Chapter 15:A flight to Texas

Anthony's POV*

Three days on, I received a reply from my wife first thing on Tuesday morning after I sent her a message concerning divorce, it read, "Busy today, maybe Saturday at 8. Message me".

The message brightened my face, my cheeks slightly flushed "finally". I sighed sharply as I slumped my shoulders, my eyes still fixed on my phone. "I'll finally be free from this charade of marriage with a stranger. I don't care what grandma will say or do. I deserve my happiness", I went deep in my thoughts but an incoming call from Donovan snapped me out of it.

"Speak up" I commanded as I received the call.

"Mr. Price, I've contacted Miss Smith. Will you be available to meet her on Monday at 8?", his incompetent voice came through as he asked.

His question got me fuming, my face turned red. I took in a deep breath and let it out sharply, "Dono, it's your job to talk to her not mine. I don't want to ever share space with a cheater". My strict voice cut in before I ended the call.

"Sir, the Ceo's meeting with the Alpha is 'kick-starting tomorrow" Dean who has been sitting with me in the office notified me with a wide smile.

"When are we going to the airport Mr price?" He asked.

"Oh, no no, am not going with you. This time around, am going with Aileen".

"Sir, but Aileen is on a trip now", he insisted, his eyebrows drawn together.

"I don't care. By now she should be done with whatever shit she went there to do". I roared. Dean trembled at my wild reply.

"She works for me and whenever I need her service, I get it" I added with my head bent slightly and my gaze on Dean.

"B. B. But, s..."

"Dean", I cut him off with a withering glare. Frightened by what would come next, he stood up and left my presence then I took my phone and sent an email to Aileen.

*Aileen's POV*

We were preparing to leave Sunnite cause we were done with our presentation at the production company but I won't be going back with Stella and Liam because I received an email from Mr. Price. It read, "Go straight to the airport. We're going to Texas"

"Oh, gosh" I muttered, my lips pouted as I drew my brows together.

"Aileen, what's wrong?" Stella asked but before I could utter a word, Liam interrupted. "It's her boss I know", he frowned at me.

"Yeah, he wants me to meet up with him in Texas" I confirmed with an eye roll.

"He really knows how to spoil our adventures. I wish I could give him a hard slap on his face", Stella grumbled angrily as she tilted her head to the side and folded her arms.

"It's okay Stella, don't be mad okay!, I need to report to work besides, we're done with what we came here for already. It's high time I get back to work". I said as I rubbed her shoulders.

"Bye, guys," I said, then I grabbed my luggage and left for the airport.

***************

I landed in Texas in the space of 45 minutes, and from the airport pick-up point, I was directed to one of Anthony’s 5-star presidential suite hotels. He funded my flight and accommodation but at that time, Anthony had not gotten to Texas so I was redirected to my room.

The room was comfortable and filled with luxurious limited-edition accessories. "Anthony really has a good taste for things", I whispered, still in awe as I paced slowly into the spacious room. The king-sized bed looked so cosy and soft.

Feeling tired of the day's activities, I carelessly threw myself on the bed. "thank the seven heavens". I said with a weak smile, my face buried in the soft bed. "Oh, I'm not used to the heat in Sunnite. Thankfully, I pulled it through today" I added with a chuckle but then, my phone buzzed with a call.

"Devil, is that you? why must it be when am about to rest?" I murmured as I lifted my head and reached for my phone on the bed.

"Hello".

"Miss Smith, where are you?"

"Um..., I'm still at work. Can we reschedule?" I retorted, rolling my eyes upwards.

"When will you be free?".

"I don't know. Can I let you know?"

"Miss Smith, are you really that busy or do you not want a divorce?". He asked teasingly and getting pissed off by his dumb question, I ended the call and threw my phone on the other side of the wide mattress.

I wanted to rest my head again but a loud sudden knock on the door made me furious. I jerked up from the bed to go get the door. "Gosh! Can't people just leave me alone?" I murmured, gritting my teeth hard as I reached for the doorknob and swung the door open. Behold, a young beautiful lady in her late twenties appeared in front of my door, she gave me a warm welcoming smile, "Hi Aileen" She waved at me but I said nothing to her I just kept a straight face.

"I'm Monica, I work with the Price family. Can we talk?" She placed her hands on her chest as she introduced herself.

"Yeah," I folded my arms interested in what she had to say.

She took in a deep breath and exhaled sharply. "Mr. Price is married and you know that".

"I know" I retorted with a slight head nod.

"It's... Its... Probably not my business to say it's just that people are talking about the way you act around Mr. Price, and it's raising some concerns" she said, wrinkling a small part of her t-shirt.

I frowned at her words, "What do you mean about the way I act around Mr. Price?".

"Um, um.. You know" she darted her eyes quickly.

"I really don't. Can you spell it out for me?, so that I can ask Mr. Price myself?" I said with a calm tone but at the mention of Mr. Price, she got confused. Her eyes widened.

"Um... Um, there's no need", she said her brows drawn together.

"Okay then, I think you should leave now".

"But... "

"Leave" I cut in, interrupting her from whatever she had to say and I shut the door against her.

"Yes, is this how his employees here go about poking into people's private life?" I muttered as I lay on the bed.
