Chapter 118: The Agreement
Willie is suddenly doing all these things - he must be planning something.
But if someone's taking care of her, she'll accept it.
It was the Reed family who made her like this in the first place. Why should she exhaust Nora taking care of her while letting everyone else live carefree?
Nora nodded, "I think so too. They must have discussed something."
With what happened to Olivia, the Reed family must be discussing countermeasures.
Their family always sticks together, always scheming about how to deal with Olivia.
That was true.
Over in Eleanor's hospital room, they were indeed having a discussion.
Eleanor was lying weakly in the hospital bed, with Willie and Bianca by her side. There was another person in the room - Willow.
Willow Mitchell was Eleanor's younger sister, and the one who pushed Olivia and made her fall.
Willow cried out, "Eleanor, I did it for you! I went up to confront Olivia, and now that she's lost the baby, will she call the police on me?"
After going home, Willow had been restless. She was the one who pushed her - she couldn't escape responsibility.
Willow's son scolded her, too. Now that the baby was gone, if Olivia reported it to the police, she'd be the one in trouble!
"Eleanor, you have to help me!" Willow's legs were weak. Seeing Willie, she was about to kneel before him. "Willie, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to harm your and Olivia's baby. It wasn't on purpose. She just happened to stand up that day, and I accidentally pushed her..."
Willow used to look down on Olivia and always deliberately made things difficult for her.
Now that something happened, she was so scared she couldn't eat or sleep, coming to the hospital every day to beg Eleanor.
Eleanor cried along with her, looking at Willie pitifully. "Willie, she's my only sister. She's your aunt! Willie, don't hold her responsible, or I won't want to live either..."
Two days ago, Willie came to the hospital to visit Eleanor and asked her who pushed Olivia.
With that question, Eleanor's face changed. She was hiding in the hospital pretending to be sick because she was afraid Willie would pursue it.
She didn't expect Willie to still ask.
So the group cried and apologized in front of him.
Willow knelt before him, tearfully begging for his forgiveness.
Bianca joined in persuading him, "Willie, you can get another wife, but you only have one mother! Are you really going to pursue Willow and drive Mom to her death? You know perfectly well that Mom loves Willow the most..."
Willie softened.
Eleanor came up with a plan for Willie. "How about this, Willie - be nice to Olivia lately, coax her into forgiving Willow. We won't go against her anymore, let her feel at ease..."
Right now, this matter is at a critical point. Eleanor didn't want to go against Olivia.
First, coax Olivia into forgiving Willow, and once things die down, then kick Olivia out!
She heard Olivia's uterus almost had to be removed, and it would be very difficult for her to get pregnant in the future.
Eleanor had never approved of Olivia to begin with. Now that Olivia could hardly get pregnant, Eleanor wanted her even less!
"Don't worry, I'll talk to her properly," Willie promised.
On Olivia's side.
She had Nora help her record some things - all her and Willie's assets. She was afraid she'd forget later, so she started handling it now.
Divorce was actually very complicated.
Only those without assets could divorce just like that.
Those with assets needed many face-to-face meetings to verify various assets and how to divide them.
Nora held her phone. "Olivia, go ahead, I'll record it for you."
"Okay." Olivia thought for a moment. "A Lexus, a pair of jade pieces, and Apex Technologies Corporation..."
At this thought, Olivia herself was confused.
Willie hadn't bought any houses.
All the money he made these past two years went into warehouse inventory, and this year he also raised funds to build a factory.
Olivia said, "The money is all in the warehouse goods and the factory. We might need to inventory the goods and find someone to estimate the factory's value."
Nora recorded everything for Olivia.
But Olivia had an inexplicably bad feeling.
Before, Willie told her, "Even if I have money, I won't buy a house. I want to grow the company first, go public. When I achieve financial freedom, I'll buy a whole street of shops and collect rent when I'm old."
Back then, she thought Willie was very far-sighted and ambitious.
Now she felt he was someone with only ambition in his heart, keeping all the power in his own hands, unwilling to share.
"Anything else?" Nora asked Olivia.
Olivia came back to her senses. "No, that's it."
"Then that's all." Nora showed Olivia the notes she'd recorded.
Olivia looked for a while and got tired. She said to Nora, "Nora, I want to rest a bit."
"Okay." Nora helped her lie down.
Olivia closed her eyes to rest.
Right now, she had no choice but to take good care of herself.
Her baby was gone, she almost died on the operating table, and except for Willie, no one from the Reed family came to see her.
Clearly, they had abandoned her.
If she weren't strong at this time, she could easily develop depression from the blow.
If she got sick, the Reed family would probably celebrate.
So Olivia told herself she couldn't fall apart. She had to take care of herself and pull herself together.
Olivia fell asleep, and Nora drew the curtains.
As she sat on the sofa, she received a payment notification.
Nora was stunned. Mr. Hayes already transferred all the money to her?
Wasn't he afraid she'd take the money and run?
She opened Facebook and saw a message Andrew sent her.
Andrew: [Contract signed and returned, payment transferred. Happy cooperation!]
Nora smiled. No more worries now.
She sent Andrew a smiley face. Happy cooperation!
Andrew was in a meeting in a huge conference room. Steven sat in the main seat, Andrew beside him.
Hearing Andrew's phone ring, Steven's cold gaze shot over.
Seeing him look over, Andrew deliberately picked up his phone and said in a voice message with a smile, "Okay, remember our agreement, don't forget."
Steven's face was expressionless.
Andrew deliberately continued messaging in front of him: [I'd like to go to The Fisherman's Catch then.]
The Fisherman's Catch?
After searching, Nora got a general idea.
Nora noted it down. When the helmets arrived, she'd invite him to hang out and have a meal, and the deal would be done.
Having finished her big task, Nora went to bother Steven.
She bothered him every day - it was a habit.
Nora: [I completed something big today. I'm in a really good mood.]
The executives in the meeting were still talking.
Steven didn't reply, just glanced down.
Nora continued bothering: [Do you know The Fisherman's Catch? I heard you have to catch your own fish for the restaurant to cook. I wonder if catching fish yourself is hard.]
Seeing "The Fisherman's Catch," Steven's eyes instantly turned cold.
So the person chatting with Andrew just now was Nora?
