Chapter 322: You Are All I Want

Abigail

“Your little Muffin man may have been almost completely helpless but he has got his ways. This plan was made the second Jeff made the idiotic decision to inform him he was going to take you. It didn't take long for me to find the driver he had hired and pay him off to give me all the information to replace him. We wouldn't have known it would work if everyone knew about it so he made me keep it a secret and lay low.” Alec said.

I sighed, dropping my head back onto his chest and shook it.

“Thank you,” I muttered and he kissed the top of my head.

“Come on, sit in the front seat. Everyone should know by now, they are probably settling in at the hospital for Rodrigo. I will deal with the body.”

The adrenaline pumping through my veins had dimmed by the time I got into the passenger seat, a sudden wave of exhaustion taking over my mind and body. It is over. It is all over. Alec took the body from the back seat and dragged him to the side of the car where there was a cliff. Before throwing him off it, he made sure to shoot him a few more times until he was sure Jeff was dead. I closed my eyes, feeling guilt replace my calm demeanor and held my aching stomach.

“You didn't do anything wrong, he didn't care for you. This is what he deserves, this was his fate, it was uncontrollable on your end.”

He came back to the car soon after and drove us away from there, no signs of the body left behind. There wasn't a thought in my mind as we drove to the hospital in a comfortable silence, only my Muffin’s face in front of my eyes, the love I felt and would continue to feel for him and only him. He is mine and I am his, although he doesn't say it anymore, I belong to him and only him the same way he belongs to me. He consumes my mind, body and soul, every step I take and morning I wake up, every night I fall asleep, it is all for him. We belong to each other.

“Oh, Abigail.” Sonia gasped as we walked down the hallway where they had placed Rodrigo. Nicolas stood up from his seat beside her, and Lucy behind him. I wrapped my arms around Sonia as she cried into my neck.

“Gosh, you guys scared me.” She said, I smiled, tightening my hold on her and not letting go until she did. Then I hugged Nicolas whose heart was beating faster than I had ever felt before.

“Are you okay?” I asked him, he didn't say anything, just nodded against me. I pulled away and placed a kiss on his forehead.

“Thank you,” I muttered and then went to Lucy. She was holding Luke who was sleeping peacefully on her shoulder as I briefly hugged her.

“Has he seen Rodrigo yet?” I asked. She shook her head and I nodded.

“Capo?” I asked as I didn't see him there.

“He went to get some air, Rodrigo is in surgery, nothing big but they just needed to close up his wounds.” Nicolas replied.

We all sat down and waited, Capo came back from wherever he was, embraced me in a comforting hug and took his seat beside Lucy. Minutes began to pass like hours, the sound of the clock became mocking and frustrating every time it reached my ears. Now, I see the reason why Capo needed some air, everything about this was unbearable.

“Alvarez,” a nurse came out and we all stood up. She looked around.

“Immediate family first, does that apply to all of you?”

I was ready to sit down, assuming Capo would go as he was Rodrigo's elder brother but he looked at me.

“Go,” he said.

“Are you sure?” I asked. He nodded and the nurse led me over to his room, leaving me to enter alone.

I slowly pushed the door open to reveal him laying on the bed, looking out the window. My eyes burned at the mere sight of him, unbelieving of this truly being over with both of us still alive.

“Muffin,” I called and he lifted his head, turning it towards me. I walked over to his side and sat down, taking his hand as he stared at me with loving eyes.

“Are you feeling okay? Do you need anything, the nurse is just outside…” he yanked my head forward, making our lips connected into a deep and long overdue kiss that felt almost foreign to me now.

My body melted into his as he cupped my face, holding my face against his even after our lips parted. I cried for the millionth time and so did he, the words in our heads unable to form properly each time we tried to speak.

“It is over.”  I told him.

“Everything is over, they are gone and we are free. We don't need to hold ourselves back anymore, thanks to you.” He shook his head at my words.

“No, thank you.” He whispered.

“You saved my life, sweetheart, more time than I can count. I wouldn't have half of what I do now if it weren't for you.”

“And what was that?” I teased.

“Peace, I wouldn't have been able to escape James if it weren't for you. I wouldn't have been able to rekindle things with my brother if you weren't right there to back me up. You had the strength to save me and yourself from Jeff.” His voice rasped as a tear fell from his eye.

“Don't cry,” his tears made mine increase as well as the ache in my chest.

“I would do it all again if it meant I could have you in my life.”

He stared into my eyes longingly before gesturing to the cabinet beside his hospital bed.

“Go get the box in the pocket of my pants.”  I looked over at it and stood up, patting his pocket until I could feel the box he was talking about.

It was small and velvet blue, I stared suspiciously at it before handing it to him and taking a seat once again. He let out a shaky breath.

“I have been wanting to do this for a very long time but..ummm, a lot of stuff got in the way, I guess.” He laughed nervously. My ears grew hot as my heart thumped in my chest.

“You are all I wanted in life.” He began.

“You are who I have been searching for,  I know I have made a lot of mistakes and will continue to do so but I know I can be better for you and give you the love that you deserve. I know we were meant to be the second you walked through the club on that faithful day with Sonia. I am confident that I am finally worthy enough to give you all that I can and receive the endless love you have to give.”

I blinked away tears to clear my vision of him as he took my hand in his.

“Abigail Miller, would you do me the lifelong honour of becoming my queen, the woman of our home and the mother of my children and most importantly, marry me and finally become Abigail Alvarez?”

“Yes!” I exclaimed, not even letting him put the ring on before excitedly slamming my lips onto his again. I laughed happily, my smile so bright that my face hurt as he pulled away.

“I love you.” He whispered, slipping the ring into my finger.

“I love you more. I love you forever.”

“Forever,” he brought me to his lips and kissed them while smiling happily at me.

“Uncle Rodrigo!” A little voice yelled, running into the room.

“Look at my frying pan!”
