Chapter 31 Lucy Is Staying With Us.

Chapter 31 Lucy Is Staying With Us.
From her facial expression, I knew Lucy was surprised, angry, and jealous all at once. However, she suddenly bowed her head as a sign of respect to us. Andrew rushed to fix our position; he moved away as if he were protecting a heart from getting hurt.
"How did you know I was here?" Andrew asked.
"Gerry told me. But I didn't know that Mrs. Matilda was here," Lucy said, her voice trembling slightly.
"Lift your head, greet Matilda. As you can see, she's still alive. Didn't I tell you I'd find her?" Andrew's words made Lucy raise her head. She approached me and extended her hand with a smile, a false and cunning smile. However, I still shook her hand.
"You're Lucy, right? You must be quite surprised that I'm still alive." I returned the smile with equal cunning. As if with my current abilities, I could break Lucy's neck if she dared to mess with me again.
"Yes. It's nice to see you, ma'am. No wonder Andrew loves you so much; just as he always says, you're truly beautiful." The expression sounded completely genuine and full of jealousy, and I sensed that she was heartbroken because of unrequited love.
"Oh, you're beautiful too, Lucy. Actually, I've heard quite a bit about you. And regarding Sarah Olsen's claims, I hope the truth will come out. If not, I dare you to come to the witness hearing and reveal what you're really like." Lucy's smile disappeared; she looked disturbed by my words, as evidenced by her strong grip on my hand.
"Oh, what's wrong, Lucy? Why are you gripping my hand so tightly?" I yelled a little as I pulled my hand away from her. I did everything on purpose so Andrew could open his eyes and realize how dangerous Lucy is. Lucy looked flustered, staring at Andrew, trying to get protection and defense.
But this time Andrew was on my side; he pulled me back, and we returned to the dinner menu. We had our dinner again, and what surprised me was that Andrew completely ignored Lucy's presence.
"I'll wait in your workroom," Lucy said, and Andrew just agreed without turning to look at her.Lucy strode away while I was still standing there silently trying to figure out the situation. While at the hospital, I saw their very intimate closeness, which made me think they had a special relationship.
However, today Andrew made me guess that Lucy had unrequited love for Andrew. But even if Andrew wasn't cheating on me with Lucy, Andrew was really torturing me yesterday. Our marriage would still be poison even if Lucy wasn't around. What's wrong with me is Andrew's personality, his attitude, and his temperamental nature. Then we forgive each other again and hug again, and then the abuse comes back and is forgiven again, and we hug again like crazy people.
I'm fed up; I don't want to be treated like that anymore. Like now, I'm going to create a new Matilda character, who is completely untouched. But for that, I have to be patient first, at least until Andrew is willing to let Collin go. Only then could I get everything out, get back at him for all he did to me before, and leave satisfied.
"I'm done. All day I helped the villagers rebuild their homes that were burned down by your men. Now I'm tired; can I go rest quickly?" Andrew seemed to scrutinize my gaze, trying to find a lie. But I am quite tired; I'm not lying when I say I'm helping the villagers.
"Alright, you can go back to your room." Andrew gave up; he let me leave the dining table first. Meanwhile, outside I didn't really go to my room but rather looked for a place to hide. And my hiding place was quite strategic, close to Andrew's workroom, and facing the dining room.
From here, I can see where Andrew is going, and if he comes to the room to see Lucy, I'll still be able to hear their conversation from here.
I waited quite a while until Andrew finally came out of the dining room. Is he stalling for time to meet Lucy? Andrew has never eaten for a long time or in large quantities. Or perhaps he's having a sudden meeting with his men? It doesn't seem possible either. This house has so many rooms; why would they have a meeting in the dining room? And the only possibility is that he wanted to avoid Lucy.
What's really wrong with them? Their intimacy, as well as Andrew's unwavering belief that Lucy was not an evil or cunning person. Could it be because Andrew already knew all of Lucy's corruption? Why is their behavior so strange and suspicious?
At that moment, Andrew strode off to his workroom. Seeing that, I rushed to press my ear against the wall.
"Why did Matilda suddenly show up? No, I mean, so she's still alive all this time?" Lucy was still questioning my existence.
"As you can see, she's healthy and safe," Andrew said curtly.
"Isn't that Matilda's surrogate?" Lucy asked again.
"Of course not. It's the real Matilda. And from now on, I will live here with Matilda, far from the media, and I won't let the world know that my wife is still alive," Andrew said.
"So what about all of Sarah Olsen's unfinished demands?" Lucy's voice sounded worried.
"I've hired the best lawyer. With or without me, you will be free from Sarah's demands."
"But I can't live without you. Let me stay here with you." Suddenly, Lucy wants to live with us. I don't know what her plan is this time.
"Alright, you can stay here with us." And what's disappointing is how Andrew agreed with Lucy's statement without thinking twice.
"Thank you, Andrew. I knew you'd never leave me alone.
"I'll ask a maid to show you to your room," Andrew said.
When I felt their conversation was coming to an end, I hurried away. By secretly following the direction Collin went yesterday. As far as I remember, Collin was taken this way. I hope I can find the detention room and meet Collin, even if it's just for a moment.
I walked quickly but silently and stealthily. I also hid when Andrew's henchmen passed in front of me. It seems I'm heading in the right direction toward the detention cells, as some of the crew are kept here to guard.
Just as I was about to step forward again, someone suddenly grabbed my hand.
"Where are you going, Mrs. Matilda? Are you lost? You must be looking for your room, but this is the detention area."
"That's Lucy," she told me gently, but her grip and sharp gaze showed her displeasure at seeing me here.
"Ah, yes. I'm lost. I forgot where my room is again," I said spontaneously.
"You should have asked the maid," Lucy said.
"Of course, I'll go back to the front and ask the maid. Now please release your grip on my hand; I am the ma'am here." I stared intently into Lucy's eyes until she realized on her own who I am and who she is.
