CHAPTER 30

I was sitting on the pool deck on a sun lounger. I frowned as I turned to look at the person next to me, who had been secretly giggling.

"Happy now?" I said and stared at him. I leaned back in my chair and watched the guests bathing in the pool.

Like what he wanted. I fucking wore a shirt and shorts. Fucking shit.

"More than happy my wife," I heard him mumble which made my eyes roll again.

I did not turn to him again; instead I just watched some guests bathing in the pool.

I couldn’t help but I stare at those women who are sexily hot in their two pieces.

I could see him standing up and approaching me from the corner of my eye. I just let it go.

The seat was big, so he was able to squeeze into my seat. He automatically wrapped his hands around my waist, and leaned his head on my shoulder.

We both quietly watched the guests happily swimming.

"Are you still mad baby?" he said softly, but seriously.

"Mad about?" I couldn't help but ask, because his question was different.

"About what happened years ago," he whispered softly.

I laughed sarcastically. "Who wouldn't be?" I asked him again.

Gradually my heart sank at the recollection of those times.

"I don't know why I let you get close to me like this, because seriously, I loathe you." I added and sighed.

He hugged me tightly and pressed his head to the side of my neck.

"Because you are indeed a good person. You tend to understand even a shitty situation." He answered. "Baby... please hear me out. Please trust me and believe me, I love you, both then and now. What happened years ago was all planned to ruin us," he said softly, as if he wanted to make me trust all his words.

I was slowly shaken and looked up.

"If all that was planned. Why does my son have to suffer Andrei?" I said bitterly while looking at the peaceful cloud.

"I also lost Cassandra. I was also hurt, mourned, and repented. That was also my child," he said as I felt my neck being wet.

Gradually tears fell in my eyes. We remained silent, while crying.

We have felt the pain and sorrow of losing our baby in the past. And here, we were given the opportunity to sympathize with each other's pain.

Is this what you want son? Your daddy and I to remember you together?

"I love you, Cassandra...I love you and our children. I never thought of betraying you," he whispered.

You did not think of it, you just did.

He loosened his grip on me and looked at me. He wiped my face and smiled bitterly.

"I know you still love me. Please don't drive me out of your life," he pleaded.

He put my stray hair behind my ear.

"I'm going to marry someone else Andrei." I remind him.

"Maybe we are not really for each other. I am with you now, because I also need it for myself, to forgive you, to free me from the past of the two of us." I added and averted my eyes.

"We're married Cassandra, we're married," he said and held my hand.

I looked at him again and smiled sadly.

"I'm sorry Andrei, but I choose him. You lied to me. I want an annulment Andrei. Please do me a favor." I begged and averted my eyes again.

I could feel his grip on my hand. He took a deep breath and buried his head in my shoulder again.

"You cannot marry him, baby... you will not marry the person who ruined your life," he whispered softly. He remained bent over my shoulder and squeezed my hand tightly.

Confusion ate me up. I gently held him by the shoulder and looked at him.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He smiled bitterly at me and took the phone out of his pocket. He tapped something there until I heard it ring.

"Come here now," he said sparingly and dropped the call.

"Who's that?" I can't help but ask.

Instead of answering, he just hugged me and kissed my hair.

"I planned our trip before, cause I plan to say everything. But I really need to explain everything to you, because I can't bear to leave you for someone else," he whispered to my side.

"You know Andrei, I don't understand what you are saying anymore." I said annoyed.

He let go of me and moved our bodies a little further. He smiled at me for a moment and stroked my face.

"I know you can no longer believe me because what happened to us is so painful. So I will not present an explanation to you but evidence," he said.

"Evidence?" I asked.

He nodded and motioned for me to look in the direction he was pointing. I followed it quickly, and I was immediately stunned at the same time as I was cold.

"Yhanna," I mumbled as I watched her walk closer to us.

What is she doing here?

My chest ached immediately.

"Long time no see Cassandra," she said formally, while standing in front of me. There is no mixture of sarcasm in her voice and eyesight, but sometimes I see that with...guilt?

I gritted my teeth and faced Andrei. "What the fuck is this?" I hissed.

"What, betrayal part two and three?!" I added, I couldn't help but raise my voice while taking a deep breath.

Andrei's mouth parted and looked at me then shook his head.

"No, no, no baby. It's not what you think. Damn it," he said and locked me in his arms.

I immediately jumped out, but he did not let me get away.

"Stay still baby. Fuck! She's here to personally tell you that it was all set up," he explained under his grip.

I was stunned and repeated what he said over and over again.

I turned my gaze back to Yhanna, who was now bent over. I also looked at Andrei again, he smiled at me and loosened his grip on me.

"If you think we are conspiring, no baby. I told you, I was not in the Philippines in recent years. I just came home here. So please, believe me," he pleaded.

My eyes returned to Yhanna, who was now looking at me. Gradually tears welled up in her eyes, I was surprised when she suddenly knelt in front of me and kept crying.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry. I didn't have a choice that time. He was holding my brother," she said quickly while crying.

"W-what do you mean?" I stammered as I watched her.

She cried again, so it was not surprising that other guests were watching us.

"Stand there. Let's not talk here." I said and walked away first.

A few minutes later, the three of us were together in the suite. Yhanna continued to cry while occasionally apologizing to me.

My chest throbbed with astonishment and nervousness. I didn't know why, but I felt like there's a huge thing I will soon know.

"Now spill it. Stop crying, and start to fucking tell me what you are talking about! Coz seriously, I can't handle this! Being with you two in one place is a punishment for me,” I said and looked at them angrily.

Yhanna adjusted herself for a moment, and looked at me with a guilty look.

"Andrei is innocent, Cassandra. Me kissing him, what I said that day; it was all planned and fabricated. I'm sorry," she said.

I kept thinking about what she said. I didn't know what I should feel. I was confused, I was very confused. What happened that day came back to me: how I came to them with their lips close to each other, what Yhanna said about them.

Was that all a lie?

"Why? What did I do to you?" I said bitterly.

"I had no choice Cassandra," she replied tearfully.

I laughed softly and couldn't believe looking at her.

"Do you know what I lost because of your lies? DO YOU KNOW?!" I cried.

Andrei approached me and hugged me. I could not drive him away, because I felt I was feeling too weak.

"Because of the infidelity you created, my son disappeared! My son died! You know I was pregnant, but you still managed to play in front of me! What kind of person are you! How many times have you ruined us? My babies?!" I shrieked and finally fell to my feet. Andrei quickly supported me.

"My brother's life is also at stake at that moment, Cassandra!" she shouted back and cried again.

I was stunned for a moment, and watched her slowly fall to the floor.

"What can I do if the gun is aimed at my brother, who can end his life at once? I did not make the plan. I did not ask you to believe me, but that is the truth. My brother's life in exchange for destroying you," she explained crying.

Andrei repeatedly stroked my back and my hair, as if he were making me feel his sympathy.

"Who are you referring to? Tell me!" I shouted as my tears continued to flow.

He was about to be silenced when the door buzzer of the suite suddenly made a noise. It got our attention.

"Did you order food?" He asked me.

I frowned at him. "Why the hell would I? I didn't bring my money. Remember?"

He frowned and let go of me.

My head heated up at the idea that entered my mind, so I immediately walked away from him.

"Maybe it's your girl!" I said annoyed, and walked quickly to the door. I opened it up suddenly to see my son smiling at me.

"MOMMY!!" he shouted and quickly hugged me.
