Chapter 180 Bring it on

Chapter 180 Bring it on

The days that followed in the countryside mansion went by in a blur, filled with excitement and sweet noises.

The mothers were in charge of everything—food, the wedding venue, which was the mansion garden, etc.

The fathers were in charge of the finances and supplying the wine. It was such a hefty task, filled with a lot of arguments and competition, because all the fathers wanted to contribute to the wedding financially.

The grooms and Corbyn were in charge of music, speeches, MC, etc.

The quadruplets were the flower children who used every chance to remind everyone that their parents were getting married.

Valencia, Aviva, Aneira, and Lessie spent their time choosing the wedding dresses.

During the week, a lot of wedding proposals also happened: Warrick proposed to Aviva to be his wife, Farewell officially proposed to Aneira, and finally, Amell proposed to Burke.

Because of this, everyone decided to hold their weddings on Saturday. It would be a day of celebration.

Two days before the wedding, the whole mansion had been transformed, and the mothers used that chance to make a rule:

The men and women would live in different quarters—the women at the right and the men at the left.

No man could stay or visit the women’s quarters, nor could they call or talk to each other, vice versa.

Even the poor quadruplets couldn’t see or stay with their mother. Only Iris could stay with Valencia.

A day before the wedding, a warm shower was prepared at the mansion where the mothers gave advice, and they shared heartfelt talks and moments.

Valencia was given an heirloom by Cora and Hazel and gifts from the other mothers and Lessie; Aneira and Aviva were also given gifts by each mother and Lessie.

Meanwhile, the group of men went out to celebrate the bachelor’s party filled with teasing, toasts, jokes, encouragements, fun plays, etc., Burke not forgetting to tease Maverick about how he called Valencia a substitute at the club just a few months ago.

As retaliation, Maverick tricked Burke until he ended up dead drunk.

Aneira suddenly extended her hand and picked up Valencia’s and Aviva's hands, shattering the calmness in the dressing room. She smiled at them through the mirror and whispered, “I’m so happy that we’re celebrating this beautiful day together. This is my dream life, sisters.”

Currently, they were all seated while the mothers applied makeup to them.

The wedding was about intimacy and simplicity, so everything was handled by the family, just as they wished.

Valencia’s makeup was handled by Hazel, Aviva’s by Raven, Aneira’s by Cora, and Lessie’s makeup was handled by Amabella.

A wide smile appeared on their faces, and the mothers paused so they could hug each other.

“Congratulations,” Lessie pronounced with a sincere smile. “I am so happy for you.”

Within an hour or half, the whole arrangement was done. The wedding would start at 12:00 p.m.

Valencia stood in front of the mirror and took in the beautiful view. Her long hair fell down her back, and she was wearing a flowy white lace dress embedded with pearls, gems, and stones, highlighting her curves and her slightly protruding stomach. Her face was radiant, her skin soft and smooth, and her eyes glistening with happiness. A smile unconsciously formed on her lips.

“You are so beautiful today, Valencia,” Hazel and Quist whispered. Tears pooled in Hazel’s eyes, and she quickly wiped them away before they could spill.

“I am so proud of you, of how far you’ve come. The only regret I had was not being with you, but all these days we’ve spent together are the most beautiful of my life,” they expressed.

“Your father and I have decided to spend a year in Country X.”

Valencia hugged them and placed a kiss on their cheeks. “Thank you, Mom. I just wish Mom Raquel were still alive. She would be so happy,” Valencia exclaimed, feeling a wave of sadness hit her.

“She’s such a hero,” they whispered silently.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open and the quadruplets barged in.

The boys were in white suits with roses tucked into their breast pockets, while Iris wore a pink princess gown with a flower crown on her head.

“Mom! Mom, you are so beautiful.” Their eyes lit up, and they exclaimed, hugging Valencia.

Valencia bent down and kissed their cheeks. “You look like princes and a princess,” she exclaimed also, causing them to giggle.

Quist extended his hand once the mothers and quadruplets were done with their talk. He said, “Shall we?”

In the garden, Maverick stood at the altar, his face filled with nervousness and joy. He wore a dark suit, his hair slicked back, making all color pale in sight.

Corbyn stood beside him, casting Maverick a cold glare, his expression grim. Damn, Maverick had tricked Corbyn with a bet—that he had cheated his way to win—last night during the bachelor’s party, which forced Corbyn to be his best man.

Upon seeing Corbyn’s dark gaze, Maverick’s mood relaxed slightly, turning better as he enjoyed someone else’s misery.

Corbyn gave him a piercing glare, his jaw clenching. “You’ll definitely pay for this.”

Maverick whistled nonchalantly. After all, he had already won. Not to mention that all his life they had always been at war, so what would he be afraid of? “Bring it on…”

Maverick’s words caught in his throat, and his heart skipped a beat when his eyes landed on the most beautiful woman he had ever met.

Valencia. She was so beautiful. So perfect. Tears welled in Maverick's eyes as several memories coursed through his mind. He was lucky. So lucky. He was the luckiest man alive.

The crowd all stood up, and music began to play as Valencia was led in by Quist, with the quadruplets escorting her and scattering petals before her.

Yet all Maverick heard was stillness, and all he saw was the beautiful woman walking toward him. It wasn't until the woman came to a stop that he snapped out of his trance.

“Oh my God, you are an angel fallen out of the sky. You are so beautiful,” Maverick whispered.

Valencia’s face flushed red, and she whispered in a shy tone, her heart skipping a beat. “You are more handsome than I ever dreamed of.”

Quist gently handed Valencia’s hand over to the stricken Maverick. “Take care of her,” he uttered in a firm voice.

Quist's eyes pooled with tears. He had just seen her, yet he was already handing her over to another man to take care of. He turned his back and pulled out his handkerchief to wipe the tears from his eyes.

Axel held his microphone and spoke the vows for them to repeat.

“You may now kiss the bride,” Axel pronounced when the vows were recited by the couple.

Maverick wrapped his hands around his woman's waist and drew her closer. “I’ll never let you go. From now on, in this lifetime and the next, you will always be my woman,” he proclaimed while brushing their noses together.

Valencia’s eyes softened, and she hooked her hands around his neck. “Even if you push me away, I’ll chase you and hook you with my love. I’ll let you fall over and over again,” she expressed softly.

“I love you.” Maverick captured her lips, both of them smiling into the kiss.

The quadruplets threw the final batch of flowers into the air and threw their hands in the air to catch some of the petals as they jumped. “Mom and Dad are finally married! Mom and Dad are married!”

Valencia and Maverick exchanged glances, chuckled in amusement, and hugged the quadruplets.

The wedding ceremony for the day had just begun.

At the end of the wedding, fireworks were lit in the sky, signifying a new beginning.
