Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Scarlett looked up and glanced at Joshua across from her.

Seeing him act as if he hadn't heard anything, she stood up and faced Ella, putting on a gracious act.

"Ella, you're up. Are you okay? Would you like to sit down and eat with us?"

Ella ignored her and stared at Joshua, asking again, "Can I see Aurora?"

As long as Joshua would let her have Aurora.

She definitely wouldn't disturb his time alone with Scarlett and would leave immediately with Dorian.

If he wouldn't give her Aurora, then she'd have no choice but to stay here.

"I have no obligation to do that."

Joshua suddenly replied coldly, put down his knife and fork, stood up, and left without wanting to look at her, striding away.

"Joshua."

Ella reached out to grab him.

But Joshua shook her off hard.

This caused Ella, who was already weak and powerless, to fall directly to the ground.

"Mommy."

Dorian quickly reached out to help her up, shouting angrily at Joshua, "What are you doing? Why do you keep bullying my mom?"

He really hated Joshua now.

But Ella insisted on staying here, living under Joshua's control.

Just wait, when he got bigger, he would definitely get revenge for Ella.

Joshua glanced at the mother and son, then disappeared from the living room without caring.

He left the house and went to the company.

Ella collapsed on the ground, feeling terrible.

Plus, after sleeping for two days without eating, she didn't even have the strength to stand.

Seeing Joshua leave and still refusing to let her see Aurora, she struggled to get up.

But then she saw a pair of legs standing in front of her.

It was Scarlett.

Scarlett stood before her, looking down at her arrogantly with a bold smile.

"Ella, are you okay? Do you need me to help you up?"

She reached out her hand to Ella with fake concern.

After all, with the child and the housekeeper around, she couldn't be too obvious.

But her false sympathy was performed to perfection.

Ella knew Scarlett's true nature well and ignored her, struggling to stand up with Dorian's help.

Scarlett watched her barely able to stand steady, swaying as if she might fall at any moment.

She smiled coldly and said smugly, "Ella, I need to tell you something. From now on, I'm the lady of this house. Joshua said if you want to see Aurora, you have to serve him and me like a maid."

"If you serve us well, maybe when he's in a good mood, he'll let you see Aurora."

Next, she would make Ella really feel what it's like to be unable to defend yourself, so desperate you'd rather be dead.

Daring to steal her man—she must be tired of living.

Ella stood there dazed, unwilling to look at Scarlett's arrogant face, and stumbled back to her room.

However, her indifference only made Scarlett's anger burn hotter.

She stepped forward and blocked Ella's way.

"Ella, I'm done eating. Go clean up the dining room now!"

Before Ella could respond, Dorian immediately stood in front of her and pushed Scarlett hard.

"Go away! Don't bully my mom."

Dorian puffed out his little face, trying to look fierce, with his hands on his hips—he actually looked quite imposing.

Scarlett snorted coldly and looked at him. "Dorian, have you forgotten that when your mom died, I was the one who took care of you?"

Dorian glared at her even more fiercely. "I haven't forgotten. You also gave me sleeping pills so I couldn't wake up."

"You're a bad woman. Mr. Thomas may be blind, but I'm not."

"You..."

Hearing what Dorian said, Scarlett quickly defended herself, "You brat, I gave you cold medicine. Don't make false accusations."

"Go away, bad woman."

Dorian pushed Scarlett again and took Ella's hand.

"Mommy, let's go back to our room."

Ella felt warm inside watching Dorian protect her like this.

She avoided Scarlett and dragged her aching body back to the room.

Scarlett's face changed with anger. She turned to Karen and ordered, "You heard what Joshua said before. If you dare help Ella, I think you know the consequences."

Karen looked very unhappy.

Scarlett was clearly the mistress. Joshua and Ella hadn't even gotten their divorce certificate yet. She didn't know what she was so proud of.

But Joshua had indeed given her certain instructions.

Karen went to the kitchen to prepare some food, brought it to the maid's room, and told Ella, "Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Thomas did say before that you should work like me. He said if you can hold on for three months, he'll give Aurora back to you."

Ella took the food and asked weakly, "Did he really find Aurora? Can you contact Patricia?"

As long as she could get Aurora back.

Never mind three months of work. She'd be willing to do three years.

Karen hesitated, then after a while pulled out her phone, dialed Patricia's number, and handed it to her.

Ella grabbed the phone. After the other side answered, she asked excitedly, "Patricia, where are you now? Is my Aurora with you?"

On the other end, Patricia said, "Ms. Garcia! Thank goodness you're really alive. Aurora is indeed with me."

"But Mr. Thomas won't let me contact you or tell you Aurora's exact location."

"Aurora is seriously injured right now and is still in the ICU being treated. How about I send you a video?"

Ella knew Aurora was injured.

But she didn't know how serious it was. She quickly asked Patricia to send a video.

When she saw little Aurora covered in tubes, wearing an oxygen mask, lying unconscious in the hospital bed, she couldn't hold back her tears.

Fighting her emotions, Ella asked Patricia with a choked voice, "Aurora won't be in life-threatening danger, right?"

Patricia confirmed, giving her hope.

"Mr. Thomas got the best specialists. They say she's out of danger now, but she's injured all over and needs several months of hospital treatment."

"Ms. Garcia, I have to hang up now. Mr. Thomas's assistant is coming."

Before Ella could say more, the call was cut off.

Ella held the phone and watched the video of Aurora lying in the hospital bed over and over.

As long as her Aurora was alive, that was more important than anything.

Thinking that since Joshua had hired the best doctors to treat her Aurora, she would work hard to satisfy him.

She quickly ate her food, and even though her body hadn't recovered, Ella still got up to work.

Dorian followed her, feeling very sorry for her.

"Mommy, let me help you."

Before, Dorian had always thought Joshua was lying to them.

He didn't expect he'd actually found Aurora.

For the sake of Joshua helping them save Aurora, he could only help Ella work together.

Ella crouched down and touched Dorian's little face, feeling very guilty. "I'm sorry, Dorian. Mommy is making you suffer with me."

"No way! As long as I'm with Mommy, I'm happy doing anything."

Dorian was very understanding and quickly ran to the storage room to get a cloth.

To torment the mother and son, Scarlett made the entire villa a complete mess.

She even went to Joshua's study and broke an antique that Aiden had given Joshua before he died.

When Dorian saw broken pieces in the study and went to clean them up, he happened to be caught by Joshua coming home from work.

Joshua assumed he had broken the antique.

He walked over, grabbed Dorian, threw him aside, and shouted sternly, "Dorian, are you looking for death? Who told you to come into the study?"
