Chapter 21 Chapter 21
They glared at me but walked out. Alessio, Nikolai’s brother, was at the back but stopped and looked at me.
“What exactly is your relationship with my brother?” he asked.
I looked at him but didn't answer, just stared at him. “Well?” he asked again.
“Leave; you have two minutes before Ares steps in.”
He chuckled but walked out, I sat down on the couch. Okay, what was going on with this family, and what was going on with him?
I headed to my room and opened my laptop. I began searching the web for the Ferro family, and the results popped up. Before, when I searched, I didn't find anything, but now I could; I guess he blocked it from me.

Wikipedia Entry: Nikolai Ferro (Summary)
Nikolai Alessandro Ferro (born 1996) is an Italian-Swiss industrialist, venture capitalist, and the Chairman of The Ferro Group. He is widely considered one of the most influential private citizens in the world.
Business Empire & Ownerships: The Ferro Group operates as a massive conglomerate with its hands in every major sector:
Vanguard Intelligence & Defense: A private firm providing high-level security and tactical AI for world governments.
Ferro Global Shipping: Owns the largest fleet of cargo vessels in the Mediterranean and Atlantic (notably absorbing the old Valerius routes).
Aethelgard Tech: A leader in blockchain encryption and cybersecurity.
Onyx Luxury Real Estate: Owns dozens of high-rise skyscrapers in London, NYC, and Dubai, alongside private islands used for "high-profile retreats."
Public Persona and "Hades" Moniker: While known publicly as a philanthropist and cold-blooded businessman, Ferro has a darker reputation in the intelligence and criminal communities. He is frequently referred to as "Hades."
Underworld Influence: Rumored to be the supreme head of a "High Table" of organized crime syndicates. It is said that no blood is spilled in Europe without his permission.
The "Hades" Legend: The nickname stems from his habit of making his enemies "disappear" into his private prisons or the deep ocean places from which no one returns.
Criminal Allegations: Linked to multiple high-profile assassinations and "corporate liquidations" that left zero evidence. Interpol has opened three investigations into the Ferro Group; all three were shut down within forty-eight hours due to "lack of cooperation" from witnesses.
I leaned back, staring at the screen. The world called him a billionaire, but the streets called him Hades. God of the Underworld. The man who owned the dead.
I looked at the list of his companies. He didn't just have money; he had control in everything. Shipping, tech, weapons, even the ground I walked on probably had his name on the deed. And right in the middle of it all was me, Natalie De Luca, the girl he’d spent five years molding into a weapon sharp enough for a god to carry. I guess that was the reason; he wanted someone he could trust, someone that would never betray him.
I was still there when I heard hurried footsteps; Ares stood up and cocked his head. I opened the door and froze for a second, A few men were bringing Nikolai up the stairs, his shirt was stained with blood. Jules was behind them. I saw the doctor.
“Jules
“Madam Just a moment.” he said, they walked into a room all the way at the back, i followed them into the rom, the doctors were busy cutting is shirt open.
“What happened to him?”
“Ambushed, They were heading somewhere, and they blocked them on the road. The boss and a few others escaped, but they went after them; the boss got shot two times. This is normal.” he said and i looked at him.
“She takes charge of Vanguard ad everything else,Jules pass the order.” I heard him say, and I turned and looked at him, and his eyes were on me. I just nodded.
I walked out and let the doctors treat him. Jules found me in the hallway.
“Madam, please follow me to the office,” he said.
When we walked into the office it was cold. He walked around the table and opened the laptop. “Madan, the passcode for the laptop is your birthday,” he said. There was a knock at the door, and a man came in.
“Arlo, you’re here. This is the madam. The boss was ambushed, and she is in charge until he returns.” Jules said, and he nodded.
“Okay, Madam. These are the files on the contracts that are currently important. I will make the announcement as soon as I return to the company and await your arrival tomorrow. I will treat you the same as my boss.” he said,
“Thank you, and I’ll make sure the work goes smoothly.”
After he left, i sat down and read over he files, I read until i gave myself a headache, As i was about to leave the door opened.
“Madam, the doctors have left. I’ll prepare some nourishing soup for the sir.” Maria said.
I heeded up to the room, When i walked in he was asleep. I closed the door and stood looking at him with arms folded. He opened his eyes and looked at me. I walked over and stood at the bedside. He opened his eyes and looked at me, but I didn't say anything.
He sat up leaning back against the headboard. “Handle it, my family too,” he said. I stared at him what exactly was going o his head, why trust me so much.
“Something wrong?” He asked.
“Why me?”
And for the first time since Nikolai Ferro entered my life, he smiled, and that caught me off guard. He was handsome, but even more so when he smiled.
“I have my reasons, Watch out for the Moretti, Jules and Wesly never leave your side. Brax will find whatever you need. And Isla,” he said.
“What?”
“Stay Alive.” he said softly, his eyes piercing mine and for a moment i saw it in his eyes it was quick but it was there none the less and i didnt like it.
“I wont die…” At the same time the door opened and Maria walked in with the tray.
“Madam, why don't you feed him? He can't really move his hands,” she said, handing the tray to me and walking out fast as if she were afraid. I took the tray over and set it on the bedside table. I pulled a chair and sat beside him. I fed him the soup; I didn't say a word, and he just kept looking at me.
