"You have no right to let anyone who is not me, especially another man, to touch you," Vyrelen said, his tone firm as he locked eyes with Dika. Then, without warning, he reached for a handful of white roses from the garden and turned back to her.

Dika frowned, eyeing the flowers in his hands suspiciously. "What are you doing?"

Vyrelen lifted the roses slightly. "I want to put them in your hair since that's what you wanted."

Dika scoffed, stepping back as he reached for her cornrows.

"So you can allow someone else to touch your hair, but not me?"

"Exactly."

"You’re something else," Vyrelen muttered.

Dika huffed, crossing her arms. "I was enjoying the view before you came out of nowhere and ruined it for me. So thank you very much, Mr. Poking-Nose. Thank you for chasing away that harmless guard away." She shoved at his chest with all her strength, but to her frustration, he didn’t even budge.

Vyrelen merely smirked.

Dika glared. "I told you, you're free to chase after any lady of your choice, and the same goes for me. I am not some weak little princess you can boss around. In fact, I am stronger than you."

Vyrelen snorted at that, shaking his head. Then, without a word, he tossed the flowers aside, watching them scatter on the ground.

To Dika’s complete shock, Vyrelen carried her up into his arms with ease, as if she weighed nothing.

"What are you doing?!" she yelled, her brain still trying to process what was happening right now.

Vyrelen smirked, looking down at her. "What does it look like I’m doing, my angry goddess?" His tone was teasing, and there was a hint of satisfaction in his eyes. He was clearly enjoying this.

"Put me down this instant!" Dika yelled, thrashing in his hold, trying to wiggle free. His grip didn’t loosen. Not even a little.

So, she did the next best thing. She bit him in one of his arms. Hard.

Vyrelen only grinned. "Oh? That excites me." His voice dropped to a smug purr. "Aww, you really do know how to please me. Unfortunately for me, I have something important to report to Tharros. If not, I would have taken you up on your offer."

And with that, he started walking, not using his shadows, not teleporting them away. No. He wanted to carry her through the castle, in full view of everyone. He wanted them to see that Dika was his and his alone.

Dika gritted her teeth, growling as she rained punches against his chest, but it was like hitting a brick wall. He didn’t even flinch.

The Fae Kingdom: Oberon's Palace

King Oberon sat at the round table in his grand throne room, his quill gliding across the parchment with careful precision. His expression was unreadable, but his mind was sharp and calculating.

Once he finished writing, he folded the parchment neatly and pressed his royal seal onto it. Then, with two sharp claps of his hands, the heavy doors of his throne room door swung open, revealing his two royal messengers.

They stepped forward, bowing before him. Without a word, he handed the parchment to one of them.

"Deliver this to the Emperor," Oberon commanded. "Make sure it reaches his hands today."

The messengers exchanged a brief glance, nodded in understanding, and without hesitation, turned on their heels and swiftly left the throne room.

Oberon leaned back in his chair, a slow smirk creeping onto his lips.

Now, all he had to do was wait.

Soon enough, Tharros would take the bait.

And when that happened, Nyxoria would finally be his.

Tharros Castle:

Tharros and Nyxoria sat in the same courtyard where she had been sparring with Dika earlier. He had ordered one of the guards to bring them chairs, and now they sat facing each other, the sun casting a soft glow over the castle grounds.

"Do you like the castle?" Tharros asked, watching her closely. "If there's anything you don’t like please say it, I can change it."

Nyxoria smiled. "With what I’ve seen so far, I love it here, Tharros."

His lips curved into a pleased smile. It made him oddly happy to hear that she approved of his castle.

"Is your uncle treating you well?" he asked after a brief pause. "I mean…is he kind to you?"

Nyxoria nodded without hesitation. "Of course, he is," she said, but then her expression changed to a sad one. "He’s been there for me since the day my parents died. Even when those foolish elders wanted to kill me, he stood up for me. He protected me. So yes, he is kind. Why do you ask?

Tharros shrugged. "I just wanted to be sure," he said. "I heard you gave up your throne to him willingly. Is that true, right?"

"Yes," she confirmed. "He didn’t force me. I needed answers, and ruling a kingdom wasn’t my priority yet. But don’t worry, once I have my answers, I will be taking my throne back."

Tharros nodded in understanding.

"So tell me about yourself," Nyxoria said, tilting her head. "Your parents…and how you became Emperor at such a young age."

Tharros leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. "I don’t have much to say," he said simply. "But I hate my father. And I killed him."

Nyxoria’s eyes widened at his blunt confession.

"You killed your father?" she repeated in shock.

"He was a bad man, Ria," Tharros said, his voice calm, as if it was just another fact of life. "The world would have been better if I had gotten rid of him sooner."

"You killed the former Emperor?" Nyxoria asked, still trying to process it. "How? What bad things did he do?"

"There are some things better left unsaid, Ria," he replied, his tone suddenly distant. "Just know that I removed an evil man from this world."

Nyxoria swallowed, trying to read his expression. "And your mother?" she asked carefully. "Did you kill her too?"

Tharros hesitated for a moment before answering.

"My mother is..." He trailed off, his jaw tightening. "...Not dead."
