Chapter 82 Cheater
Chapter 82 Cheater
My eyes open to the sight of the bright room, causing pain in my eyes. From what it looks like, the sun has risen. Different from what I expected for today, there's not a single grey cloud outside. On the contrary, the sky is a brighter blue than yesterday. It seems like today will be great to watch the sunset at the beach.
"Good morning."
Antonio is already awake next to me. With his phone now on the nightstand, he pulls me to him and gives me a quick, soft kiss on my forehead. Nuzzling into him, I smile at the sweet gesture. Why am I like this? Why do I like this so much? This giddiness inside of me... Where did it come from? Like, why am I so excited to wake up next to Antonio?
"How are you feeling now? Better?" Antonio asks.
"Better," I say.
With my arms above my head, I stretch my body for a few seconds. Gosh. My body feels so stiff and sore. And the headache. It's still there, but thankfully, it's not as bad as it was earlier. It's a good thing that I'm not nauseous anymore. The med works like a charm. It'll be a matter of hours until I go back to my usual anxious, but physically healthy self.
"Do you want your breakfast now? I'll get them now," Antonio says.
"You don't have to. I can walk just-"
Before I can get out of bed, Antonio pulls me back into him. Falling into his arms, everything feels as though they were spinning for a moment. Then the room stops turning, and my dizziness disappears again. I guess I'm not feeling completely fit just yet. Getting more rest will definitely be our agenda for the day. I wish I'd feel way better later in the afternoon, though. I really want to watch the sunset at the beach later.
"Nuh-uh. You shouldn't get out of bed yet. Stay here," Antonio says. He leaves the bed and then stares at me. At my clothes, to be exact. Well, I should definitely change. It's been long overdue.
"Do you want to get changed? I'll get your clothes for you," Antonio says.
"Yes. There's a set in the suitcase on the right. The white ones," I say.
Antonio searches through the suitcase. Not long after, he turns to me, holding up a folded white t-shirt with a matching pair of shorts. Oh, yes. I need them now. I just realised my boobs are awfully hurting from being in the bra for all night long. I need to take it off soon.
"This one?" Antonio asks.
"Yes."
Antonio brings the clothes and hands them to me. I mutter a "thanks", and he smiles at me in return. I can't wait to change. I'm itching to get out of this dress.
"Alright. I'll get changed, too. And get your breakfast. I'll be back in fifteen," Antonio says.
"Okay."
Once Antonio is out of the room, I carefully get on my feet. I slip out of my dress and take off my bra. Standing with my eyes closed, I sigh in relief. I never thought having a bra on all night long would be such torture. Thank goodness I'm finally out of it now. The relief is wonderful.
I throw the bra onto the bed and put on the shorts. My eyes shoot straight at the doorway. My scream is stuck in my throat as my gaze is fixed on Dante, who's standing in the doorway with his eyes wide. I quickly cover my chest with my arms, and he shuts the door again.
Fuck. Why didn't he fucking knock first? I could've been completely naked! It was a good thing I'm only topless. Well, he would see me like that anyway in the future because I'll probably have sex with him in the future, but not now! Yeah. No. Fuck. Shit. Damn it, Dante. Why did you do that?
A couple of knocks on the door snap me out of my trance. I quickly put on my t-shirt and put away the bra and the dress. I then sit down on the bed and wait for Dante to walk into the room. Dante should've knocked earlier. Not after he barged into the room while I was half-naked. It's better late than never, I guess.
"Can I come in?" Dante asks.
"Yeah. Come in," I say.
Dante opens the door, and he seems guilty after what happened earlier. He gives me an apologetic smile as he walks towards me. The way he looks with his messy hair makes me let out a quiet sigh. He looks too damn good. Why do guys look hotter with messy hair, but not me? I probably have messy hair now, looking like a bird nest after last night. I definitely look like someone with mental issues right now. Well, I do have mental issues, but that's not the point. You know what I mean.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I should've knocked. I thought you were still asleep," Dante says.
Well, yeah. You should. Luckily for me, he didn't come here earlier when I was still in bed with Antonio. That would be pretty embarrassing. I don't want him to see me with Antonio like that. It just doesn't sound right.
There it is again. That terrible feeling. I swear this whole fucking thing makes me feel like a fucking cheater. Even though Dante knows I did what I did with Antonio for my family's sake and how I like Antonio in the way I'm not supposed to, it still feels awful. It's like I'm playing with him or something like that.
"How are you feeling?" Dante asks.
"Better than last night. I threw up a bit earlier, but I'm fine now," I say.
"Okay. Good," Dante says, nodding in understanding. His eyebrows then knit together as his gaze lands on the nightstand. What's up now? Is there something wrong? Why is he staring at the nightstand like that?
"I didn't see this one last night," Dante says, taking one of the medicine bottles. He scrutinises it, reading every word printed on the bottle. Seems like he's worried Antonio drugged me or something while he's not watching. Well, thank god he didn't. Or so I thought. I mean, I just took one of those earlier, and I'm fine now.
"That one's for the dizziness and the nausea," I say.
"How did you feel after taking this?" Dante says, still holding onto the bottle.
Yeah. It's clear he's worried it's a bad drug. Now I'm kinda worried. Even though I feel so much better than before I took it, the way Dante's staring at the medicine is alarming. Could Antonio try to drug me? Did he drug me last night while I was blacked out?
"Better. I'm still a bit dizzy, but the nausea has gone away," I say.
"Okay. Alright," Dante says, shrugging a little. His face suddenly turns dark and gloomy after he puts down the bottle. Sitting next to me, he stares at me with concern evident in his gaze.
"What's going on? You can tell me anything," Dante says.
I know damn well I can tell him about almost anything now that everything about me is pretty much out in the open for him. However, I'm not sure I can tell him everything now that my feelings for Antonio are growing stronger despite the danger he brings. But, well, it's Dante. I should tell him everything. I know he'll understand. He always does.
"I'll tell you everything when we're back. Not now," I say.
I can't risk saying everything now. Antonio will be suspicious of Dante and me if we talk to each other for too long. I'll save everything for when we're back home. Even we, sitting together like this alone, could make Antonio suspicious. Dante should leave right now.
"It's not because of Antonio, is it?" Dante asks.
It's definitely because of Antonio. He's been occupying most of the space in my head. And Dante too. I feel like the three of us are caught up in a stupid love triangle. And it's so fucking dumb. I shouldn't have done this with Antonio. I mean, getting into a fake relationship with him. I should've never got caught up with him and this dumb secret rivalry.
"Kinda. But not in the way you're probably thinking. I- there have been so many things going on in our lives lately, and I'm just so tired of fucking thinking. I got myself drunk last night just so all that could stop for a moment. I'm sorry for worrying all of you. I didn't mean that to happen," I say.
"No, no. It's okay. I'm glad you're fine now," Dante says.
"Same," I sigh.
"Alright. I'll leave you now. You better tell me about everything once we're back home," Dante says.
"I will."
Dante finally leaves my room. I lie back down on the bed and then hear Antonio talking in the hallway. Sounds like he's meeting Dante in the hallway.
"Dante. Breakfast is ready if you want to eat now," Antonio says in the hallway.
"Alright. Thank you," Dante says.
I keep staring at the door, waiting for Antonio, and he finally comes into my view. With a wide smile and a tray of breakfast in his hands, he walks into the room. He's now wearing a casual outfit of shorts and a t-shirt, also looking a bit refreshed. He's probably washed his face or taken a quick shower earlier. I can smell the mint body wash on him.
"Breakfast's here."
