Chapter 62 Is Nora Andrew's Person
Steven rolled down the car window.
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, he saw Nora talking with Andrew, her expression soft.
James said, "Mrs. York, could she be Andrew's person?"
What he meant was, could Mrs. York be sent by Andrew to get to Steven - a honey trap.
Steven's face turned extremely grim.
In the café.
Andrew said to Nora, "Our boss is called Duke Wood. He's from The Iron Country and usually speaks The Iron Country language. He doesn't know other languages, so you can communicate with me and I'll pass it on."
"Okay." Nora didn't think much of it. "Is there anything else you need to know?"
Andrew pulled out a document - it was a quote list.
Nora flipped it open. They needed over 20 types of chips, each requiring one or two thousand pieces.
Nora did a quick mental calculation - it would be several hundred thousand dollars.
This was her first big online order. Nora's eyes lit up. In international e-commerce, you really need big orders to take off.
Small orders barely make any money, just enough to get by.
Big orders usually come from legitimate companies or factories. If she could establish long-term cooperation with this kind of order, she could open her own company!
That's the appeal of starting a business - waiting for this opportunity. When it comes, you have to grab it tight!
Nora told herself not to get nervous!
Although several hundred thousand dollars seemed daunting, if she seized this opportunity, she might be close to success.
However, sometimes a lack of money is also an obstacle, because big order customers never pay upfront. They sign contracts and pay part first, with the balance paid after the order is completed.
This meant she needed to find money to buy all the goods first.
Nora calculated the timing. If she used Willie's company to order goods on a monthly payment terms and quickly got this batch of goods, by the time the monthly payment was due, the order would be complete, and the customer would transfer the money to her. Then she could pay back the other company. The timing would actually work!
So she wasn't that scared anymore and asked Andrew with a smile, "How does Mr. Wood plan to place the order?"
Andrew sat elegantly across from her and took a sip of coffee. "Mr. Wood plans to order through your shop."
Nora frowned. If they ordered through her shop, it meant she couldn't get part of the payment. After they placed the order, the money would actually be held by the platform. The shop owner could see the money but couldn't access it. Only after she shipped the goods and there was tracking information for 15 days would the platform release the payment to her account.
"I see," Nora responded.
Andrew looked at her with a smile. "What's wrong? Is this difficult for Ms. Adams?"
"Not difficult." Nora bit the bullet. It's all money - how can you make money without taking risks?
Andrew looked at her with a smile. "If this order goes well, there will be bigger orders later."
Nora's eyes lit up.
Was she this lucky this year?
How did she suddenly run into such a good thing!
Back then, Willie got a big foreign client and made millions of dollars in just two years!
Now Willie's company had even secured financing. Men are ambitious - making money and not choosing comfort means he wants to go further...
"Okay, I hope we have a pleasant cooperation too."
Andrew took out his phone and opened Facebook. "Ms. Adams, please add me. I'll pull you into a group with me, you, and Mr. Wood later."
"Got it." Nora understood and took out her phone to add Andrew.
Duke was probably an important figure who didn't add people randomly, so Nora could only add his assistant.
"My last name is Hayes. You can call me Mr. Hayes. If you need anything in the future, you can message me on the phone." Andrew waved his phone.
"Okay."
Nora got up to see them out.
She had this order in hand now. Nora walked back holding the documents, feeling great.
She spent the whole day at the company working on this order, constantly calling the market to inquire about prices.
Time flew by, and it was evening.
Nora was so tired that her neck was sore. She checked the time - it was already past 9 PM. She hadn't finished the work, so she closed the documents and decided to continue tomorrow.
She got home around 10 o'clock.
Nora opened the door. The lights were off inside.
But it was full of smoke, making Nora cough several times.
Steven was sitting on the sofa. In the darkness, only the red glow between his fingers flickered on and off.
"Why didn't you open the balcony door when smoking?" Nora was choking, waved away the smoke, and turned on the ceiling light.
Steven looked up at her lazily. "Why are you home so late?"
"I was a bit busy today." Nora went to open the glass balcony door and stood outside, breathing in some fresh air.
"Busy with what?"
"Just work stuff." Nora looked at the night view for a while. Just as she was about to come back in, she was startled by the man approaching her.
He was so tall, standing in front of her like a mountain pressing down, giving an extremely strong sense of oppression.
Nora's pupils trembled. She raised her hand to block his approaching chest. "What are you doing?"
Steven trapped her between the balcony and his arms.
They were very close. His expressionless, handsome face was right above her.
Nora didn't dare meet his eyes and turned her head away, leaving him with her profile. "Steven?"
"What's your relationship with Andrew?" Steven looked down at her, his pupils dark.
"Andrew?" She thought for a moment. "You mean the third son of the York family?"
She remembered seeing his back at the party. Come to think of it, he looked a bit like the Mr. Hayes she met today!
"Yes, what's your relationship with him?" Steven looked down at her profile.
"I have no relationship with him. I only saw him once at the party." Nora answered softly. Steven was too close; she wasn't used to it.
Not admitting it?
Steven's lips curved coldly. He suddenly remembered the party.
Right, she was in Andrew's private room at the time, and when she came back, she told him she had seen Andrew's presence.
Bringing it up on her own initiative then - was it deliberate?
Afraid he'd find out she was Andrew's person, so she proactively told him she'd seen Andrew.
"Really don't know him?" Steven probed.
"I don't know him." Nora shook her head, her expression very sincere.
Steven wanted to sneer inwardly.
They had coffee together today, and she still said she didn't know him.
This woman was really a pro - lying without even blinking.
Steven grabbed her chin and threatened coldly, "If I find out you have any relationship with him, I won't let you off."
Daring to use a honey trap on him - he'd definitely make her pay.
Nora was so scared that her back pressed against the balcony.
Steven's expression - why did it become so dark and terrifying?
