"If you don't apologize publicly today, I won't let this slander slide." Atticus said angrily, demanding that Claire and Evelyn make a public apology.

"I suggest you quit while you're ahead and stop making a scene, while I still have some patience left," James warned Atticus, his eyes never leaving Nora.

Watching Nora chatting and laughing with Michael, blushing shyly from time to time, James wanted nothing more than to rush over and take Nora away.

In James's mind, Nora was his, loved him, once belonged to him, and even if he didn't want her anymore, she couldn't belong to anyone else.

Seeing Nora smile at another man drove him crazy with jealousy.

"I insist they both apologize to me publicly." Atticus glanced at Claire. "Apologize."

"Who do you think you are? Even if my husband can't compare to Michael, he's still better than you. Why would I need to apologize to you?" Claire sneered.

"Who's your husband?" Atticus asked casually.

"CityView International is our family's company, a level someone like you will never reach in your lifetime." Claire said mockingly.

Atticus raised an eyebrow and took out his phone to make a call.

"What an act. I've met every rich person in Emerald City." Claire complained quietly.

Evelyn had never met Atticus either, so naturally didn't know he was from the Fields family.

"James, Nora's been getting more and more arrogant since she hooked up with Michael." Evelyn said quietly, trying to get James to expose Nora's true colors.

Honestly, Evelyn was jealous of how protective Michael was of Nora.

But after Evelyn finished speaking, James didn't respond to her.

Evelyn froze for a moment, looked up at James, and saw him staring at Nora and Michael with anger all over his face.

Clearly, he still had feelings for Nora.

"James!" Evelyn lost control of her emotions a bit.

James snapped back. "What?"

"You're still looking at Nora. Do you regret it? Are you jealous, jealous that she's with Michael now? She's just getting revenge on you, deliberately seducing Michael." Evelyn said angrily.

"Sharp-tongued and mean, jealous by nature, like a shrew slandering people everywhere, with no manners or principles, selfish and vicious, thinking the whole world owes her and should indulge her - how did you fall for a woman like this?"

James clenched his fists. Michael insulting Evelyn was insulting him.

"Or is it birds of a feather flock together?" Michael stepped forward, his presence overwhelming.

"I know better than you what kind of person Nora is. I understand her better." James said in a low voice.

"My woman is none of your business. I'll take the time to truly understand a person, unlike you - heartless, soulless, and brainless." Michael's voice was equally low, and after finishing, he added, "If you don't want trouble, take your fiancée and get lost, idiot."

He should thank this idiot for leaving Nora to him.

James's clenched fist was trembling. He looked at Nora coldly. "You think just because Michael's protecting you, you can keep being so arrogant?"

Nora looked at James, and after a long while finally cursed. "None of your business! You're sick."

Although she only knew how to curse this one way now, she was trying to learn more.

James was so angry his chest hurt. "Nora!"

"Show some respect, you rude thing." Michael kicked James with his hands in his pockets.

Hearing Nora curse made him quite happy.

James was about to get angry when his phone rang.

The call was from Nolan.

"James! You idiot, how did you offend the Fields family?" On the other end, Nolan was screaming at James. "I'm telling you, I don't care what you do today, but if the Fields family doesn't forgive you, you can get out of the Smith family."

Without Michael, the Smith Group was restricted everywhere in business by Unity Realty. Recently, Unity Realty had been fighting back aggressively, trending toward surpassing the Smith Group's dominance.

Someone as face-conscious as Nolan couldn't let the Smith Group fall behind, which is why he was so desperate to curry favor with the Fields family.

Because import-export trade was a huge profit area, Nolan had to hold tight to the Fields family lifeline.

"The Fields family?" James was confused and instinctively looked at Atticus.

"Useless thing, more trouble than you're worth. Daryl personally called me saying you provoked his brother. Why did you have to provoke him! Which of the three Fields brothers can be messed with!" Nolan was furious with James.

"Handle this right now! And then get back here!" After yelling, Nolan hung up directly.

Just as the call ended, Claire's husband came running back, out of breath.

He had driven away a few blocks feeling embarrassed when he got a call from the Fields Group project manager, saying the third son of the Fields family brought his child to parent day, his wife spoke rudely and offended the Fields family, and the Fields family was cutting off cooperation.

Atticus snorted. "Your wife said I was a kept man, scamming women for money, being supported by women, and that everything I'm wearing is fake. She insulted me and my girlfriend."

After speaking, Atticus proudly pointed at Nora.

"Watch your mouth, she's a female friend." Michael warned Atticus with a dark expression.

Nora was his.

Seeing it was Michael speaking, Claire's husband gasped and nearly fainted from lack of oxygen.

Who had Claire offended!

"Mr. Smith!"

"Mr. Fields, this is my wife's fault. She was blind. I'll make her apologize!" Claire's husband was terrified.

Claire was already scared out of her wits, her face pale. "Mr. Fields?"

The Fields family? Novaria's richest family, the Fields family?

Compared to Claire, Evelyn and James didn't look much better.

Over there, Evelyn's phone rang too.

The call was from Aiden. "Evelyn, how did you offend the Fields family? The Fields family is cutting cooperation with the Adams family."

Evelyn's vision went dark.
