Chapter 23 Stubborn mate
Ben returned with what I asked him.
I regarded Chloe for another moment. Such a frightened little human. I didn't want to get blood on my hands over some humans.
Besides, my wolf was currently undergoing healing. But I will definitely be shedding blood this time around.
“We will leave in two days,” I revealed and turned to Ben. “Prepare a room for her but make sure she's not able to move around the packhouse or see Aria until I say otherwise.”
Ben bowed slightly and I stepped out.
I still felt weak due to the effects of the wolfbane. Only heaven knows what would have happened if I hadn't opened her door the time I did.
I just had a lot to take care of at the company. And I must admit, I had really missed Aria so much which was why I headed to her room immediately after showering.
If Aria had jumped down, she might not have made it. And I would never have forgiven myself.
Maybe finding a new room for her would be the best. Or maybe just leaving her chained will work better.
“Alpha,” Ben called from behind.
I turned to him. “Yes?”
“Are you really going to attack Kael?”
I clenched my teeth. “Kael was the first to disturb me. I've been on my own for a while now. But who knew Kael was actually plotting against me? Since this is what he wants, I will give it to him.”
“Will you be informing the elders?”
“They don't need to know,” I turned around to leave, but stopped suddenly.
Maybe I don't even need to change her room or keep her chained. I would go for the best solution.
“Make sure she's kept hidden well, and words don't get out about her,” I instructed before I eventually walked away.
I moved towards Aria’s room. Due to my sharp earrings, I could hear her swear several times.
Typical Aria. My little stubborn human mate.
I hesitated slightly before I pushed the door open.
Aria was wrestling with the chain with her free hands as if she could unchain herself like that.
“Keep trying but you can't do it,” I voiced out, making her look up at me.
“Come and unchain me this instant! You can't just keep me chained here like this!”
I laugh at her tantrums.
“Calm down, I plan to,” I smirked as I moved closer to sit beside her.
“How can you chain your mate? Is that how you all treat your mate around here?”
“What did Chloe tell you about mates?”
She hesitated. “Where's Chloe?”
“Alife,” I looked away. “At the moment.”
She gasped. “Are you going to kill her?”
Shrugging, I said. “Might have to but I don't plan to.”
She relaxed back. “Why didn't you tell me you are my mate?”
“And what would that have done? Would that have made you stay?”
She blinked once, then twice. “No! I still want to leave right now.”
I laughed again. I guessed right. Werewolves are the only ones concerned about mates. To the humans, it was nothing.
Or maybe it was because they don't easily feel the bond. She would feel the attraction alright, but it wouldn't be as much as having a wolf or actually being marked.
Which is why I'm going to mark her. When I mark her, I can easily track her whereabouts, and I wouldn't have to worry about her escaping.
The earlier she accepts, the better for her.
“Now, get this off me!” She yelled again.
“Calm down, baby girl,” I said softly, as I climbed onto the bed, so I'm looking at her directly now.
I moved closer to her slightly, while locking gaze with her.
She adjusted backwards, her small pink lips slightly parted, and was getting me in the mood.
I have a lot of plans for her lips, but well, not yet. Looks like it would take a lot of time with my kind of mate.
“Move back!” She yelled again when she regained herself. “Just remove the chain and get lost!”
I scoffed. Only my mate can say that and get away with it. If it were someone else, his head would instantly be missing from his neck.
But she was already getting on my nerves.
“Don't try," I started, as I moved even closer to her while watching her back off until she could no longer, as her back hit the bed rest.
I steadied my hands at her side, securing her so she wouldn't even be able to run. Not that she could anyway, with the chain on her left hand.
I stopped, my face just a few inches away from hers.
Her eyes went wide with shock, her lips still slightly parted as she continued to stare at me.
“Don't provoke your mate further, Aria. I know what I can do, but I'm not even doing half of it,” I said threateningly.
She blinked once as she pushed even further into the bed rest as if she could go through it.
“But_” I smiled. “How can I be mad at you,” I muttered and used my left hand to brush her hair off her face. “You are my mate afterall.”
“What are you going to do to me?”
I ignored her question and lowered my head, not to kiss her but to claim the space beneath her jaw, where my mark would be.
I let my presence linger there as her strawberry scent filled my head, almost making me lose control.
Just a little weak human but she affects me so much.
“W_what are you doing?” She muttered, her voice barely audible.
“Remember the way I currently make you feel?” I started dangerously, unmoving from my position. “You will soon feel it a hundredfold when I'm done.”
Then I moved back to stare at her hazel eyes.
“What do you_”
I went back in again, but this time, I traced my tongue slowly along her skin. I lingered beneath her jaw, drinking in a taste of her, and letting the moment stretch until control itself felt like a threat.
Her moan slipped out yet, before she could stop it. She could fight it all she wanted but her body already knew the truth.
She was mine! And will forever be!
