Vyrelen shrugged as he stood up to his feet and handed the bowl to Dika. "I did that so you wouldn’t have to stress yourself and still got no thanks for it," he muttered.

Dika took the bowl and started eating without looking at him. "I didn’t ask you to. My legs work just fine."

Vyrelen opened his mouth to argue, but before he could, a sharp cough interrupted the conversation.

All eyes turned to Nyxoria as she coughed and tried to sit up.

Tharros was worried as he tried to balance Nyxoria on the bed and rubbed her back in gentle circles to stop the cough.

"Why is she coughing, Priestess?" His voice was tense.

Daisy sighed and wiped an imaginary sweat from her brow. "So you’ve never coughed before in your entire life, Emperor?"

Tharros glared but stayed silent, watching as Nyxoria took deep breaths. Slowly, her coughing subsided, and she blinked as if adjusting to her surroundings.

Nyxoria cleared her throat and looked at Daisy.

Daisy leaned closer. "Can you hear me now, child?"

"I can hear you." Nyxoria pretended as her eyes grew wide in surprise when she could now reply back and can hear. "I can talk too." She smiled, throwing her hands up in the air. "Thank you, High Priestess."

"It was my pleasure," Daisy said with a small nod. "Since you're better now, I should take my leave. I still have herbs to gather."

Tharros stood up from the bed. "Thank you for healing my bride." he thanked.

"It's nothing, Emperor."

"What reward do you want for healing her?" Tharros asked.

Daisy smiled. "Nothing, just keep her happy."

Tharros gave a firm nod. "I will."

Daisy turned to Nyxoria. "Make sure you visit me soon."

"I will," Nyxoria promised.

With that, Daisy, Tharros, and Vyrelen left, They were escorting the priestess to the castle gates.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Dika turned to Nyxoria, smirking. "You pulled that off so well, even I almost believed it." Both girls laughed.

Nyxoria grinned. "Right? I was worried for a moment that you wouldn’t come. You’ve never missed a day at the Arcane before."

Dika scoffed. "You are my very good friend Nyxoria, so sacrificing one day of not going to the Arcane for you is worth it."

Nyxoria’s eyes sparkled mischievously as she dragged out her words. "Sooooooo… what’s going on between you and Tharros’ messenger?"

Dika choked on her soup. "What?"

"Don't try to deny it," Nyxoria said, her eyes narrowing with amusement. "There’s something going on between you two. I thought you didn’t even know him before?" She didn't want to tell Dika what she heard from Tharros and Vyrelen the previous evening, she was waiting for Dika to say it out first.

Dika let out a heavy sigh. "You remember how I told you I kissed him to win the bet?"

Nyxoria nodded her head, waiting for her to continue.

"Well, he appeared out of nowhere in our dinning room where my mother is and told her about their stupid tradition kiss and now he is saying I am his wife, the kiss is just like you werewolves thing, having your fated mate once you reach a certain age, that's how the kiss is in the Nightweavers tradition is. I am fucked up Nyxoria."

"No you are not fucked up but, wow. A fated soulmate of your own."

"Yeah, wow."

Nyxoria smirked. "I actually overheard them talking about it yesterday after you left," she confessed. "I didn’t know he was serious enough to go meet your mother and tell her."

Dika groaned. "I was so shocked yesterday evening when he appeared and opened his mouth to speak his rubbish and after that, I lost my appetite." She finished the last of her meat broth and set the empty bowl on the tray. "Thanks for this, Nyxoria."

"Don't mention Dika, I know you didn't eat anything before coming here."

Dika gave her a small smile.

Nyxoria wiggled her brows. "So… do you like him?"

Dika scoffed. "I don’t know, but he’s very annoying and has no boundaries. He kissed me again when we were outside."

"You liked it?"

Dika shrugged. "Can't really say."

"Why don't you give it a try, I mean kiss him like you really mean it and see if you like it, yesterday own was rushed."

Dika gave her an incredulous look. "Not me. I’m not kissing him again before he brings up another stupid tradition."

Nyxoria burst into laughter. "Well, I haven’t kissed Tharros yet, but I intend to do so soon."

Dika smirked. "At least he actually likes you with the way he has been staring at you. Do you like him too?"

Nyxoria nodded. "Yes, every part of my body does, plus we have met before when we were little."

Dika’s eyes widened. "Wait, really?"

"Yes, but I don't remember and that was why he was angry with me the first day we met at the Arcane."

"Wow, all your memories that you had before your parents death are gone, too sad."

Nyxoria nodded her head. "True, but Daisy had finally come up with a solution of making me remember all my forgotten memories. I will remember Tharros soon and remember what had actually happened to my parents that night, something in me makes me believe I witnessed their murder."
