Chapter 20 Chapter 20

Chapter 20 Chapter 20
I told him what I found out about my parents; we sat there and talked late into the afternoon. When I left, it was close to seven. When I got back to the house, Ares ran towards me. I knelt down and rubbed his head.

“I missed you. Yes i missed you.”
I saw Maria coming over. “Madam, the girl took ill,” she said.
“Send for a doctor to see her.”

“Yes, Madam,” she replied, walking away. When I walked further into the house. He was sitting at the dining table with the same woman; now she was wearing different clothes.
“Dinner is ready,” he said.
“Not hungry,” I said as I continued up the stairs. After a shower, I got dressed and headed down to the gym.

“Wesley?”
“Yes, Madam?”

“Come spar with me. “If you refuse, fine, but no one else,” I said, heading towards the gym. Ten minutes later Nikolai walked in. He came over to me, and I stepped back. He stood looking at me, he took another step towards me.

“You stink; don’t touch me,” I said before walking around him and walking out back. I noticed it a few days ago; there was a huge tarmac out back. I could go for a run, and so could Ares. After two hours, I headed back inside. I found Maria waiting for me in the kitchen.

“Madam, I summoned the doctor; she is weak. He gave her some medication, she is asleep. Also, you haven't had dinner; neither has Master Nikolai.” she said.
Wait, what? , “Wasn’t he eating earlier with his guest?”

“He was waiting for you. But after you walked away, he had me remove the plate, and only Sylvia ate,” she said.
“Okay, I’ll take a shower and have dinner.”
“Okay, I’ll reheat the food.”

After a shower, I headed back down to dinner. When I walked in, he was already sitting there. I sat down, and Maria brought our food out. He didn't look at me; he just ate. I was halfway through eating when the woman walked in, and I dropped the fork harder than I meant to.
“Niko…,” she started saying, but his words cut her off.
“Leave, now,” he said in that low, cold tone, and she froze.

“Nik….” She stared again.
“Wesley, get her out of here; I’m eating,” he said.

She didn't wait for Wesley; she turned on her heels and walked out. I picked up my fork and began eating. I could feel his eyes on me, but I didn't look up; I just continued eating. After I was finished, I set my fork down and looked at him.

“Arrange a place for me to stay…”
“No, you’re not leaving,” he said.

I stood up and looked at him. “I don't share anything, not even my space,” I said before walking out. I was halfway to my room, and I stopped. I had no right here; he did me a favor by sending me away. It wasn't really a favor; he wanted to use me. That was the only reason I was here, no other reason. I was being unreasonable. He was my benefactor and my employer, and I was his employee nothing more.

The next morning when I went down for breakfast, she was already there.
“Morning,” I said, taking my normal seat. Maria came out and put breakfast in front of me. Ares was beside me.
“I heard your Name is Natalie, i am Sylvia, Nikolai’s first love,” she said in a sweet voice and my fork froze halfway to my mouth for a split second, then i continued  eating as normal.

“Okay” i replied and continued eating.
“So what exactly is your job?” she asked. I didn't answer; I couldn't even if I wanted to. My chest suddenly felt tight, and I couldn't swallow properly.
“So?” she asked again, but I still didn’t answer. I hurried through my breakfast and stood up.

“Mr. Ferro, Ms. Rhodes is not a match; I suggest you let your family know and cut this short. If there are any more tasks, please let me know.”

“Is…” He started saying, but I was already gone. After a workout session, I took Ares for a run. I saw the cars coming in, and I knew it was his family, but I didn’t go in. I stayed on the tarmac with Ares. I was there for almost two hours when Wesley came to get me.
“Madam, it’s bad,” he said.

I stopped and looked at him. “What happened?”

“The Rhodes have come to get their daughter, The old Madam told them the engagement was canceled. Sylvia declared that she was going to be Sir’s wife, and the old madam lost her shit, and they’re fighting.” he said
“And Nikolai?” I asked.

“He’s worse; he isn't saying anything,” he said with frustration.
“Fine, let's go deal with this.”

We walked back into the house; Ares was beside me. When we walked into the living room, it was a whole scene. Isadora, Anabella, Sylvia, Blair, and Vivian were going at it, yelling at each other, and Nikolai was just sitting there.

“SHUT UP ALL OF YOU. NOW.”
They all went quiet and looked at me.
“How dare you speak to me like that?” Isadora yelled.

“I said shut up. You,” I said, pointing at Vivian. “Your daughter isn't worthy. She’s weak and pathetic and not fit to be the wife of anyone of importance. The engagement is canceled; you’ll be repaid for the trouble. Take her and leave; you have two minutes before I let Ares loose on you.”
Alistair looked like he wanted to yell; his face had turned a shade of red that I knew all too well.
“Five… four… three…”

They grabbed Blair and basically dragged her out. I looked at Sylvia. She was quiet.
“Did Mr. Ferro say you would be his wife?”
“He doesn't need to say it.” She said with an air of authority. I let out a sigh. I looked at him.
“Your answer, Mr. Ferro?”

“No” he said standing up and walking out, he stopped halfway. “I’m not interested in marriage to anyone,” he said and continued walking.
I looked at Sylvia. “You heard that, right? Now leave.”
“No, I won’t, not until I speak to Nikolai. He loves me.” she said

“No, I don’t.” When I turned around, he was standing there, wearing another suit.
“Nikolai. I'm your first love. I love…

“I don’t care; the fact remains that I don’t feel anything for you. I let you stay here out of pity. So I will send you somewhere else to stay.” He said, walking out of the house. He stopped once more.

“Also, Natalie had permission to make decisions on my behalf; whatever she says goes,” he said before walking out.
“This… this unfilial boy,” Isadora said, grabbing her chest.
“Jules
“Yes, Ms.?” Jules asked.
“Take her, get her belongings, and take her out. Ask your boss where she should go.”
“Yes, Ms.,” he replied, grabbing Sylvia by the arm and leading her out.

I looked at Isadora. “Now, Mr. Ferro had made his declaration. I suggest you all leave.”
