Chapter 42 For The Good?
Chapter 42 For The Good?
"I don't know them; how could I go with them?" My cold words made the predominantly elderly villagers, most of whom were over forty, flinch.
Andrew laughed loudly. "Have you heard?"
"You must be brainwashing her." Anthony stepped forward angrily, directly challenging Andrew to fight him. But Collin held back his hand.
"You've heard directly from Matilda. If she doesn't want to, don't force her to come. She said she doesn't know all of you." Andrew smirked dismissively, while Anthony was already at the end of his patience. Anthony thought Andrew did something to me that made me forget about them.
"Come on. One-on-one, if you dare. Stop hurting your wife; stop driving her crazy!" Anthony's outburst was so loud, I'm sure his voice could be heard everyplace.
"So you want to test me?" Andrew laughed, dismissing an Anthony who had once defeated the mafia boss.
Andrew stretched his hands, neck, and legs before getting up and approaching Anthony. Even so, I'm not worried; Anthony will definitely win because he's experienced. If Andrew? He's only good at business.
Collin didn't stop Anthony anymore, and by the time Andrew reached him, he had already attacked first with a punch.
However, everything was unexpected, as Anthony's review could even be easily intercepted by Andrew's right-hand man. Everyone gasped, and I was just as surprised, but I hid it all with my cold expression.
Andrew immediately twisted Anthony's arm behind him. Anthony tried to fight back with his agility, but all his movements didn't even manage to scratch Andrew. This is another side of Andrew that I know. I never thought Andrew was good at martial arts; all this time he was just busy with his office work and flirting on social media. I didn't know he was so good at fighting.
And everything was unexpected; Anthony was hit several times. No one dared to help him because of the first agreement Anthony himself stated, which was that they had to fight one-on-one. If Collin or someone else helps, then Anthony will be considered cheating.
Anthony was already battered and bruised, and Collin could only pull him back even though Anthony thought he could still fight Andrew.
"That's enough! We have to go!" Collin tried to calm Anthony, who was still consumed by emotion.
"No! That man must be hurting Matilda again; look at how Matilda can say she doesn't recognize us." I'm sure my words will hurt Anthony and the others, and they'll think Andrew has done something to me.
Anthony tried to get up again and approach Andrew, but with full force, Collin held him back.
"Enough, Anthony!" Collin slapped Anthony's chest hard. At that moment, Anthony regained consciousness and was overcome by his emotions.
After Anthony calmed down, Collin looked at me and said, "Let's go. Everything Matilda said was something she did consciously. It was all her own desire, without any coercion from the man." And Collin's psychological abilities always successfully guess someone.
Anthony stared at Collin, trying to get an explanation, but Collin again ordered him to leave and explain everything at home.
After that, we watched the villagers leave; they left empty-handed, only returning with wounds all over their bodies and hurt feelings from my words. I cursed myself silently, and after they were truly gone, I decided to go back to my room.
In the room, I threw all the items near me, venting all my emotions on the things there until my room was a mess. I really wanted to scream, but I was worried Lucy would hear me and think I was weak. To numb all my pain and disappointment, I hurt myself.
I struck my own body blow after blow, but I did it without making a sound at all. A few moments later, Andrew suddenly entered my room. Making me stop all my actions, turn away my face, and not want to see Andrew.
"What are you doing?" I didn't answer, realizing it was Andrew. He sighed and picked up my scattered belongings, putting them back in their original places until my room was clean again.
Andrew sat beside me; we were silent for a moment before Andrew finally spoke again, "Thank you for choosing me." I clicked my tongue inwardly; I wasn't doing this because I chose him, but because I wanted a peaceful life for the villagers and also for Collin.
"Is this a sign that my wife has accepted me back?" Andrew's hand touched my shoulder sensually. I clenched my hand without his knowledge, trying to restrain myself from turning around and fighting him.
However, Andrew's hands were becoming bolder; I don't know when he started pressing against my back, and he began to touch my sensitive areas. I'm really holding myself back from fighting back, and I've also promised not to rebel against him. But I didn't expect him to do this.
This time his hand was on my thigh, stroking it all the way up until my skirt was pulled up too. And when his hand reached my core, I got up from where I was.
Andrew is my husband; our divorce hasn't been finalized yet. But we haven't gotten along for too long, and this feels different. I don't know why, but I feel violated, and I don't want to do that with him again.
"Why?" Andrew's eyes were already filled with lust.
"I, I'm not feeling well. Could you give me some time alone?" Andrew looked disappointed, but it seemed he didn't suspect that I didn't want him.
"I've been waiting for a long time; should I wait again?" That's right, Andrew has been patient lately. The Andrew who usually did things forcefully, rudely, and passionately without my prior consent has disappeared. Andrew is much gentler, and Andrew is better at controlling his emotions, but the feelings of being hurt for years have now made me numb.
Andrew, I might have to tell you that I don't want you anymore.
"Yes, I was sitting on the balcony during the rain. Maybe this is the effect of that." Hearing my statement made Andrew roughly rub his face.
"Is it because you met that Collin earlier and you're feeling uncomfortable now?" I immediately shook my head, worried Andrew would get angry.
"Right, it's better not to do it than to have to do it, but you're imagining Collin doing it to you." Andrew got up and listlessly walked out of my room just like that.
I slumped to the floor. I couldn't even imagine it. I didn't even know clearly where my feelings were headed right now. I just want to run away from everything.
What happened just now is still fresh in my memory—that I hurt everyone's feelings and was forced to pretend not to know them. I'm sure they've given up on me by now. I'm sure they're starting to hate this shameless person now.
