Chapter 213

Chapter 213

"You've really got the wrong place. There's only my mom here." Samuel patiently explained to Milo, even finding some snacks from the kitchen to give him, not forgetting to show off, "My mom made these. They're really good."

Milo wolfed down the food, clearly he'd been out for quite a while.

"Eat slower, okay?" Samuel poured him some milk.

Milo's mouth was stuffed full as he looked at Samuel, "My mom, she's my mom."

"But..." Samuel was getting anxious. What should he do? Someone was trying to take his mom away, "But this is my mom."

Little Samuel was experiencing what a robber felt like for the first time. Why did he open the door for him?

"She is my mom."

"No, she's not."

So, after what felt like forever, when Nora finally emerged from the bathroom—her face flushed, moving carefully, she could hear the sound of two children crying in the distance.

"Samuel, what's wrong?" Nora got worried and rushed forward.

Her legs felt a bit weak and she almost fell, but Michael caught her from behind and held her in his arms.

Hearing the two kids crying, Michael's eyelid twitched badly.

He had a bad feeling about this.

Sure enough, when they got to the living room, he could see clearly,it was Milo from the Fields family.

"Milo?" Nora was shocked too, looking at Milo, then at Michael, then at Samuel.

Even when crying, the two kids looked similar.

As soon as Milo saw Nora, he rushed over, "Mommy! I miss you!"

"Where's your dad?" Michael quickly pressed down on Milo's head, not letting him get close to his wife.

Were all the people in the Fields family useless? They couldn't even watch one kid?

"I want Mommy!" Milo cried even harder.

Michael felt his heart tighten at the crying and quickly let go.

Did he just bully a little kid?

He used to have no sympathy for children, but lately his compassion had been overflowing.

"Don't cry, don't cry." Nora quickly pulled Milo into her arms and comforted him, "Milo, how did you find your way here?"

"Mommy, I missed you." Milo sobbed, holding onto Nora tightly, afraid she would abandon him.

Milo felt terribly wronged, his eyes red from crying.

Samuel stood to the side, carefully watching Michael. He was clearly scared, scared that someone would really take his mom away, but he still reminded himself to be good and not cry.

Michael seemed to read the child's mind. Samuel and Nora were a lot alike in some ways, probably because they had both endured so much during those five years of growing up.

Feeling sorry for him, Michael held Samuel in his arms and spoke softly, "He's a kid from someone we know who goes around calling random people mom."

Samuel hugged Michael, "Will he take Mommy and Daddy away from me?"

"No, I'll call right now and have his family come pick him up." Michael was about to go make a call to Daryl.

The kid really had some nerve,a five-year-old managing to find his way here all by himself.

"Mommy, I want to be with you." Milo also held onto Nora fearfully. He could tell Michael didn't like the Fields family or him, but he wanted to be with his mom.

Before Michael could make the call, the doorbell rang.

Looking outside, Michael opened the door with a dark expression, "You found him fast enough."

Outside was Daryl.

Daryl breathed a sigh of relief and reached out to hug Samuel, "Milo probably overheard me talking with his dad and found out your address."

"Can't even watch one kid properly." Seeing Daryl about to hug Samuel, Michael slapped his hand away, "Can't even tell kids apart? Look carefully, this is my son."

Michael deeply felt that Daryl was both blind and stupid.

Daryl froze for a moment, only then seeing clearly that Samuel wasn't Milo.

His expression darkened. Daryl was very unhappy with Michael's attitude toward him.

His gaze fell on Nora in the living room, and he noticed Milo hiding behind her.

Milo fearfully clutched Nora's clothes, "Mommy, I want to stay with you. Don't let Uncle Daryl take me away."

"Does the Fields family abuse children?" Michael frowned.

Otherwise why would Milo be so resistant?

Daryl felt truly wronged.

The whole Fields family adored and spoiled Milo. Otherwise, why would they let him run wild all over the place like that?

He was just spoiled rotten.

"Milo, come back with me. Stop being difficult." The little guy being able to find this place and find Nora—honestly, Daryl was quite surprised.

"NO!" Milo cried even harder.

Nora's heart ached hearing this, and she suggested softly, "Mr. Fields, if you're not in a hurry to take Milo back home, how about letting him stay here for a while?"

Michael could tell Nora genuinely liked Milo.

"If it's for a long time, I'll arrange for school,he can go to school with my son." Michael gave Nora the confidence.

Nora glanced at Michael and bit her lip gratefully.

"That's my mom." Samuel spoke up, feeling wronged, wanting to cry but not daring to.

He was afraid Nora would be taken away.

"No she's not, she's my mommy!" Milo yelled at Samuel.

Samuel cried from feeling wronged.

"If my son doesn't agree, I won't let you stay." Michael warned Milo.

Milo was clearly spoiled by the Fields family.

Milo wiped his tears, also wanting to cry.

Michael didn't like him and could send him away from Nora at any time.

"Samuel." Nora wanted to comfort Samuel but was afraid of upsetting Milo. She was torn.

"Michael, don't be too harsh on Milo. He has a congenital heart condition. Everyone in the Fields family worked so hard to keep him alive, otherwise he wouldn't have survived his first year." Daryl warned Michael not to scare Milo.

Michael pressed his hand to his forehead. He was already beginning to regret letting Milo stay.

This chaotic life.

He'd been way too kind-hearted lately.

"I hate you!" Milo looked at Michael like a small beast under threat.

Michael didn't like him, and he didn't like Michael either.

Milo said he hated Michael.

"Then go back with Daryl." Michael really didn't know how to deal with this kind of problem child.

By comparison, their Samuel was simply an angel.

What kind of little demon had the Fields family raised?

"I hate your guts!" Milo was like a fearless little wolf cub, expressing his dislike for Michael, "I don't want to leave Mommy."

Michael felt quite innocent. Why didn't kids like him?

Except for Samuel, it seemed no child had liked him from the start.

"Michael, how about we let him stay?" Nora looked at Michael nervously.

"You're in charge of this house." Michael said in a deep voice, every word meant for Daryl to hear.

Warning him to stop staring at Nora!

No matter how much you look, she's not yours, she's mine!

Daryl's expression visibly changed, and he snorted.
