Chapter 14 Teasingly
But the window was high up. I would need something to aid me.
Yet, I tried to reach it but despite my struggle, I couldn't.
“Miss, are you alright there?” Chloe called.
I grunted. “Yes, I'm fine!”
Finally settling down on the floor again, I stared up at the window. I will fix the problem and get out of here as quickly as possible.
Stepping out again, my gaze went to the wall clock. It's already ten in the night and I will definitely be sleeping late, thanks to Lucian for drugging me.
“The chef said you love vanilla cakes. So, I got you exactly that.”
Oh, Lucian told the chef about my favourite? Now that's interesting.
“Thanks,” I muttered and settled on the chair. “It's late already. You should go to bed.”
“I'm not really feeling sleepy. I mean we could talk some more.”
I shook my head briefly. “We can always continue our conversation tomorrow. Find something to eat and sleep,” I insisted.
Chloe hesitated briefly, then smiled. “Alright then. Good night miss,” she said finally, and left.
I released a sigh and leapt up as if I was being chased. I hurried into the bathroom again, this time, calculating.
There must be something I can use. Something like a rope!
If I could get it around something, then I could climb up with the rope, then use it to climb down as well.
Rope or a blanket!
Yes! My blanket!
I dashed into the bedroom again, but I was forced into another sudden stop as I stared at who was sitting on my bed.
“I saw you already excuse Chloe.” A smile tugged at his upper lip. “So, I decided to come and check how you're doing. You should be planning your sleep now.”
“My bedtime is none of your concern.”
“Well, you belong to me now. So, everything about you is my concern,” he muttered thickly and I couldn't help but feel a slight tinge at it.
The way he claims me seems so romantic, yet so crazy!
“I will sleep soon, you can leave!’ I responded harshly.
I needed him to leave so I could escape.
“Well, I'm not here alone,” he started and almost immediately, a man walked inside, carrying a box. He bowed slightly.
I regarded him for a moment. “Who is he?”
“A doctor. I need to get your blood checked. The drug didn't even work as it should have on you. There must be something wrong somewhere.”
I scoffed. “You brought a doctor because I woke up earlier than you scheduled?”
“Not really. It's because you are supposed to be human.”
I gathered my forehead at this. “Are you saying I might not be human?”
I hoped for this so much when I was still young but I came to realise it will never happen the way I want. I just needed to learn to live with it.
“I'm human alright. I was sent out of the pack because I was human.”
“I know,” he smirked.
I felt a stab of annoyance at that. “Is there really anything you don't know about me?”
“Let's see_” he hesitated briefly, his finger on his chin as if seriously thinking about it. “There's none. In fact, I know you are still a virgin.”
What! In front of someone.
“You are so annoying!” I yelled, unable to hold it.
He laughed anyway. “The doctor will take a sample of your blood then.”
“I'm not interested! Tell him to get lost!”
“Not happening. Jude is taking your blood now!” He said firmly.
Ignoring his words, I hurried towards the door, but he was suddenly standing in front of me.
“Stay still, Aria,” he warned.
I adjusted back slightly as my gaze searched around me for what to do.
The bathroom!
“It's not going to hurt, I promise,” Lucian was saying as I continued to retreat.
“That was what you said before you drugged me!” I yelled at him and seeing that I was close to the bathroom already, I made a run for it.
But I was suddenly stuck midway, a strong arm wrapped around my waist. Heat rushed into me at the contact and a sigh escaped my throat.
“Come here, Aria,” he muttered, lifted me up effortlessly, and walked to the bed.
Then, he gently sat and placed me between his legs so my back was touching his chest.
“It's not going to hurt, I promise,” he repeated in a soft voice, his fingers combing through my hair.
“I don't believe you!”
He laughed, something I realized sounded even more pleasing.
“You can kiss me if it doesn't hurt,” he muttered.
What! Does he want to kiss me so badly?
“Do your job.”
The doctor moved closer with a box. He placed them safely on the bed beside us and brought out a syringe.
He hesitated and looked at me. “This is going to hurt a bit.”
“Continue,” Lucian ordered.
I groaned when the needle entered my skin, but it was so fast, and he was done. He stepped back with his box again.
“The result should be ready in two days, Alpha.”
“Good, you are dismissed.”
The doctor bowed and walked out.
“So, did it hurt?” Lucian asked, his fingers back to combing my hair.
I love the feel of his hand in my hair. It makes me feel relaxed. So, I closed my eyes, savouring the moment.
“Aria?” He called softly.
“What?”
“Did it hurt?”
I hesitated briefly. If I say no, that means I would be kissing him, right?
“Yes! It hurts so bad.”
He didn't reply immediately. Now, I could hear his heartbeat against my back.
“I will make it up to you then. Tell me what you want,” his voice was still soft. “I will do it.”
I raised a brow, a bit shocked. “Anything?”
“Yes.”
“Then let me go! I will pay you back when I earn some money.”
He pushed me up and whirled me around to face him. Then, he made me sit on his lap, while my legs went around his body.
I'm forced to look at him.
“Tell me, Aria. Do you feel anything whenever I touch you?”
What kind of tricky question is this? Just being close to him like this affects me so much.
He reached for my chin and tilted my head so I was forced to lock gaze with him.
“Tell me?”
I swallow harder. “No, I don't. I don't feel anything,” I lied.
He regarded me for a moment, then smiled. “OK,” he muttered and set me on my feet again.
Then, he stood up and moved towards the door. Good! He should leave me alone. Did he expect me to say yes? So he can feel pompous. I mean, the mighty Lucian has always been pompous because he's wanted by a majority of women, both humans and werewolves.
“Goodnight!” I voiced out, without looking at him.
“Goodnight?” His voice cracked a bit. “You should save it for later because I'm sleeping here.”
What! No!
