Chapter 76
Dorian was thrown back and hit the ground hard. His knees hurt so much that tears were about to burst out.
But he was a tough guy. He held back his tears and got up to explain, "I didn't break it. I just came in to clean up."
Joshua looked at the plate. It was a gift from Aiden, one of the few rare treasures he had.
His fists clenched in anger, his face twisted with rage.
When he looked at Dorian, he really wanted to beat him up.
But after all, he was only a two-year-old child.
Joshua suppressed that violent impulse and snapped, "Go get your mother."
Dorian wiped the tears from his cheeks and turned to find Ella.
Ella noticed Dorian was limping. She rushed over to him and touched his legs, asking, "What happened, Dorian? Did you hurt your leg?"
Dorian held back his tears and shook his head.
"I'm fine, Mom. Mr. Thomas wants you to go to the study, but I didn't break his plate. When I got there, the plate was already broken."
Realizing something, Ella quickly picked up Dorian and rushed to the study.
When she saw Joshua crouching on the floor, carefully picking up the pieces one by one, her heart jumped.
She recognized that plate. It was a gift from Aiden to Joshua before he died.
Forget about how valuable it was.
But with Aiden gone, it was something Joshua had to remember him by.
She put Dorian down and hurried over to help pick up the pieces.
But Joshua coldly pushed her away.
"Did I ask you to touch it? Ella, if you can't watch your kid, then throw him out."
Pushed away, Ella lost her balance and fell to the floor.
Dorian, ignoring the pain in his knee, quickly reached out to help Ella up, and couldn't help shouting at Joshua, "Can you stop treating my mom like this? She's still sick, and she's been working all day. She's already exhausted."
This Joshua was really hateful.
Not only did he falsely accuse him of breaking the plate, he also kicked Mom, and now he pushed Ella.
Dorian was keeping track of every grudge, and when he grew up, he would pay them all back.
"Isn't it her job to work? She owes the Thomas family so much."
Joshua glared coldly at Dorian, gathered the broken pieces and put them away, then walked to the desk and turned on the computer.
Ella didn't know what he was going to do. She got up and approached him, trying to explain, "Dorian said he didn't break it, so he definitely didn't break it."
"What, did I break it myself then?"
Joshua didn't even want to look at her. His fingers flew across the keyboard.
Ella was speechless.
There were no cameras in the study. She and her son had no way to prove their innocence.
She'd been cleaning the house all day. There were only a few people in the whole villa.
She'd just finish cleaning one area, and it would be dirty again.
Besides Scarlett making trouble behind the scenes, who else had such a vicious mind?
Joshua printed out an agreement and put it in front of Ella. "Sign it."
It was a compensation agreement.
It stated that Dorian broke the plate, but Ella, as his mother, would pay compensation.
The value: one hundred million dollars.
After reading it, Ella immediately refused. "Dorian said he didn't break the plate."
Joshua had no patience to hear her excuses and directly threatened, "Ella, if you don't sign, I'll immediately stop Aurora's medication. Aurora's going to die soon anyway."
"I'll sign."
Hearing about Aurora, Ella didn't hesitate. She picked up the pen and wrote her name.
She looked at Joshua nervously and worriedly. "I'll do whatever you want, but please make sure Aurora stays alive."
As long as Aurora could live, she would do anything he asked.
Even if it cost her life.
Joshua looked displeased. He put away the agreement, got up and said, "Watch your kid. If anything else happens, I'll throw him out directly."
Ella didn't take it seriously.
After Joshua left the study, she quickly pulled Dorian into her arms and comforted him, "Dorian, don't take it to heart. When Aurora gets better and comes back to us, we'll take her and leave together, back to where we used to live."
There, without Joshua, life might be harder, but at least they'd be happy.
Her Aurora and Dorian wouldn't be bullied.
She would work hard and try to get away from Joshua as soon as possible, to disappear from his world.
Dorian buried himself in Ella's neck, feeling wronged.
"But I really didn't break his stuff. When I came in, it was already broken all over the floor."
Hearing Dorian's choked-up crying voice, Ella's heart ached. She held him even tighter.
"I know you didn't break it. Someone else broke it on purpose to frame us. Let's go settle the score with them."
Dorian nodded and was led away by Ella, still limping.
Ella crouched down again and pulled him over, lifting his pant leg.
When she saw that a large patch of skin on Dorian's knee was scraped off and bleeding, her heart ached even more.
"Dorian, why didn't you tell Mom? Did Joshua do this?"
Dorian blinked his watery eyes and told the truth, "He pushed me and I fell."
Ella was furious.
She couldn't believe Joshua was so cruel.
He wouldn't even spare a three-year-old child.
She held back the tears in her eyes and carried Dorian back to the maid's room downstairs.
After applying medicine to Dorian, Ella stroked his little face and comforted him, "Dorian, rest on the bed. Mom will go get you something to eat."
Dorian believed her and stayed obediently on the bed.
After Ella left, she searched the whole villa for Scarlett.
Finally, she found her in the guest bedroom where she used to live.
Scarlett was shamelessly trying on the jewelry in front of the vanity.
Without any hesitation, Ella walked over and slapped her hard across the face.
That slap stunned Scarlett. Her cheek immediately burned with pain.
She suddenly stood up and glared at Ella, her face twisted.
"How dare you hit me? What gives you the right to hit me?"
Scarlett was furious and raised her hand to hit back.
Seeing a figure appear at the door, she immediately changed her attitude and started crying sweetly.
"Ella, why did you hit me?"
Ella thought that if she didn't teach Scarlett a lesson, she would only get worse in bullying her children.
Her children were her bottom line. If anyone dared to hurt them, she would fight them to the death.
She could even give up her life. How could she care about the consequences?
"Scarlett, listen to me. If you ever hurt my child again, I'll kill you with my own hands."
"I didn't."
Scarlett lowered her head and cried out loud.
Just then, Joshua walked in with a cold presence. "Go ahead and kill someone. Let me see."
Ella turned around. Seeing Joshua deliver himself to her door, thinking about how he wouldn't even spare a three-year-old child.
As a mother, at this moment Ella had completely lost all reason. She only wanted revenge for Dorian.
Ella walked up to Joshua in two steps and slapped him hard across the face.
"You're no better. This slap is payback for pushing Dorian and hurting him."
