Chapter 34 Chapter 34

Chapter 34 Chapter 34

ALINA'S POV

He walked right off after that. After saying that. Dropping that bomb.

On me.

In front of Cleo!

Not like I wouldn't tell her everything at the end of the day, but still.

I would've avoided this;

"Oh, this is so going of be one hell of a residence!" She grinned as she watched him go. Every bit of her mocking. Mocking me.

I could already hear it.

"I told you this wasn't normal. This wasn't a normal residence employees occupied. I told so!"

Ughhh.

"Let's go," I pulled her away, heading for the gates. Her chuckles ringing out into the air and my ears.

"It's a vacation! It's going to be like a vacation. A vacation with the boss but! ALONE."

"Oh my God! Will you stop it?" I turned around to her, mortified. "None of this is funny at all, why are you making jokes??"

She laughed out instead. "Look at your face, you're mortified!"

"I am!" I called out exasperated. Flinging my arms around. Handing over her bag.

"This isn't funny, Cleo. It has to be a mistake. It is a mistake."

"A mistake?"

"Yes. He's just pulling your legs, our legs. Throwing jokes, stupid jokes! You know how he is."

"Hmm. I don't actually. But you do, that's why this is so funny and messed up. This is messed up."

"It's a joke," I insisted, "He can't possibly live here. He won't give this place otherwise, have you forgotten he hates my guts?"

"Errm, new set of clothes, heels, jewelleries, make up kit...'flowers' and even food, doesn't exactly scream I hate your guts, girl."

What?

"Whatever." I waved off, refusing to register that. "It's a joke, that's it. Now go."

I pushed her forward. The security there already out to escort her further out. To the ride we booked.

She chuckled, facing me one last time. A twinkle in her eyes.

"Oh I love seeing you break character. Bad Linaaa. You go girl!"

"What. What are you on about again? Are you still drunk?"

She laughed. Loud. Turning away. Leaving.

"Talk later sweet cheeks!"

Yeah right.

"Later," I still called out, watching her leave with the security. Fading off, before I finally turned around to head back to the building.

Events from moments ago crashing in like rain. Every bit replaying, almost unbelievable. I would think I imagined it but then the car parked in front of the building said otherwise.

A red car.

Aston Martin DB11 Cleo called it.

It was sure as hell expensive. And bloody too. So red and bloody. Like the bastard himself. Complete bad news!

"Oh God," I sighed as I walked past. Making sure to keep my distance. The sound of security rushing over to it reaching my ears too. To take it to the garage or something I assumed. Still, that wasn't important.

Important thing was confronting that bastard. Seeing him face to face for him to repeat those words and explain why he said them in the first place.

But until I reached my elevator again. The opening to my room, it was only then I realised I didn't know what part of the building he occupied or at least what room was his.

"Maybe he's on another section of the building?" I muttered, wondering out loud. "Maybe a part employees don't occupy? Master's section?"

That would make sense. I mean, if this really was his building and... maybe, just maybe he was living here.

He would live apart from his employees occupying his building. Right?

He wouldn't stay close or within range, he was after all too arrogant to do so too.

"Yeah, that's probably it." I muttered, affirming my thoughts. "That's it."

Since it was, no use worrying or thinking anything.

"I'll just head into my apartment and mind my business."

Which I did.

Only that as I pressed on the elevator to open, a dinging sound came from the one next to mine. Alerting my attention.

Then lo and behold,

"Hello neighbor,"

He came out.

He.came. OUT!

"I see you're setting down easy back in there. That's good." He shook his head, pressing a button on the elevator. Keeping the doors open. The view behind him real.

A home.

An apartment.

A room!

"Just so you know," he added, grabbing my attention again. "I hate noise. Anytime of noise. So keep things in there on a minimum, I'll hate for us to have a problem so soon. Alright?"

I stared at him. Stared at him again, and again and again.

Was this a joke? A real life show or something?

What was he doing standing in the elevator next to mine?

Like right next to mine.

How? Why??

"Later," his voice called out, tapping a button again and the doors began shutting. Right in front of my face.

But just as it closed completely, I rushed to It. Sticking my foot behind to halt it's movement and it opened right back.

The bastard's questioning stare awaiting me, but I didn't give a shit. I only stepped right into the elevator, pushed him out of the way as I stepped into the room. The apartment.

And the moment I did, it hit me.

Excellence.

Luxury.

Sophistication.

Sheer opulence and wealth in every corner!

There were gold trimmed literally into every object in the living room. Everything shiny and blinding if you'd add the lights.

What the hell was this place? A home or a display room??

Pushing that aside, I stepped in more into the space. Seeing the couch, living room, kitchen- fully furnished, stacked with foodstuffs, snacks, drinks and everything.

I headed for the other doors, noting they were more here than in mine. Each one leading to far more than I imagined.

A full male closet in one. A female themed one in another. Everything fully furnished, stacked to the brim! Recreational centre, private movie room, gym, study, a huge balcony leading to another section of the building I never knew existed even.

A pathway leading right into some car garage! Multiple cars parked to form a circle. The very red car I'd seen downstairs a part of them. Sitting right at the center. On a some big circle. Surely automated or something.

"Oh my God," my knees buckled. Weak as I took in all of these. Understood it. Processed...

This was the master section.

The master section of the building.

I was living in and had an apartment on the masters section of the building!

"This isn't entirely normal, Lina. Not employee resident normal." Cleo's voice echoed in my ears. Like a mockery. Complete and absolute mockery, cause hell! She was right. She was so right!

"This is fucked up," I breathed, holding unto the wall. "This is so...fucked up."

It took a moment, but I pulled myself together. Leaning off the wall and heading back out the way I came.

He stood waiting for me by the elevator. Still opened. His back relaxing on the wall there, legs crossed nonchalantly. Like he knew I'd found what I'd been looking for.

"Took a nice smooth tour, huh?"

"Just
shut it," I walked past him. Heading out. His face smirking for sure. But I didn't turn to look.

"Goodbye neighbour,"

Ughhh.

I just entered my elevator, wishing it closed already. When it did, I went in and first thing that came up was my phone.

A text.

Cleo.

"What he say?"

Oh, the mockery.
