Chapter 151
Zachary didn't know that Dorian had already been sent to the Thomas family by the Lewis family.
After helping Ella into the car, he said, "Mom and Dad are watching him at home. We're heading back now, and you'll see him as soon as we get there."
Ella nodded.
Throughout the journey, she still felt uneasy.
Because Joshua had come to the police station earlier and told her he would get her released, but he had to take Dorian away.
She really hoped Dorian wouldn't fall into his hands.
It wasn't a long drive, and Zachary's car soon pulled into the Lewis Villa.
Ella got out and rushed straight inside.
To her surprise, Heath, Rhea, and Mason were all there.
The three of them sat in the living room, as if specifically waiting for her return.
Seeing Ella, all three stood up to greet her, "Ella, you're finally back. You've suffered these past few days."
"We're sorry. We're useless as parents."
"Did anyone bully you in there?"
Rhea looked at Ella with heartache, seeing how much weight she'd lost, her eyes reddening.
Ella shook her head, saying she was fine. She glanced around, didn't see Dorian, and asked, "Mom, Dad, where's Dorian? Is he resting upstairs?"
Ella turned to go upstairs to see Dorian.
But Rhea grabbed her arm.
Rhea lowered her head, covering her face as tears fell, and told her the truth with guilt, "I'm sorry, Ella. To get the settlement letter from the Thomas family, we sent Dorian to Joshua."
They knew that once Ella came back and found out they'd sent Dorian away, she would blame them. They were prepared for that.
They just hoped Ella wouldn't go make trouble with Joshua again.
At their age, they couldn't handle any more stress. They only hoped Ella could stay by their side forever, safe and healthy.
"What did you say?"
Ella stood there in a daze, hardly believing it, and pulled away from Rhea's touch.
"Didn't I tell you I'd rather go to jail than let Dorian be with him? Why didn't you listen to me?"
She had gone to the Thomas family to get Dorian back, which was how she'd hurt Joshua.
Now Dorian had still ended up in Joshua's hands. Did they expect her to go kill Joshua this time?
Ella couldn't accept Dorian leaving her. She turned to leave and get Dorian back.
The Lewis family members quickly held her back.
Rhea was afraid Ella would act impulsively like last time, and pleaded with her, "Ella, we can't fight Joshua. And Dorian said that when he grows up, he'll come back on his own."
"Don't be impulsive. I'll go talk to Ava later, and they'll allow us to visit him regularly."
Heath added, "Dorian is a good kid. He volunteered to do this hoping you could get out sooner."
After all, Dorian was Joshua's child. No matter what, he probably wouldn't suffer there.
It was just the mother and son being separated. Ella would miss him, but they could find ways to visit.
Being impulsive really wouldn't solve anything.
Zachary stood in front of Ella, taking her hand to comfort her, "Listen to Mom and Dad. We'll think of a long-term plan. We can't act like last time."
Ella tried to stay rational and was willing to listen to them.
But she still wanted to see Dorian. She turned to look at Mason, "You have a good relationship with Joshua, right? I won't go snatch Dorian back, but you need to arrange for me to video call with Dorian."
She needed to hear what Dorian had to say.
If Dorian wasn't doing well there, even if it cost her life, she would still get Dorian back.
Mason understood and quickly left for the Thomas Manor.
Zachary added, "I'll prepare the documents right away to sue Joshua. We'll get Dorian back through the courts."
They had a good chance of winning custody.
First, Dorian only recognized Ella.
And Dorian had been with Ella since birth.
Although they might not have as much money as the Thomas family, they had the ability to raise Dorian. No matter how the court ruled, Dorian would be theirs.
Ella nodded.
Then Rhea led her back to her room, to take a bath and change clothes, eat something, and wait for Dorian's video call.
The Thomas Manor.
Dorian sat on the big bed, dazed and blank, refusing to eat or drink.
Ava sat beside him with food, but no matter how she coaxed him, he wouldn't open his mouth.
Joshua wheeled himself in and saw Dorian looking angry, as if protesting through a hunger strike.
He wheeled up to Dorian and deliberately provoked him, "If you don't eat, how will you grow up? If you don't grow up, how will you live to see your mom? Be good and listen, and Dad will give you whatever you want in the future."
Dorian glanced at Joshua, puffing out his cheeks in anger, "Did you have them let my mom out? I want to see my mom."
Joshua took the bowl from Ava's hands and handed it to him, "Eat first. After you eat, I'll let you video call your mom."
Dorian hesitated.
He didn't think the big bad guy would be so easy to talk to.
He'd already planned that once Ella got out, he'd find a chance to escape.
Then he'd go back to Ella on his own.
He didn't want to live with this big bad guy.
"Eat now. After you eat, I'll let you video call your mom."
Joshua looked at the child gently, thinking that by now, Ella should have been picked up and taken back to the Lewis family.
Thinking about how Ella didn't want to divorce Zachary and didn't want to come back to him.
He wouldn't force her anymore.
As long as Dorian stayed by his side, and he worked hard to be a good father, making up for the harm he'd caused Aurora.
That way his life wouldn't seem so full of regrets.
Dorian finally gave in and took the bowl, eating slowly.
After two bites, he stared at Joshua again, "Hurry up and video call Mom. I want to see Mom."
Joshua pulled out his phone and handed it to him, letting him make the call himself.
"If you're good and listen from now on, I'll let you see your mom once a week. If you don't listen, I'll have the police arrest your mom again."
He was threatening Dorian.
But Dorian wasn't easily scared.
He quickly grabbed the phone to video call Ella.
But he found he couldn't get through—Ella seemed to have blocked this number.
Remembering he knew Rhea's number, he called her instead.
Rhea was having dinner with Ella.
The maid picked up her phone and brought it over, "Mrs. Lewis, it seems to be a call from Mr. Thomas. Do you want to answer?"
Rhea took the phone, thinking that if it was Joshua calling, it must be about Dorian. She quickly answered.
It turned out to be a video call, and immediately, Dorian's handsome little face appeared on the phone.
His childish, soft voice came through, "Grandma, is Mom home? Is she okay?"
Rhea quickly handed the phone to Ella.
Ella took it, and when she saw Dorian, tears burst from her eyes.
She choked up, struggling to speak, "Dorian, are you okay there? Wait for me, Mom will find a way to get you back."
Dorian saw that Joshua and Ava were there, so he didn't answer Ella's question.
He just acted mature and said, "Mom, I'm glad you're back. Don't worry about me. Dad and Grandma are treating me well. Look, they even prepared good food for me."
Since Ella was already home, he had to pretend to obey Joshua.
Once they let their guard down, he'd find a chance to run back home and reunite with Ella.
Ella listened to Dorian's words.
Looking at Dorian's situation, he seemed to be in a room.
He was able to call using Joshua's phone—did Joshua allow it?
And Joshua was right there beside him?
Realizing that Dorian couldn't possibly be so obedient to Joshua, and seeming to guess Dorian's intention, Ella changed her tone too.
"Since you're doing well there, just stay with them and be good. Don't worry about Mom. Mom is fine now."
Dorian nodded, "Okay, Mom. Take care of yourself and try to have a baby with Dad. That way, even without me, you'll have a little sister to keep you company."
However, hearing this, Joshua felt uncomfortable.
He grabbed the phone and looked at Ella in the video.
"That's enough for today. Don't worry, I won't mistreat Dorian."
Joshua hung up the video, looked at Dorian on the bed, and warned, "Don't ever tell your mom to have a baby with Zachary again, you hear me?"
Although Ella had told him she couldn't have children anymore.
But thinking about how Ella and Zachary were married, and now that Ella was out of the police station, maybe tonight they would sleep together.
Joshua felt increasingly stuffy in his chest, waves of sourness rising in his heart.
He wheeled himself around and left, wanting to get some air.
Dorian glared at his back, really wanting to throw a bowl at him.
Seeing Ava watching him from the side, he pretended to be obedient again and buried his head in his food.
The Lewis Villa.
Ella put down her phone and ate her meal in peace.
She understood Dorian—he would definitely find a way to escape.
She had to drive around the Thomas Manor from time to time and wait.
So when Dorian got out, she could pick him up.
That evening, Rhea took Ella back to her room and comforted her for a long time before getting up to leave.
Then Zachary came into the room.
Seeing Ella leaning against the headboard, the warm wall lamp casting light on her thin face, she still looked so haggard and sad.
He walked over and sat beside her, reaching out to try to touch her face.
"I've got the documents almost ready. When do you want to file the lawsuit?"
Ella wasn't used to Zachary touching her.
But thinking that they were married now.
Pulling away would hurt Zachary's feelings.
Ella endured the discomfort and didn't pull away, saying calmly, "Let's wait a bit longer. Dorian video called me, and I feel like Dorian will come back on his own."
If they sued now and angered Joshua, what if Joshua locked Dorian up and didn't allow them to see each other again?
Although Dorian wasn't with her now, as long as he was okay, they could wait and see if there might be a better solution.
Zachary respected Ella's wishes.
Touching Ella's face and looking at her beautiful features, honestly, he really wanted to have sex with her.
But thinking that Ella had just gotten out of the police station and definitely wasn't in the mood, he decided to wait a bit longer!
Zachary didn't choose to leave, but got into bed from the other side.
Ella watched his movements, suddenly feeling a bit panicked.
She really wasn't ready to fuck Zachary.
Her hands unconsciously gripped the sheets tightly.
Zachary also leaned against the headboard and pulled her into his arms.
"Let me tell you some news I just received—Scarlett killed herself in the police station by running into a wall."
