Chapter 162 Explaining To Cerberus

Chapter 162 Explaining To Cerberus
Tali

I snuggled Jareth, who was actively attempting to eat me, and I was chuckling, and so were my mates. Then I looked back up to Gihanna, and I didn’t actually need her to answer me, I could see it in her face. When Sihilich said she frantically reached out to him immediately after I had found those documents, I was pretty sure what she would say.

She nodded, “Yes, Tali, it’s them.” I nodded.

I looked to my mates, who were all looking really rather concerned, and I understood that, but right at this second, I needed to process some before I could really hash this out with them, and I also needed to spend some time with our son.

“Okay, right this second, I am going to take Jareth up to our room and feed him, as although Gihanna gave me a pump and I’ve been using it, I very much need to relieve some of the pressure. Plus, I need the chance to connect with him and just be for a few minutes. Then once that is finished, we will all talk about what’s going on.” They all reluctantly nodded and I was extremely grateful.

I felt so much more peace settle over me as I watched his little face as he nursed. It very much seemed he had missed me as much as I had missed him, which warmed my heart. He kept patting me over and over, and I kissed his fingers, earning me baby smiles that melted me.

My mates had all followed me up here but had just sat with us, which I was very grateful for. I was being extremely diligent to focus on nothing but our son, the rest would come soon enough. I also didn’t want to convey my distress to him.

“Can one of you guys go and get his things from Gihanna and Sihilich’s room please?” I looked up and saw Meliyan and Zahaine nod and go out of the room. Soon enough they were back with all of his baby things which they took back to the attached room we had used for him before.

Once I was done feeding him I went in and got a diaper and wipes, and took care of changing him. Then we went back into the room and sat on the couch in the middle of my mates. I then relinquished him to his fathers who needed baby snuggles as much as I did. They passed him around handing out hugs and kisses. We ended up placing him on a blanket with some toys, as I’d read that tummy time was important, so we watched him as he was fascinated by all of these new things.

I knew it was time to speak to my mates and let them know what had freaked me out, “Sorry I kept you guys in the dark, but I just really needed to process it a bit myself before we talked about it, and I wanted to not be so frazzled and all crazy while I was trying to snuggle Jareth. So, now I will let you guys in on what’s happening.”

They all nodded so I took a deep breath, “When I picked up those papers I saw they were talking about Paul Sawyer and Anthony Escarra. Now, just on their own it would be quite possible they were referring to people who had nothing to do with me. However, with them both being mentioned together, and then what Gabriel had said before he died, I had a feeling it was about the two I had or do know or what the fuck ever. So, naturally reading that rathter freaked me the fuck out.”

Suddenly Meliyan was in front of me cupping my face, “Breath Tali, just take a deep breath and breathe. You are going to hyperventilate if you don’t slow it down.”

I hadn’t really realized until that moment how hard it had gotten to breathe ,and how much the panic had hit me, but looking into his beautiful eyes, I was able to listen to his voice and follow along, slowing my breathing down. Then I nodded at him.

Then Cerberus pulled me into his lap, “I am missing a great many things I believe as I see the looks on your other mate’s faces, so perhaps I need to know who these men are who are dead men walking?”

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, “Right, you don’t know about these bastards. I’m not sure I can just spill it all right now. How about the guys fill some of it in while I just maintain, and then we’ll pick up from there?” I looked and Simion nodded so I closed my eyes and leaned against Cerber’s chest and just listened to his heartbeat.

“When her father, Michael, who you have heard about, and you were there with Gabriel, so you know a bit about that. He had told us he found her when she turned 18, and when he traced to her he found her in hell. He needed help to rescue her, and the council had said she was too abused to be useful and they would not help, so he came to us, and we did help. He’d taken me to her and I saw he was very correct as she was in a cage and obviously very abused. So, we rescued her. We found her bound, bleeding, and she had been hurt tremendously by the time we got her out, and we killed all of the men present. We notified the human authorities and they got the other trafficking victims out while we traced Tali out to our home.”

He paused, also having issues with this whole thing, “We spoke to her and explained who we were, who she was, who Michael was, and they had a chance to meet finally. We discovered that her being in that cage was not the first torment she had endured. Her whole life had been like that, first at the hands of her stepfather, Paul Sawyer, and then at the leader of the trafficking ring and drug dealer, Anthony Escarra. Gabriel had said he set up for her to be in that hell and he expected her to die, and was angry when she didn’t. So, we had already thought there was far more to all of that bullshit than previously known.”

I jumped in, “Oh, there is, according to the papers I saw and read, there is far more to it than we imagined.”
