Chapter 50 Good Figure, Nice Feel

Chapter 50 Good Figure, Nice Feel

Elara took a whole week off to rest.

During this time, she also managed to get her new house in order.

The place was pretty spacious, nearly 1,500 square feet, with three large bedrooms.

Sylvia was envious and immediately claimed one of the rooms for herself, declaring it off-limits to anyone else.

Elara agreed without hesitation, and Sylvia childishly wrote her name on a whiteboard and hung it on the door.

Elara went back to the hospital for a follow-up.

The bone fracture was healing well, but the occasional ache in her arm persisted.

Her job in artifact restoration required a steady hand, especially when working on delicate tasks like restoring ancient paintings.

Any instability or weakness in her arm would be problematic.

Once she felt no pain, she messaged Kieran to let him know she would be back to work on Monday.

Kieran took a while to respond, clearly busy: [Take your time, no rush. Your salary will still be paid.]

Elara didn't reply.

She believed in working for her pay, and she was ready to get back to it.

Seraphina had messaged several times, asking why Elara hadn't returned yet, joking about finding a new boss, and threatening to come supervise her.

Of course, she wouldn't come over because she was self-conscious about the injury on her forehead and stayed home.

On Monday, Elara woke up early.

She made a box of sandwiches, which Seraphina loved.

She also made a small box of desserts for Kieran, using natural sugar and keeping it lightly sweet.

It was a token of appreciation for letting her stay at the house.

She packed everything in new lunch boxes and brought a small gift bag with a red hat for Seraphina to cover her forehead.

When she arrived at the Blackwood family estate, it was around 8 AM.

Jarvis opened the door, exchanged pleasantries, and asked about her recovery.

He mentioned that Seraphina was still asleep.

Elara placed the lunch boxes in the workspace and noticed Seraphina's door was open.

She decided to sneak in and surprise her.

As she approached the bed, Seraphina, in her pink pajamas, glanced at Elara like she was a child. "You're too old for this. Is it fun?"

But the joy in her eyes was unmistakable.

They had missed each other over the week.

Elara, unlike Seraphina, didn't pretend to be serious.

She giggled and pinched Seraphina's cheek. "I missed you, my dear student!"

"Don't try to butter me up. Kieran pays you, not me. Sucking up to me won't help," Seraphina said, pulling the blanket closer and shifting away.

"Let me see your forehead," Elara said, leaning in to check the injury.

Seraphina didn't resist but pouted. "It's still there after a week. It's ugly. How will I face people?"

"It's healing well. Jarvis said Mr. Blackwood got some special medicine from abroad for you. It'll heal quickly," Elara reassured her, recalling Kieran's clumsy attempt to clean the wound.

It was touching and amusing how much he cared for Seraphina.

Seraphina eyed Elara suspiciously. "Did you bribe Jarvis? When are you planning to win over Kieran? Don't worry, I'll support you."

Elara laughed. "Thanks, but get up. It's late."

Seraphina yawned. "I'm sleepy. Tell me a story, and I'll get up."

Elara replied, "My stories are bedtime stories."

Seraphina tilted her head. "Then sing me a song."

Elara said, "I can't sing."

"That's okay. Just sing anything. I don't expect you to sing pop songs."

Elara started singing.

"Stop! Your voice is quite unpleasant." Seraphina teased, covering her ears.

"I told you I can't sing," Elara shrugged, admitting it.

"Fine, dance then. You must know a few moves from attending events, right?"

Two minutes later.

"Okay, okay, you can stop now. Are you doing aerobics? No, your moves look like a zombie apocalypse. I'll go shower and then we'll start working!"

Seraphina quickly got out of bed and rushed to the bathroom.

"I brought you breakfast. Eat after you shower."

"Got it!"

Elara couldn't help but smile.

The trio never went to karaoke because, according to Sylvia, Elara's singing could break soundproof walls and make the owner pay to get her to leave.

Elara received a text from Seraphina: [Can you grab me a change of clothes? Open the first closet and pick any T-shirt. Your singing and dancing were so shocking, I forgot to take them.]

Elara chuckled, opened the closet, and grabbed a T-shirt along with the hat she bought for Seraphina.

The Blackwood estate had several bathrooms, but Elara had only been to two.

She guessed Seraphina would use the nearest one.

Sure enough, she heard the sound of running water.

"I'll leave the clothes here," Elara said.

"If you leave them outside, I'll have to come out and get them. What if I catch a cold? Just bring them in. We're both women, no big deal."

Elara agreed and entered the bathroom, which was filled with steam, making it hard to see.

"Where should I put them? The water's too hot for your skin," Elara said, carefully finding her way.

Suddenly, she touched something smooth, firm, yet soft and warm. It felt like a wall, but it wasn't.

"I like hot showers in the morning."

It was Kieran!

Elara panicked, quickly turned to leave, and bumped into the door.

Feeling incredibly awkward, she rubbed her head and nervously laughed, "What a coincidence, Mr. Blackwood... you have a nice physique, good to the touch!"

'Oh! My! God! What am I saying?!' Elara thought after saying.
