Chapter 30

Krystal POV

We arrive at the forest near on the Academy and Lux lead the way towards the stable. When we are near on where the stable is three of Vince underlings is guarding the forest.

Jerome climb the tree to attack above and Lux, Nathan and I drew our swords and wall quietly towards the enemies. Nathan signal to us a go and we attack.

I aim on his stomach but he dodge it and swing his sword on me. I take a step backwards and when his legs is open for me kick I take the chance and kick him and hold his neck and then push him into the tree that made a hard impact. I point my sword on his neck and swing it, blood flowing from the cut I made.

I look at Nathan and Lux that is still fighting the other two enemies. Nathan swings his sword and made a cut on his opponent leg and Jerome from above stab the man that Nathan is fighting with and he finish him.

Lux already killed the one he is fighting with and all of us run and go inside the stable.

“What if we use them?” Nathan ask walking towards the white horse with a pair of black wings.

“It’s not time to have fun brat,”

“Stop with your salty personality you dog face,”

“What did you just say?” Lux ask, annoyed on what Nathan said.

“Stop it guys” I stop because we might get caught and the plan might fail

“But it’s true that he’s a dog face,”

Jerome opens the door on the left

“No one is here. Let’s go before they see the dead bodies inside the forest,”

We go inside the door and Nathan carefully closes the door.

“I can’t see anything,” I said

It's so dark inside here. There is no lamp or a flashlight.

“Lux use your charm to light the tunnel,” Nathan said

“Why don’t you do it since you’re the one who thought about it?”

“Am I even a from the fire town? Is my charm a fire type? If I have a charm like yours I would never ask you about it” Nathan sarcastically said that annoys Lux

“Then you should tell your parents to give birth on you on the fire town on the first place” Lux said back

“You piece of dog face!”

“Stop biting you brat! Are you a mad dog?!”

I made a fire on my palm and we can see the tunnel now. When I look at my back, I saw Nathan biting Lux arm.

“Are you a kid?” I ask.

Jerome chuckled “Let’s go guys before the sun rise,”

“Krystal is more useful than you,” Nathan said while walking

“Shut up brat or I will burn you,”

“I can drown you dog face,”

“Oh yeah?”

“What? You want a fight?”

“Guys stop it you’re too loud” I scolded them and they stop

We reach the end of the tunnel and we arrive inside the office of the staff

“Hide” Jerome said and we quickly crouch down the tables

Footsteps become loud and I can see a shadow. There are people on the door, Vince underlings.

“I heard a footstep in here,”

Are we too loud?

“You’re probably imagining it,”

The shadow is gone and when I peep there is no one at door anymore.

“Lets go, ”

All of us quietly walk outside and when we are already sure that there is no one in the area, we ran. We go first in the training room because I’m sure that other students is trap in there.

Nathan tried to pull the door knob but chains show up that keep the door lock

“It’s lock” Nathan said

“Let me open this damn door,” Jerome said and rocks filled his right arm “Step aside, you might get hurt from the impact,”

All of us step aside

“AGHHH!”

The chains break and a strong wind came because of the impact. Jerome opens the door and all of us run inside. I stop from running when I got inside the training room. I stood there frozen.

I feel like my heart skip a beat. I want to shout, but it was like there is something stuck in my throat. No, this can’t be.

Blood everywhere. The room is filled with blood of the students that are laying on the ground. Some had a missing head, and some had their eyes closed.

Am I too late?

I feel like my legs had no strength anymore to stand up.

“Am I too late?” I whispered

I feel like I don’t have a strength anymore. What am I going to do now? I promise that I will save them and kill Vince, but I’m late. Why is this happening?

Right Vince target is me in the first place. It’s all my fault that they die. If I go with them in the first place, no one will die and they will still leave in a peaceful life. Miss Valerie wouldn’t die nobody will die in the first place if I go with them. No, If I hadn’t been born no one is going to die.

“Krystal,”

“Its all my fault right?” I face Lux “They would not have died if not for me,”

“It’s not your fault you’re not the one who kill them it’s Vince,” he said

"If I give Vince what he wants, no one will die,"

"How  many times do we have to comfort you and tell you that its not your fault?"

“Right. I'm sorry let’s go,” I said and stand up.

We go inside the forest and we see Vince sitting on a chair with a body around him. Miss Valerie and Sir Rex are there too.

“Our little kittens is back,”

He walks toward me and I just remain a blank expression on my face.

“Do you like my surprises?” he ask

“Hahaha” I laugh like I was losing my sanity and his shock face is so priceless.

I stopped from laughing after a second and look at him with a wide smile on my face. I lean toward his ear

“Will you like my surprise too?” I ask and stab him in his heart.

He stumbled back with a scared face and he coughed blood.

“Do you think you can kill me with just stabbing my heart like that?!”

I step on his thigh and he winced in pain. I lean on his ear.

“That’s why I put a poison into it,” I said

He gasp and look at me like I was a murderer

“Don’t worry dear, it will not kill you easily like what you thought. 5 hours to live is long enough for you, right?”

I walk away from him and about to came back on the boys but a black tentacle curl up on my feet.

A cold voice from my back makes me shiver.

“Do you think you can kill me like that?”

I look back to see Vince near me and the Vince that I stab turned into a stone. It’s just a clone.

A powerful blow struck me and I lost consciousness.

LUX POV

“Krystal!”

I run towards them and throw some fire ball at Vince but he blocks it with a shield that is made of rocks.

“Give back Krystal!”

I throw my sword aiming for him but before it hit him he vanished in a thin air. The sword hit the tree instead of him.

“Laura,”

I look at Jerome when he said Laura’s name, and I followed where he’s looking and found Laura hiding on the back of a tree. She gasps when she notices that I saw her and run away.

“Wait!” I shout, but she just ignores me

I don’t have a choice, so I chase after her.

“Leave me alone!” she said, but I just keep on chasing her.

I grab her shirt and chase my breath. I grip on her shoulder and turned her around to face me.

“Where did Vince take Krystal?” I ask.

“I don’t know!” she answered

She struggles from my grip, but I just tightly grip her shoulder.

“I know you know! Because your mother is with Vince!” I shake her “Just wake up already Laura! Krystal trusted you!”

“Shut up!”

“She trusted you and believe that you’re her friend but you just betray her, not only her but all of us! Right Valerie knows your identity but she just keep her mouth shut because he want to protect you! Everyone wants to protect you! So please… tell me where Krystal is,” I pleaded.

“Above. She’s on the tower where ritual take place,”

I stop gripping her shoulder.

“On the old temple of Atla?” I ask.

“Yes”

“Thank you”

I walk towards the exit

“What did she say? Where is Krystal?” Nathan the brat ask

“On the tower” I answer

“On the sacred temple of Atla?! Shit I haven’t been inside that temple”

“Laura…” I look at Laura and she gasp “Go with us to save Krystal”

She walks with us and all of us go to the tower.
