Chapter 163: Rebirth Part 1
Chapter 163: Rebirth Part 1
Lilac’s P.O.V
The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that crackled around us like a storm waiting to break.
"Silver, you're fooling yourself if you think you can wield that kind of power," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the gleaming knife in her hands. "You're not a true Silver Alpha Breeder, you never will be. You can't ever access my full potential."
Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface.
"Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I’m part wolf, part witch. I’m a hybrid that is already stronger than both a wolf and a witch! There’s nothing I cannot do, Lilac!"
"You think I chose you to lead our pack because of some noble sentiment? No, Lilac." Her voice was cold, devoid of any warmth. "I chose you because I knew the stronger you became, the more that dormant power inside you would grow. And when the time comes, when you're at your peak, that power will be mine to take."
My heart sank at her words, a mix of disbelief and betrayal churning within me. "You've been using me this whole time?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Silver didn't flinch. "I've been guiding you, honing your strength, because it serves my purpose. And when I extract that power, I will be unstoppable."
I felt a surge of anger rising within me, a tumultuous mix of emotions threatening to spill over. "I won't let you," I said, my voice gaining strength despite the fact that I was helplessly bound to a marble table. "I won't be a pawn in your game."
Silver's lips curled into a chilling smile. "You have no choice, Lilac. You're bound to me, you have no means to escape with my wraiths all over the place. And when the time comes, you'll see that resisting is futile."
As her words echoed in the room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. The weight of my responsibility as Alpha clashed with the realization that I might have been manipulated all along. Yet, amidst the uncertainty, a fierce determination ignited within me. I would find a way to protect my pack, to defy Silver's plans, no matter the cost.
I strained against the binds, the coarse ropes cutting into my wrists as I struggled to break free. My heart raced as Silver approached, her eyes gleaming with a chilling intensity that sent shivers down my spine.
"You think you're some great Alpha?" Silver's voice dripped with mockery as she circled around me. "Pathetic. Your so-called pack was nothing but a convenient cover while I waited for you to stumble into my trap."
I gritted my teeth, refusing to let her words get to me. Even though it hurt me to the bone, I was determined for it not to get to me
"You're the one who's pathetic, Silver. Using innocent wolves as pawns in your twisted game."
She chuckled darkly. "Innocent? They were blind followers, just like you. They won't come to your rescue. They won't help you now that you're in my grasp."
I struggled against the ropes, my muscles aching with the effort.
"They'll find me. They'll know you're lying."
Silver leaned in close, her breath cold against my skin. "They won't. They've seen your weaknesses, your failures. They know you're nothing without them. Just a lost Alpha without a pack. Just a little girl who has no one left and nowhere to go…"
I refused to show any sign of weakness, meeting her gaze defiantly. "I may be alone now, but I'm not weak. And I'll find a way out of this."
She laughed, a cruel sound that echoed in the dimly lit room. "You're delusional. You're trapped, and there's no escape. Your pack won't come for you. Krimson won’t come for you either after the fight. You're all alone."
I struggled harder against the binds, desperation fueling my movements.
"I won't give up. I won't let you win."
Silver's smile widened, a twisted satisfaction in her eyes. "Oh, but I already have won. You're mine now, Lilac. And there's no one coming to save you." Her words cut through me, a harsh reality that I didn't want to accept.
But deep down, doubts crept in. What if she was right? What if I was truly alone, without anyone to stand by me? Krimson…oh god! The hurtful exchange of words now came back to haunt me. What if those were the last words we had spoken to each other? No! I couldn’t let that happen! I pushed those thoughts aside, refusing to surrender to fear.
As I laid there, my heart pounding with anticipation, I clung to the unwavering belief that Krimson would come for me. I knew he'd defy all odds to reach me, just like he always had. Despite the way he had treated me…Krimson had always come to my rescue. The first time to save me from the hyenas; then from Alpha Elijah, and all those times at school when Serena’s parents had tried to throw me out…Krimson in his own twisted way had always saved me.
Even at that graduation party when I had lost all hope and my powers had consumed me…Krimson had searched for me in the pouring rain and brought me back home. He had deleted that video and saved me the humiliation in front of the pack…
Krimson had always loved me in his own way…and yet…I had never been able to see it.
