Chapter 47 47

Chapter 47 47
Third Person POV
Hazel stood awkwardly alone in the living room. Noah has just taken Alice and disappeared; it wasn't something she had expected from him. She turned around hesitantly and faced Sara.
"Uuhm, so I'll be going now," she said awkwardly as she walked slowly towards the door. Sara watched her for a few moments while she smiled at Hazel.
"Are you feeling all better?" She asked Hazel, who was half a meter away from the door. Hazel nodded her head as she turned to look at the smiling old lady.
"Oohh, don't mind me, I was simply reminded of the better days," she said. "When I was in love and cared about nothing else but the man whom I loved," she finished.
Hazel shifted from toe to toe, unsure of how to respond to her; she didn't want to ask any questions that would extend her time there with Sara.
"How have you been enjoying my medicine?" She asked suddenly; irritation flashed through Hazel's eyes, but she forced down the feeling; she wanted out of here, not stuck here while she explained just how horrendous the taste of her medicines were.
"I'll be sending over some new ones I made for you," she continued. Hazel shook her head at Sara profusely. "No, I'm fine," she said.
"I've never felt better," she finished. Sara chuckled a bit as she stood up. She silently walked down the stairs as if going to bring something for Hazel; every part of her body told her to run, to leave, that her chance was now, but her curiosity also made her wait, wanting to see what was being brought.
After a few moments, Sara climbed up with two more vials of light green liquids. "I promise you it's not as bad as the others," she said, smiling. "Oohh, you knew," Hazel said with sudden realization.
"Of course," she cackled. "I made them after all," she said, dumping the two vials in my hands. She walked off into her house as she made a shooing motion with her hands.
"It'll help you when the time is right," she said in a wistful tone. She held the two vails in her hand, turned around, and left. She didn't want to wait any longer or ask more questions like, What does it do?
Or what did you mean by that? She was simply tired of today's events and was going to rest; she was too exhausted from the events that had been happening in the last few days.
Hazel walked with just her thoughts to herself for quite some time; she would be occasionally greeted as the Luna from time to time as she walked, but that only served to distract her from her thoughts.
The statement Sara had made was on her mind since it had been spoken; she could imagine it going so wrong in a hundred ways, and yet the thought of it filled her with excitement and exhilaration.
She brimmed with expectations, but sadly, she knew this was the case only for her. She couldn't understand what went through Draven 's head from time to time, but one thing she was sure about was that he wasn't looking forward to what Sara had said.
At least not as much as she was. She arrived at the mansion and rushed up the stairs. She got to her room and closed the door behind her. She noticed that her window had been fixed once again; it was the second time this week that she had witnessed breaking window panes.
"I'm tired," she said to herself as she slugged down on her bed. She took out the two vials of light green liquid and wondered to herself if she should drink it or not.
"It can't be poison," she thought as she uncorked one and threw it down her throat. To her surprise, it wasn't as bitter as she had come to expect it to be; it was simply bland with a sour aftertaste.
"Much better," she claimed her bed and laid on it. She felt exhausted and tired; sleep came faster than she expected, but a few moments later she lay peacefully in bed, sleeping.

Thalia stood idly in her room; she had finally run out of patience and was beyond worried for Adrian; he had never gone this long without picking up his phone or replying to his call; even sending a text would be okay.
She had even used her mother's phone to call, but it was the same thing; she was sure that something dangerous had happened to him. Although she wouldn't dare call Hazel, she'd rather crawl in the streets than call her sister to ask about the well-being of Adrian.
But she also couldn't call his uncle; that man left too much of an impression on her, something dangerous that should not be messed with so naturally.
Thalia avoided Alpha Draven at all costs; she stood up and married her bags; she would figure out what to do when she got there. She was tired of sitting and waiting, hoping for a call or a text.
She had even hoped that maybe Adrian would have seen the news going on and around with the media, but nothing; she had gotten calls and texts from several business associates, all except her most important, Adrian.
She opened her door in a rush and passed through, heading all the way downstairs in a hurry. She ran into her uncle on the way downstairs.
"Where are you heading to in such a hurry?" Alpha Dorian asked his daughter; she rolled her eyes in frustration. Everyone always has bad timing when it comes to her.
"I'm going out to meet a friend," she responded in kind, not wanting to push the conversation any further, but her uncle didn't look like he was going to end it just there.
"I saw the news today; were you responsible for that?" She asked, slowly getting angry. Thalia could feel his anger rising but laughed inwardly.
"And if I did?" She retorted back at him. "How could you do this, Thalia?" Alpha Dorian blew up in her face. "After that humiliation and disrespect that was shown to us by Draven and his son, you would dare proclaim you and that bastard's son as engaged?" He shouted.
"I will do whatever I want with my life dad." Thalia shot back at him; she didn't like being talked down on, especially by people she was obviously better than who couldn't even run a proper business.
"And tell me, dad, should we lose our greatest partners because of a stupid reason such as this?" She questioned him angrily, "What do you think funds your personal business?"
"Who do you think makes sure you don't get caught or exposed, or uses Adrian as a cover?" she looked at her, feeling irritated.
"It's all me, me," she pointed at herself. "If you think you can do better, then by all means, do so." She turned her hand and pointed at Alpha Dorian.
"But if you can't do much, can you handle half of what I do? Then never question whatever decisions I make; is that understood?" She said slowly calming herself down.
She didn't like showing this side of her, but sometimes it was needed, especially in situations where her uncle was being difficult or simply stubborn.
She turned around and walked out of the house, into her car. Usually she would get herself a driver, but she wasn't feeling like it today; she wanted to drive and feel the wind in her face. She got in and drove off in a hurry.
Whatever had happened to Adrian, she was expecting an explanation from him. After an hour of driving, she finally arrived at the Diamond pack. She drove in and found the mansion that belonged to the Alpha; she had prepared herself to confront Alpha Draven, which she had too.
She parked her car and walked up the stairs. She knocked on the door a few times and waited calmly. A female servant opened the door and bowed at her slightly after assessing her clothes and outfit.
"I need to see the Alpha," she said without hesitation. The maid murmured to herself a bit, "The Alpha isn't around, I'm afraid," she replied.
"Then get me whoever is second in charge, the beta of the pack." The girl nodded and headed inside, leaving the door open. Thalia didn't go inside; she didn't think she had a reason to; all she wanted was to ask a few questions and be in her way.
Thalia heard footsteps coming down the stairs; she looked up in anticipation, expecting to see either Adrian or Walter, but her eyes were with Hazel's.
"What are you doing here, Bitch?" Hazel's voice sounded through the halls as she glared at Thalia, who was also shocked as to why a slave like Hazel was called instead.
