Chapter 12

Amelia’s pov

I moaned as Asher thrust into me, pounding my insides and filling me up. I felt a jolt in my spine, like electricity running through me as he hit my g spot. It felt so good.

He grabbed my neck, a bit firmly but also while being gentle. He bent down, kissing me deep as he continued thrusting. I moaned into his mouth as our tongues battled for dominance.

We had been going at it for hours now, enjoying being in each other’s arms, not wanting to let go and I was loving every second of it. I never thought I could enjoy sex this much.

With alpha Damien, sex felt like rape, I was unwilling to and the only emotion I had for him was fear. But with Asher, sex felt like heaven.

My eyes rolled backwards as he hit my spot again, I felt like I was having a pleasure overload. He lifted me up, standing as he thrust upwards into me. We stared into each other’s eyes as we made love. The pace increased as he pounded faster and a few minutes later, we climaxed, our bodies twitching as we slumped on the bed.

I cuddled up to him as we lay in bed, a smile of satisfaction on my face. It has been a few weeks since I’ve moved into Asher’s castle. He had insisted I call him Asher instead of Alpha Asher.

These few weeks at times still felt like a dream to me. We cuddled every day, strolled in the garden and did a variety of other fun stuff. We really were in love.

It was really pleasant. I still remember vividly the looks of respect on the castle's denizens' faces whenever I walked past, I never thought I could be respected, that I could be treated like royalty. It made me happy and it also made me feel human in a way.

But at the same time, it terrified me. I feared what might really be going on in their heads, what they were thinking, what they were planning. I was fearful about a lot of things, I feared that alpha Asher might lose his interest in me, I feared that alpha Damien might come back for me and I feared that I might go back to my old life.

For days, I had thought it was normal to feel this way, after all, I’ve not exactly had a pleasant experience with life when it came to love. I thought that after a few days, it would stop, but it didn’t.

And that was when it hit me, I realized that I was broken, so broken that I might possibly never heal from it. And when I realized why that was, I was filled with anger, pain and disgust. Disgust for my foster family, it was their fault after all.

Even till that moment, I still don’t know what I had done in this life or the previous to have deserved the kind of treatment they put me through. They had made me miserable, made me feel cursed and they made me think I was worthless. They damaged my self-esteem beyond repair.

I used to have hope, hope in Abigail. She used to be nice to me, bringing me snacks whenever her parents locked me up in the basement and hugging me whenever I cried. But it was short-lived, she was their daughter after all. She changed, joining her parents and leaving me alone all by myself, just like my parents.

At times I resent them, I wondered why they hadn’t taken me along with them, why they had left me alone in this cruel world, and other times I resent myself for not dying and surviving instead.

I looked at the ceiling and I sighed, melancholy filling up my heart. I closed my eyes, snuggling up to Asher in hopes of driving the negative thoughts away. He always made me warm both physically and emotionally, this time should be the same But it doesn’t work.

“Is everything alright?” Asher suddenly asked.

I should have known he would notice. He had a sharp intuition towards my mood change, knowing just when to try to soothe me. I looked up at him, smiling as I replied,

“I’m fine.”

He raised a brow, he probably didn't believe me, with how sharp he was, I was surprised he wasn't already opening my head to pry the answers out.

I knew he was about to question me again to find out for sure but luckily for me, he was interrupted by a knock on the door. He gave the person permission to enter and a maid walked in, her head bowed in respect. I think she was the headmaid.

She looked at us, smiling a bit before her expression turned serious.

“Sir, you have a guest, a very important one.”

I looked at Asher, noticing the change in his expression at the seriousness of the maids' voice.

“Who is it?” Asher asked, getting up to put on his clothes.

“It's Uriel sir.”

Asher's body went stiff for a moment, then stood up, dressing up to meet his guest. He pulled on a pair of pants and a loose shirt. He turns to face me, smiling a bit before kissing me on the forehead.

“I'll be back in a bit.”

I watched him leave, the maid bowing to me once more before she followed behind him. This Uriel person must be very important for Asher to act this way. He wasted no time leaving to meet him.

I sighed once more. Well, at least he wouldn't be able to pry my mind open this way. I felt bad for hiding my feelings from Asher, it almost felt like I was betraying his trust but I just couldn't tell him.

I felt like enough of a freak already without all of these inner insecurities piling up. I wanted to be his perfect queen, I wanted this to be my chance to start over and to do that, I needed to stop living in the past but that was easier said than done.

I stood up from the bed, walking towards the bathroom to wash myself. I passed by the windows, walking backwards to look out as I noticed something from the corner of my eyes.

I looked down and at the front of the castle's entrance, a man stood. He had white hair but a face that looked not even forty, making it hard to judge his age. Asher approached him, greeting him respectfully.

I was surprised at this, although Asher was not a tyrant like alpha Damien, he was dominating in his own gentle way. I had seen him meet with a lot of guests this past week but none he had to treat so respectfully. This Uriel man was even more important than I thought.

I stared at the man and as if sensing my gaze, he turned to look at me. My eyes met his, brown colliding with blue, my eyes feeling a bit lackluster compared to his. It felt like I was suddenly in front of an ocean, vast and deep with a bit of an ancient smell.

But the ocean wasn't kind, and this one was no different either. I felt myself freeze over, the coldness seeping out of the ocean was terrifying. A large wave covered me, pushing me in. My inner wolf whimpered in fear as I sank in, my heart thudding in my chest as I struggled to swim back ashore.

Then suddenly, I felt something pulling me out, a soft feeling warming up my freezing body. I came to, realizing there was no ocean, I was not drowning and although my body was trembling, I wasn't freezing.

I looked out the window once more, fear running through me as a shiver went up my spine. It had all been an illusion. I couldn't help but wonder how powerful the man was to be able to emit such an aura that made me hallucinate out of fear. But I also couldn't help but be in awe of him and of Alpha Asher. That warmness that brought me out was no doubt him. I never knew he was so powerful.

I felt myself calm down, but there was still dread deep within my heart. I was confused, why was I still feeling so much fear? Why was the presence of this man bothering me so much?

I thought that it was due to shock from that previous hallucination, but I knew it wasn't, it was something more and I dreaded the thought of finding out.

I had a bad feeling.
