Chapter 50
River's shoulders shook as he made his way out of the room with Matthews meeting him half way when he nearly tripped over his own two feet. Probably blinded by his tears. If he thought this warranted tears, then I fear what he will do when the real truth... The hard truth is finally out in the open.
"That was exhausting but it gets worse. I would like to call Felecia River forward." The councilman bellowed with undisguised rage and disgust written all over his face.
Felecia walked forward with shaky steps, watching from one face to the other as if it would give her a clue of what her summoning was about.
"I would be very pleased if you tell us your birthname before mating to George Gregory River"
"My... Name... Is... Felecia Keningston" she whispered
"So... It is a mere coincidence that the records I hold in my hand with your picture bears a different name. It could possibly be another person right? The councilman questioned with sarcasm laced in his tone.
"What... What name?"
"Felecé Brianna Kingston... You didn't change it that much did you? It was a pretty smart idea. No one would think to retain parts of their birthname and you probably sent people on a wild goosechase, trying to guess your alias and find you" We all watched as the shy and timid Felecia disappear as she lost the look and straightened her slouched figure. By the sinister smile that spread in her face, you could tell that shit was about to go down...
"Oooh... There she is..." Another councilman cackled
"What do you want from me?" She spat out
"Well, we want to know what the fuck you are doing in this pack, being mated of all things"
"Well... I guess I saw favour with the moon goddess..."
The well awaited lightening bolt struck a table beside her and the bitch didn't even flinch.
"Bullshit. Monsters like you don't get to have mated and no matter how forgiving the moon goddess is, she can and will never forgive the likes of you"
"Well your loss..."
"No honey... It's yours..." The councilman said sinisterly and with long strides, he made his way into Felecia's personal space and raked his claws swiftly on both sides of her face.
Felecia went down with a scream as her hands went up to protect her face but the councilman didn't stop. He moved further down, getting his claws into her arms and torso. It was when he was finally done did the audience notice that the marks where left in a particular pattern. A pattern I recognized so well and Felecia was screwed.
Chuckling softly, he stepped back with a self-satisfied smile in his face. With a wink, he turned to walk back to his previous spot as he whispered words under his breath. The farther apart he was from Felecia, the louder his words and the louder she screamed until she abruptly stopped and the councilman stopped his chants too.
"Well... That was fun... Now where were we?... Ahh I remember... What the fuck are you doing in this pack and how did you get mated to Gregory?"
"I... Bought my way through it. I stumbled upon this pack some years back and I decided to stay when Gregory took me in and nursed me back to health..." She recited in a trance
'what??... Why did I tell you that? What did you do to me?' she cried out when she snapped out of her stupor.
"I hit you with an old truth spell Felecia since the bolts of lightening didn't scare you as much as I had wanted. I figured someone like you would need proper incentive and people like you do not like the truth. Now, you cannot lie without dying and as you can see, your wounds aren't exactly healing... You didn't do all the things you did just to die from a little lie right?"
The councilman may have hit a nerve because Felecia's eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. And from the alarm that spread across her face, she did not want us to know. Too bad we will get to know anyway.
"Now back to questioning, what do you mean you bought your way through? Please be specific. And did you really have to become his mate and the Luna of this pack just because he nursed you back to health? That's the thing about you Felecé... It has always been greed for you... The greed for power. The greed for things that DO NOT BELONG TO YOU..."
"I... I.. "
"We don't have all day Felecia..."
"I s...sacrificed them for it. I sacrificed the damned for it" Felecia whispered through pants of pain
"Now we are getting to the good part. Since this new naive generation have no idea who the damned are, I'll do the honours of telling them.
The damned were a pack of people that made up a rather small town in the far East some 700 years ago. They were simple people who farmed and hunted for a living. They were so disconnected from the world that they gave naive a whole new meaning. They trusted too quickly and took people for face value. You could tell them you have never committed a crime before with blood on your hands and they would believe you.
And that is how they became a town of refuge for so many murderers, thieves and monsters of every kind. The outside world changed the town's name from Serenity to the Damned Naive or the Damned for short. They were a total of 10,632 individuals women and children not included. So you said you sacrificed all these people Felecia?? I am not sure monster is a sufficient name for the kind of person you are"
The first person she looked at was Gregory and you could practically hear his heart breaking from where he sat. The look of anger and disgust on his face was a sight to behold whiles her son just stared blankly at her.
"No!! It... It was a mistake!!!" No sooner had she finish that statement, did a scream tear from her throat. The silent audience watched on as more marks appeared on her skin. Bigger and deeper than the former and from the way she was screaming, they were as painful as they looked.
"I told you not to lie Felecia... If you thought you would have died a swift death then you are completely out of your mind. This is just a mere formality to get you to confess your sins. Because we know all the atrocities you have caused and the devastations you left behind.
It will take you a while to recover from those marks so I will tell them what you did after murdering the damned. How it was not enough for you. You became immortal and under normal circumstances,it should have been more than enough for any mortal but definitely not you Felecia, you had to go on a killing spree. This monster hunted down pregnant women and by the time she felt satieted, she had a total number of 600 dead pregnant women and they were her sacrifice for power. She is not a wolf... She is a skinwalker, a shapeshifter. One that could turn into any supernatural creature she desired and yet, it was still not enough for dear Felecia.
She challenged an old mage in the realms of the Fae's and she was given a rude awakening that light and darkness do not mix and that light will always prevail even in it's dying moments.
She was beaten to an inch of her life to which she barely survived and should have died. A blessing and relief it would have been to nature but goody-two shoes Gregory had to set his sights on Felecia to be enamoured by her beauty.
The same beauty that was bought with life and blood of about 11,000 souls. Whiles he saw the need to save a dying beautiful wench, Felecia saw an opportunity to climb a social ladder. An opportunity to start a new life to get whatever else she wanted without getting her hands dirty. But she forgot that the truth never stays buried. It eventually resurfaces. Someday, somehow.
Luck which has never been on her side proved to be a very worthy opponent once more when Gregory's mate showed up. He won't remember his encounter with her because sweet Felecia took the liberty of wiping her from existence. No mortal even remembers her name much less what she looks like and that was the start of Felecia's soon.
She did not know that Gregory's true mate was one of the pure witches to ever watch this realm and killing her was like ridding nature of a part of it's soul. So it also took from Felecia, her powers and immortality seeing as they weren't rightfully hers in the first place.
It left you with Gregory's bond because it knew your end was coming. For a woman, you are pretty much heartless to a fault. Your soul darker than the night itself. You can't actually be thinking that there is room for forgiveness given everything you've done.
You may delude yourself that you have changed but we all saw the greed in your eyes when Chaos was reawakened. The desire and question could be seen in your eyes. But trust that you won't even get the chance because your sentence for your crimes us death and not the quick one either.
You are going to be locked up for a long time and watch as your life withers away piece by piece. Granting you a quick death would be merciful and you do not deserve mercy Felecé Brianna Kingston.
Your name and existence will be wiped away from the face of the Earth and all you will ever be, is a distant memory. One that will fade away with time".
"No!!!" She screamed
"Greg please!!! I've changed. Don't let them do this to me. Please! My son... Please!!" She cried but no one moved to help neither did they say anything in her defense.
River watched his mother with tears in her eyes whiles Gregory wept freely. His mate was an imposter but he had learned to love her and yet she needed to pay for her crimes. With a sad smile in her direction, he turned and left the yard.
"Goodbye Felecé" He whispered before disappearing out the gate.
