Chapter 87 87
Draven's POV
To my delight, she responded, her lips meeting mine in a gentle kiss. Time seemed to stand still as we shared that stolen moment, our hearts beating in sync.
Eventually, we pulled away, our breaths mingling in the air. I looked into her eyes and whispered to her sincerely. "You know, Hazel," I whispered, my voice filled with sincerity.
"I know you weren't trying to kiss me. But I wish you were. I wish you would wake me up every morning with a kiss." Her whole face turned a shade of red, and she looked away shyly.
"You're just teasing me again." She complained with conviction, so I made her look me in the eye, holding her gaze. "I'm not." I replied.
"Draven... How on earth are you so romantic?" she mumbled, her voice barely audible. I couldn't help but smile, my heart swelling with affection for this incredible girl in my arms.
"Well, Hazel, I can't help it. Being with you brings out the romantic part of me." She leaned in, her head resting against my chest, listening to my heartbeat.
"And being with you makes me happy," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity and something more.
Hazel's POV
My head rested gently on Draven's chest, and I could hear the rhythmic sound of his heart beating. It was a comforting sound, like a lullaby, calming me down.
I blushed hard, feeling my cheeks turn a shade of pink as I thought about all the things he had just said. Being with Dravenfor just a month had made me happier than I had ever been in my entire life.
He made me feel wanted, cared for, secure, and loved. I wanted to freeze every moment spent with him, to savour it and make it last forever.
But then, out of nowhere, the thought of food popped into my mind. My tummy let out a loud, embarrassing grumble. Oh no! I froze in embarrassment, hoping that Dravenhadn't heard it.
But of course, he did. He let out a throaty chuckle, and I could feel the vibrations against my cheek. "Why are you laughing at me?" I asked, trying to hide my embarrassment with a pout.
Draven's laughter continued, and he gently lifted my chin to meet his eyes. "Remember what happened last night?"
I furrowed my brow, trying to recall what he was talking about. And then it hit me like a lightning bolt. We had been talking about the moon goddess, and I had mentioned how hungry I was.
Just as I finished speaking, the maid who had been sent to bring me food returned with a tray filled with delicious dishes. The moment the mouthwatering aroma reached my nose, Ashe decided to make its presence known with a loud grumble.
I couldn't help but giggle at the memory and how embarrassed I felt before the maid and Draven. "Oh, I remember now! My tummy betrayed me!"
Draven playfully ruffled my hair. "Yes, it did. But you know what? That's one of the things I admire about you, Hazel. You're real, and your grumbling tummy is a part of who you are.
You're different from the other lady's that cared so much about looking beautiful and acting like a goddess in front of you."
"Are you talking about Debbie?" I questioned him, but he didn't respond. It seems he didn't like talking about her either, which is perfect.
But as much as I wanted to freeze time and stay in that moment forever, reality called me back. My tummy grumble again, and I knew if I didn't eat soon, then Ashe would be naughty again.
I blushed once more, peeking up at Draven. "Um, would you mind if we got something to eat? Ashe seems to be demanding attention."
Draven laughed heartily, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Of course, Hazel. Let's go and satisfy that hungry tummy of yours. Draven called for a maid and asked her to bring breakfast to our room.
The maid nodded and left to fetch our meal. After a little while, she returned with a tray filled with delicious food. My tummy grumbled in anticipation, and I couldn't wait to dig in!
I hurried over to the small table where I usually had my meals whenever I wished to dine in the room. Draven joined me, but he didn't eat anything.
Instead, he watched me intently as I stuffed my mouth with food. It felt a bit strange to have someone staring at me while I ate, but I didn't mind too much.
Suddenly, Draven leaned in closer and whispered, "Hazel, you should eat slowly. You might choke. No one's going to take your food away from you."
I frowned, feeling a bit offended. "I know that, Draven. It's not my fault! Ashe is just... really hungry, and I'm doing my best to feed my unborn baby." I stuttered
Draven chuckled sarcastically. "Oh, I see. So, it's Ashe's fault, huh? Blame it on the poor pup." I pouted and decided not to listen to him anymore. I ignored his teasing and continued to enjoy my meal nonchalantly.
Finally, when I couldn't eat another bite, I relaxed back in my chair and grabbed a glass of juice. I took a long sip, feeling refreshed and content.
Draven smiled warmly at me. "Good job, Hazel. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal." Draven said. I beamed at him, feeling proud of myself.
"Thank you, Draven! The food was so yummy. I'm happy and full now!" He nodded, his eyes filled with affection.
Draven's POV
As we held each other's gaze, relishing the moment, a maid walked in, interrupting our moment.
"Please forgive me, Alpha Draven And Miss Hazel, but Jason has arrived and wants to have a word with Alpha Draven." She informed us that Jason had arrived and was waiting for me in the receiving hall.
I glanced at Hazel and noticed a hint of sadness in her expression. It seemed like she wanted to be extra clingy today, and I was more than happy to oblige.
I turned to the maid and said, "Please have Jason seated in the dining area downstairs. Let him have breakfast, and let him know I'll join him later. I'm just taking a quick shower."
The maid nodded respectfully and left the room. Hazel looked at me and said, "You can go, Draven. I'll just read some books here."
I shook my head, smiling gently. "No, Hazel. I want you to come with me. It's always more fun when we're together. Quickly go and have your bath, and I'll join you after."
Hazel looked confused, her brows furrowing. "But why do I need to do that? I'll just stay here; it's better than causing trouble for you."
I leaned in closer, teasingly. "Hmm, is it because you want us to bathe together? Is that why you're not moving?"
Hazel pushed me away, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. "Draven! That's not what I meant! You're so silly!"
I burst into laughter, thoroughly enjoying the playful banter. "I know, I know. I was just teasing you, Hazel. Go on now, have your bath, and I'll be right behind you."
Hazel rolled her eyes playfully but couldn't hide the smile on her face. She quickly gathered her things and headed towards the bathroom. I watched her go, feeling a surge of love and affection for the girl who brought so much joy into my life.
After a few minutes, she got out of the bathroom in a towel, and I immediately went in, trying my best not to look at her cleavage. Once we were both refreshed and ready, we got dressed and made our way downstairs.
Jason was already seated at the dining table, happily enjoying his breakfast. He looked up and smiled warmly as we approached. "Good morning, Alpha Draven. Luna Hazel," he greeted us.
"Skip the formalities, Jason," I replied. "Good morning. I hope you enjoyed your meal. Sorry for keeping you waiting." Hazel chimed in, sounding apologetic.
Jason chuckled. "No worries, Hazel. The food here is delicious. I couldn't resist."
"I can relate to that." Hazel said it with a bright smile. For some reason, that seemed to infuriate me, but why? I got to Hazel's side and held her by the waist, bringing her in to me.
Jason gazed up at me in confusion for a few seconds, but after that, his expression changed to one of amusement, and he tried his best to contain his laughter.
"What are you doing, Draven?" I heard Hazel say it in a hushed tone and looked down on her. "Let me go," she urged. But I didn't let go.
"Let's move this to the receiving room, Jason." I surprised myself. Why did I become so formal all of a sudden?
"I thought you wanted us to skip the formalities?" Jason teased before letting out a throaty chuckle at my expression. "Very well then, Alpha Draven." He replied with a smirk.
