Chapter 117
Scarlett ran out of the hotel and saw Mason sitting in a car parked by the roadside, as if he'd been waiting for her.
She walked over angrily and shouted at Mason through the car window, "Why? Why are you doing this to me? Mason, is this how you show your love for me?"
Mason had actually filmed a video of them having sex and sent it to Joshua.
Now, no matter what she did, Joshua definitely wouldn't want her anymore.
She hadn't embarrassed Joshua at the wedding, but Joshua had completely humiliated her.
With so many guests there, he just canceled the wedding like that and left her alone so decisively.
Joshua must be disgusted with her.
Thinking that all of this was Mason's doing, Scarlett wanted him dead.
Mason sat in the car, looking calm and composed, "You deceived me and never intended to be with me, so why should I help you?"
Mason looked at Scarlett, his eyes still holding some remnants of their relationship, "Scarlett, don't forget who gave you everything you have today. I'm giving you two choices now, either come with me and I'll deal with the family elders, or leave the Lewis family and never step foot in the Lewis family's door again."
They'd already slept together. If Scarlett rejected him, he couldn't tolerate her being part of the Lewis family anymore.
Today, he had to settle things with her once and for all.
"Why are you forcing me? Mason, do you know what you did today has ruined my whole life?"
Scarlett felt like she was going crazy, tears falling from anxiety.
Even though Mason was her backup plan, with Joshua calling off the wedding on the spot, if she chose Mason now, the Lewis family would never accept her.
She wouldn't be able to stay in Emerald City anymore.
Mason's gaze turned cold, "I told you, if you come with me, I'll handle all the consequences. I'm giving you three seconds. If you don't leave now, you won't get this chance again."
He still loved Scarlett.
He was willing to give her one more chance.
If she still didn't choose him after all this, it proved Scarlett didn't have him in her heart at all.
He didn't need her then.
Scarlett hesitated.
Maybe Mason was her only choice now.
Even though she liked Joshua more and thought Joshua was better than Mason, but Joshua didn't want her anymore. She had no other choice.
Even if Mason wasn't the best, he was still the Lewis family's only son, worth billions of dollars—wealth she could never spend in a lifetime.
Filled with anger, she pulled open the car door and got in.
Seeing her finally get in, Mason breathed a sigh of relief and drove away before his family could come after them.
Joshua quickly arrived at the cemetery.
Sure enough, he found Ella and her son in front of Aurora's tombstone.
He approached them, gently crouched beside Ella, and reached out to help her up, "Ella."
Ella was still in grief and ignored him.
Dorian beside her saw Joshua and started kicking at him with his little legs, "You big bad guy, who told you to come here? Where were you when we begged you before? Why are you here now? Get away, don't touch my mom, don't disturb Aurora, go away, go away."
Joshua found Dorian really difficult to deal with and felt helpless.
Knowing he couldn't reason with Dorian, he didn't mind Dorian constantly kicking him and just looked at Ella and said, "I canceled the wedding. I won't have anything to do with Scarlett anymore. Will you come back to Tranquil Villa with me?"
Even if they couldn't get back together, as long as Ella was willing to live at Tranquil Villa, it would be good if he could know what she was doing at all times.
He was even willing to help her raise Dorian.
Ella had calmed down quite a bit.
She didn't care about Joshua canceling the wedding.
Whether he married Scarlett or not, she didn't care at all.
Thinking about how the two children were Joshua's, thinking about Aurora's dying wish—just wanting Joshua to spend more time with her, but Joshua didn't, Ella felt really hurt inside. She turned around and slapped Joshua hard across the face.
Her swollen eyes glared at him, with no feelings for him, only hatred, "What right do you have to be here? I don't care who you marry or don't marry. Joshua, I hate you and will never forgive you in this lifetime. Get out of here now, I don't want to see you again."
Joshua looked at Aurora's tombstone, feeling really bad inside.
He knew he'd been too cold-hearted back then, otherwise Aurora might not have died.
He admitted he was responsible for Aurora's death. Not caring that Ella hit him, he continued to ask for reconciliation in a low voice, "Ella, I'm sorry! Will you come back with me first? I promise I won't marry Scarlett. I won't marry anyone from now on."
"Get out."
Ella hated Joshua so much, she screamed with all her heart.
If it weren't for him four years ago, would she have gone abroad?
If it weren't for him, how could she have come back to the country and lost her Aurora?
This Joshua was heartless and cold-blooded. If it weren't for revenge, she never wanted to have anything to do with him again in this lifetime.
"Ella..."
Joshua felt sorry for her and was about to say something more.
Dorian couldn't help but kick him again, "My mom told you to get out. Hurry up and get out. I don't want to see you. You're just a big bad guy."
To avoid Dorian, Joshua had no choice but to stand up and step back.
Ella steadied her emotions, stood up holding Dorian's hand, and touched Aurora's tombstone, her voice hoarse, "Aurora, you stay here alone. After mom finishes her business, I'll come see you with Dorian."
Really not wanting Joshua to defile Aurora's grave, Ella left with Dorian.
When she left, Joshua naturally followed.
But when they got in the car, they didn't take him with them. The car quickly drove away.
Joshua stood by the roadside, his mood complicated.
He knew he had no right to look for Ella.
But somehow, after not marrying Scarlett, all he could think about was Ella.
He didn't deny that he still wanted to reconcile with her.
But Ella didn't seem to feel the same way about him as before. He didn't know what Ella was thinking.
Watching them leave, Joshua also got in his car and headed back to the city.
After settling Scarlett, Mason returned to the Lewis Villa alone.
He happened to run into the Lewis family elders sitting in the living room, angry about Joshua running away from the wedding.
They were clamoring to go to the Thomas family to demand an explanation, but they couldn't reach Scarlett either.
Seeing Mason come back, Heath Lewis flew into a rage, "Such a big thing happened today, where did you run off to? Hurry up and bring Scarlett back."
Mason calmly stepped forward and told everyone, "I'm the one who did this today. Mom, Dad, I love Scarlett. I won't allow her to marry Joshua."
Mason knew that doing this would make everyone oppose him.
After all, Scarlett was also part of the Lewis family.
Even though they weren't blood-related, she'd lived in the Lewis family for twenty-one years. Everyone outside knew Scarlett was his sister.
Yet he wanted to make Scarlett his wife.
They definitely couldn't accept it.
"What did you say?"
Everyone was shocked. Heath pointed at Mason, his face ugly, "Say that again."
Mason wasn't flustered at all and said calmly, "What if I told you I found Flora? I'll bring Flora home. Would you agree to let me be with Scarlett?"
