The string in my heart suddenly snapped!

"Mom, let me ask you again, did you have anything to do with Dad's death?"

Seeing my bloodshot eyes, Alicia flinched.

"I only found out about this later. Do you really think I killed your dad? How could that be possible? I may be a bit ruthless, but I would never harm a living person!"

I bit my lip hard, feeling an indescribable sensation in my heart.

Revenge had always been my motivation, but now, my target for revenge was wrong, and the tightly stretched string instantly snapped.

I took several deep breaths to suppress the sadness in my heart.

Back then, Sienna deliberately flaunted in front of me, just to make me give up.

Was my dad's death really an accident? Did Sienna have a hand in it?

At this moment, I finally realized that Sienna was never a simple opponent; she had no limits!

This time, I had a heart-to-heart with Alicia.

But my heart felt empty.

I walked out of the guest room in a daze and ran into Howard and Jessica.

Howard saw that something was wrong with my expression and hurriedly approached.

"Kathie..."

Before he could finish, I blacked out and fainted.

When I woke up again, all I saw was white.

I tried to lift my hand and touched something slightly cool.

"Kathie, you're awake!"

Howard leaned in, his face full of anxiety. The cool thing I touched was his hand.

I nodded but still felt very tired.

"What happened to me?"

"The doctor said you have low blood sugar and have been under a lot of stress lately. You need to rest well."

So that's what it was. In the unnoticed corners of my mind, I had almost driven myself crazy!

"How's the child?"

Hearing this, Howard couldn't help but sigh.

"It's confirmed that Jerry took the child. He specifically sent a message to Olivia to prove the child is fine."

I struggled to sit up.

"Where is the child now?"

Howard shook his head.

"Jerry is very cunning, and his hiding place is hard to find. There are no leads yet, but the police have dispatched a large force to search."

Thinking of little Liz being forced away from her mother made my heart ache.

Howard held me in his arms.

"Kathie, don't be afraid. I won't let our child get hurt like this again."

I didn't know what to say; my mind was in a mess.

But soon, someone broke the atmosphere in the room.

"Howard, come quickly, Joseph is here!"

Howard and I exchanged a glance, and he helped me walk outside.

At the door, Joseph's face was flushed, and Heath and Dahlia followed behind, looking displeased.

"Olivia, how the hell did you watch the child? I'm telling you, if anything happens to my daughter, I will never forgive you!"

Joseph was pulling Olivia, seemingly very concerned.

I found it ironic. If Joseph knew the child wasn't his, would he still be this anxious?

Olivia was on the verge of tears. She couldn't say that the child was taken by her biological father, could she? I looked around and noticed the expressions of the Smith family members were very subtle, making me uneasy.

It seemed the Smith family had long known the truth!
