Heath and Dahlia kept talking.
"Elizabeth is a child of the Miller family. No matter what, the Smith family also has a responsibility. Hurry up and find the child!"
While they were arguing, a police car drove in from outside.
"Ms. Smith, we have located the suspect. He is in a hotel."
"But he demands to see you before he will hand over the child!"
Upon hearing this, Joseph grabbed Olivia and started walking out.
"Hurry up! It must be someone you offended before, that's why he kidnapped our child!"
Olivia stumbled and almost fell.
Fortunately, a quick-witted police officer grabbed Olivia's arm, helping her to barely stand steady.
The officer, with a stern face, continued.
"Besides Ms. Smith, the suspect also specifically asked to see Joseph. So, who is Joseph?"
Joseph's eyes widened.
"What does this have to do with me?"
He turned his head, seemingly realizing something.
Joseph let go of Olivia's hand and quickly ran to me.
"Kathie, is it you, you bitch! Jealous of us having a child, so you had someone kidnap my daughter!"
I was speechless, but I didn't want to argue with a madman right now.
"If I had kidnapped her, I wouldn't be here. Instead of accusing me, why don't you hurry up and go!"
But Joseph still wouldn't let it go.
"You are here just to create an alibi!"
He seemed to have convinced himself, with a look of "I knew it."
"Kathie, even if you love me, I am now a father. Stop having any hope for me. Call your people now and tell them to return the child safely and intact, and I might consider reducing your prison time!"
Joseph's words became more and more outrageous, and Howard finally couldn't stand it. He punched Joseph in the face.
"Nonsense! My wife likes you? Why don't you look in the mirror and see what you have over me!"
Seeing the two about to fight, the police quickly stepped in to separate them.
"Whether Ms. Brown is involved or not, we will know once we catch the suspect. Do not make random accusations now!"
With the police intervening, Joseph finally quieted down. He pulled Olivia into the police car and left first.
Jessica followed closely behind, while Howard seemed a bit worried about me.
"Kathie."
I knew Howard was also very concerned about the child's situation.
"Go ahead, we'll go together."
I held Howard's hand in return.
Howard nodded, and we got into the car and followed.
When we arrived, Jerry was standing on the rooftop, holding a small baby in his arms.
The child was crying loudly from hunger, making my heart ache.
"Don't come any closer! If you do, I'll jump!"
Jerry retreated with the child, quickly reaching the edge of the building, making my heart race again.
"Where is Olivia! Where is Joseph! Where are they!"
Jerry's voice echoed above.
Although there was an air cushion prepared below, I was still very worried about the child in his arms.
I couldn't bear to imagine what would happen to Olivia if something happened to the child.
