Chapter 16:Anthony, watch out
Monica's POV*
"She looks beautiful but she's so rude, gosh" I muttered with a frown face as I took a few paces from the door and halted on a spot then I took out my phone to call Mr Price's stepmother.
"Monica" her bossy voice came through as she took the call.
I carefully looked both ways to ensure that no one was watching me. Then I responded with a low voice. "Yes ma'am, she's young and she's pretty. But it didn't look like she was hooking up with Mr Price"
"How sure are you? You idiot".
"Of course, he wouldn't have kept her if she tried. I'll keep a close eye on her"
"Do your job. Get her out of our way. We have to make sure Anthony marries Susan after the divorce. This is the only way to take full control of the price group". She added in a mischievous tone.
"Yes ma'am, I'll be sure to... ", I was about to complete my sentence but Mr. Price's voice interrupted from the other side of the passage. "Really? Go ahead".
I froze on that spot. I tried to end the call and the phone almost fell off my hand because of how startled I was. "Mr. Mr. Price, I don't know that...."
"You don't need to know cause you checked round first", he paced forward and towered in front of me, his face turning red. "So you're still working for her?" He asked disgust etched on his face.
"N. No Mr price, she's just worried about you", I retorted, with a half smile, my head bent downwards.
He folded his arms, "if she really cared, she would call me direct. Now, what's your business with my assistant?"
Piqued by his question, my throat bobbed, I darted my eyes uncontrollably, thinking of what to say. "She.., your stepmom always had hoped that you would be with Miss Susan," I said, rubbing my palms together.
Mr. Price drew his brows together, "Then she should help me divorce my wife. Plus, Miss Susan and I have no future together". He warned, clicking his hands to my face.
"Your stepmom knows that you decided to divorce after you prompted Aileen to be your P. A... "
"Tell her immediately that she needs to stop spying on me". He warned, impatience evident in his voice.
"I've shown you enough leniency by letting you stay with Pennington and Price. Okay?, DO NOT MAKE A FOOL OUT OF ME". He warned, his words made me tremble.
"Mr. Price, I can't.... "
"And another thing, if my stepmother wants to make a move towards Aileen, you tell her that she won't live there for the rest of her life. You got it?". He warned, pointing his finger directly to my face. When he mentioned Aileen's name, I saw a flicker of concern in his eyes but it disappeared almost immediately.
I nodded my head indicating that I understood what he just said and he left.
"Hmmm, Alien," I said, narrowing my eyes as I nodded my head slowly. "You'll hear from Mrs. Mildred real soon". I said as I went back to my duty post.

*Aileen's POV*
The next morning, the Alpha Ceo's meeting would be kick-starting and I was running late already. I hastily prepared myself, tucked my long-sleeved white shirt in my black pencil trousers and I packed my shoulder-length hair backwards.
"Oh, my God, Mr Price is going to be mad at me for being late for such an important meeting," I thought as I rushed downstairs. In my rush, I bumped into Anthony at the reception "Hey Anthony, good morning". I greeted, my cheeks slightly flushed.
"Yeah," he retorted, his hands in his pocket.
"Can I talk to you about something?", I said as I crinkled my eyes.
Interested in what I had to say, he raised his eyebrows, "Yeah, what's up?"
"Umm... Okay, I don't know why people keep getting the wrong impression of us. But I just wanted to let you know that I really respect you and I have no feelings for you". I said, darting my eyes slowly.
"No feelings at all, not even when I ask you to work overtime?", he teased, one of his brows raised as he displayed a faint smile.
I slumped my shoulders and rolled my eyes upwards, "Uh, okay. You know that's not what I meant" I chuckled, covering my mouth. "It's just that people keep talking about you and me. And I really don't want that attention you know".
"I'm sorry about that. But I think a lot of it has to do with your name". He said, his eyes half closed.
I slammed my forehead slightly. "Okay, why do you keep mentioning my name? Like what's wrong with it?". I asked smiling.
He wanted to say something but his phone distracted our conversation with an incoming call. He took his phone from his pocket and received the call.
"Dean, you're here?" His eyes widened.
"Yes sir, am already at the venue. I thought I should be present that's why I arrived too". Dean's voice came through.
"Okay, we're coming". Anthony retorted before ending the call then he turned to me. "Shall we?", he asked.
"Yeah", I replied accompanied by a nod.

In two hours, we were all done with the meeting and decided to go back to the suite. On our way, we took a bushy path that lead to the main road where we could board a cab. Whilst passing through the bushy path, Anthony led the way leaving me and Dean behind, since he had been there multiple times.
"Now that was such a cool experience and it was lit. To meet all those new people, I learned so much" I said, killing the goddamn silence in our midst with a chuckle.
Dean tilted his head to face me "Oh, you got something here". He said, brushing my cheeks with his palm.
I drew back slightly, moving away from his touch, "No Dean, did Corona not teach you anything?, Don't put your dirty hands on my face" I said teasingly as I furrowed my brows.
"Okay, okay" he raised his both hands. Mr price turned to look at us. And there was this stare he shot me. It was as though he was warning me to stop acting that way with other guys.
I smiled at him faintly then he returned and continued leading the way. He was about to pass under a tree when I noticed a venomous snake descending from the tree.
"Mr. Price, watch out", I yelled as I pushed him out of the way and filled up the space.
