
As they walked into the lobby, they saw several security guards escorting Willie and Hazel out of the restaurant.
Both of them looked upset. Hazel even frowned and said, "Don't pull me, I can walk by myself."
They really got kicked out?
Nora couldn't believe it. "What happened? They actually got thrown out?"
"I told you it wouldn't be hard." Steven stood behind her, smiling.
Nora's eyes became suspicious. "How did you pull that off?"
Steven said half-jokingly, "I just went and told the manager that Willie is a dangerous person who might harm the restaurant, so the manager went and kicked him out. Do you believe me?"
"I don't believe you." Nora smiled. She really didn't believe him.
"But that's really what I did." Steven smiled confidently.
Nora thought he just got lucky. She went to ask a staff member why they kicked Willie out.
The staff member politely answered, "That person offended our boss."
"Oh, I see." Nora suddenly understood. Looking at Steven, she said, "See, I told you it was just dumb luck. Willie got kicked out because he offended the restaurant's owner."
Steven didn't explain further, just smiled without saying anything.
They left the restaurant. Steven went to get the car while Nora waited at the entrance.
She saw Willie say a few words to the client, then the client left, and Willie got in the car with Hazel.
Nora perked up!
Maybe she could catch them in the act tonight!
When Steven's car pulled up, Nora immediately said to him, "Steven, follow Willie's car."
Steven knew she wanted to catch them cheating. Without saying anything, he turned the steering wheel and followed.
Willie's car headed out of the city.
Nora followed from a distance, curious about where they were going.
Steven casually asked her, "Nora, if you really get evidence of Willie and Hazel together, what do you plan to do?"
"I'll find the right time to tell Olivia."
"What if she doesn't want a divorce?"
Nora was stunned. She had never thought about this question.
Steven said, "Olivia is six months pregnant now, and Willie's situation is getting better and better. What if Olivia thinks she'd lose out by divorcing at this point and doesn't want to?"
Steven's father had married several wives. Cheating was nothing to him—with money, women didn't mind at all.
What if Olivia didn't mind either?
"Here's a realistic problem: if the couple doesn't divorce, then all the shared property goes to one child. But if they divorce because of this, given Willie's ability, even if he liquidates half the company's value to give to Olivia, he'll still be able to earn more than Olivia in the future. If he remarries, his property will go to his new wife and children."
Steven told her honestly, "Even if you take those photos, you're just holding evidence. You can't make Willie leave with nothing. The law doesn't work that way, and the Reed family would never agree to it."
Nora understood this point. Her hand clutched her bag as she said softly, "I still need to keep the evidence. If Olivia doesn't want a divorce, I'll never mention this secret. But if Olivia wants a divorce, I'll give her these photos and let her handle it herself."
Steven thought she was doing the right thing.
To put it bluntly, matters between husband and wife aren't for outsiders to interfere with. Some people don't divorce not for love, but possibly for the children and property.
Steven drove the car. "If it really comes to divorce, you can ask me. I know some lawyer friends."
"Great." Nora thought Steven had such a wide network. She had almost no lawyer friends like this. "If I need them, I'll let you know."
Willie took Hazel to a restaurant by the sea.
Nora snorted. "He sure knows how to have fun. He still has the mood to go on a date with Hazel."
Steven walked over with his long legs and said a few words to a waiter.
Nora turned back to look for him and saw him slip fifty dollars to the waiter.
Nora's eyes widened. She jogged over to him. "Why are you giving the waiter money?"
"I asked him to help me keep an eye on Willie. Let's go." Steven started walking out.
"Where to?"
"The beach." Steven didn't want to wait around here like an idiot. "When Willie leaves, the waiter will call me. Let's walk on the beach."
The beach!
Nora's eyes lit up.
She had never been to the beach before!
Although South City had the ocean and she'd lived here for many years, she'd never been to the beach—it seemed too far.
She held her high heels in her hand and walked slowly.
The sound of waves filled her ears.
Nora felt very comfortable.
Being able to come see the ocean with Steven was thanks to Willie. Otherwise, with Steven's personality, he probably wouldn't think to bring her to the beach for a date, right?
Nora suddenly wanted to laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" Steven asked her.
Nora shook her head. Steven reached out his long arm and pulled her into his embrace.
Nora's breath caught. Being held by him on the beach, her expression was a bit dazed.
"What are you really laughing at?" he asked in a low voice.
She didn't know if it was because of the night breeze.
Or because of the beach.
Looking at him, she suddenly felt very moved. "I was just laughing that if we weren't here to watch Willie, we wouldn't have had the chance to visit the beach together."
"Do you like the ocean?" His handsome face looked at her.
"It's nice. It makes you feel open and free." Even though it was the ocean at night, it still felt good.
Steven hummed in agreement, touching her wind-tousled hair. "If they really go to a hotel later, how do you plan to get in?"
Nora's wandering thoughts were pulled back.
She pressed her lips together. "I really haven't thought about that. Go ask the front desk for a key card—do you think they'd give it to us?"
"No." Steven shook his head.
She looked worried. "Then following them seems pointless?"
Even if they knew which hotel, they couldn't break in to take photos.
"Here's the thing, I have some private detective friends..." Steven bent down to look at her.
Nora looked up, a bit surprised. How did Steven have every kind of friend?
"Steven, you mean?"
"I mean, should I ask them to help out?" Actually, Steven could get a room key, but he didn't want to barge in with Nora. If the people inside were completely naked, Steven didn't want Nora to see such a disgusting scene.
"Is that okay?" Nora's big eyes looked at him.
"Do you want me to help?"
"If your friends are willing, of course, I'd like that." She couldn't get in by herself anyway.
