Chapter 25 I've Seen Every Inch of You
Ethan crossed his legs and glanced at her sideways. "Is this your attitude when asking for help?"
Ava's preparations were all ruined by this sudden rain, and she had lost any mindset of pleading now. She was just cold and wanted to find a warm place.
Taking a quick look around, she headed straight for the bedroom, and as expected, there was a bathroom inside.
Without hesitation, Ava turned on the shower, took off her clothes, and stepped into the warm water. The soothing flow washed away some of the chills from her body.
At this moment, the bathroom door opened, and Ethan walked in with his arms crossed.
Ava was startled and instinctively covered herself with her hands.
"Is there any part of your body that I haven't seen?" Ethan sneered lightly.
Ava said, "Before is before, now is now."
Ethan said, "Now you're here to ask for help. Have you forgotten your duties? Perhaps if you please me, I might consider letting you enter the preliminary competition."
Ava gritted her teeth hatefully. In the past, she would never have cared about such a low-level competition. Unfortunately, the Smith family had fallen.
Ava sneezed suddenly. Seeing him not leaving, she simply turned off the shower and grabbed a towel to wrap around herself. Unknowingly, the towel was draped across her ample bosom, outlining her curves even more enticingly.
Ethan's Adam's apple rolled involuntarily as he stepped forward and picked her up horizontally.
Ava said, "Ethan, you... Achoo!"
Ethan tossed her onto the soft bed, straddled her legs, and when she tried to resist, he abruptly pulled the blanket over her and covered himself as well, with a towel now wrapped around her wet hair.
Ava was slightly surprised.
She thought, ‘Ethan, the person who can control the entire Tabott at will, is actually helping me dry my hair?’
She thought he was going to do something else.
Ethan asked, "What, disappointed?"
"Who... who's disappointed? I'm just a little surprised that you would help me with these things..." Ava's voice grew softer as she spoke, her mind becoming increasingly drowsy until she eventually fell asleep.
Ethan watched her cheeks grow redder and darker, his gaze darkening a few shades. He took out his phone and made a call. "Get the doctor here."
There was a private doctor in the manor, and in less than five minutes, he arrived.
"Mr. Davis, this young lady has caught a cold from the rain." How she caught it had been known to everyone in the manor just now.
Ethan took a deep breath and nodded to the doctor.
When Ava woke up and was about to move, she found a needle stuck in the back of her hand, and Ethan was sitting on a nearby chair.
Looking down, she found that she had changed into a new set of silk pajamas without knowing when.
"I'm not that much of a beast to take advantage of a feverish patient," Ethan closed his eyes and said lightly.
Ava gave him a disdainful look and thought, ‘When has he not acted like a beast?’
But now, on Ethan’s territory, she had to be cautious.
After a night passed, Ava finally recovered from her fever and finally had the mood to consider the preliminary competition, but she hesitated on how to broach the subject.
Ethan was already sitting at the dining table, and when he saw her come out, he pointed to the seat opposite him. "Sit down and eat with me."
Ava said, "Mr. Davis..."
"I don't like to be disturbed while eating." His voice was faint, but the cold sharpness in his black eyes made Ava dare not disobey, as if the gentle him from yesterday was just a dream.
She sat down opposite him and quietly finished the meal.
Ethan put down his knife and fork first, his slender and beautiful hands resting on the table, leaning back in his chair. "Miss Smith, where is your sincerity when asking for help?"
Ava gritted her teeth. She thought, ‘I have been sick while trying to ask you for help, is that not sincere enough?’
She asked, "Ethan, why do you have to make things so difficult for me?"
Ethan simply said, "Who I want to make things difficult for is my business."
Ava clenched the knife and fork in her hand, wishing she could stab Ethan right now.
