Chapter 131 – Full of Rage
Jacob flipped over a piece of office furniture when he heard that someone had abducted his Cassidy. His wolf howled with fury as the rage inside him boiled. He clenched his hands into fists and was ready to take on the world to get his mate back.
“Jacob, we know you’re upset, but throwing around furniture isn’t going to help us figure out who took her.”
Jacob stopped when a name came to mind. He looked over at his friend, “Isn’t it obvious?” he growled out. “Adrian took her; I know he did.”
He continued to search around the room, hoping to find something they might have missed. He was going crazy not knowing where she was or if she was safe. There was only one way to find out.
He turned and stalked toward the elevator and pressed the down arrow. More than anything, he wanted to punch the wall to release some of the anger that was sitting inside him, but he was afraid he would break the elevator.
“Jacob, you need to think with a clear head on this. Going on to their guns a blazing with no plan is a suicide mission,” Raymond warned.
Jacob tilted his head back and stared at the ceiling. “What would you rather have me do?”
Raymond could hear the pain in his Alpha’s voice.
He couldn’t empathize with what he was going through; none of them could. Raymond sighed but couldn’t give him any other options; he was feeling guilty cause his thoughts kept going back to the sassy blonde upstairs, whom he hadn’t told anyone yet that she was his mate. He didn’t want to think about that when his Alpha was going through hell trying to find his girl at that very moment.
Raymond turned to look at Gavin for any kind of help.
Gavin pulled Natalie in close to him and thanked the goddess that this wasn’t happening to him. He was blessed with a second chance at love and was grateful for finding his sexy auburn-haired girl and the sassy little bun she always wore her hair in. He couldn’t get over how well they connected and was happy they didn’t have to deal with a lot of drama. He turned and looked over at Raymond with a sullen face and shrugged, not knowing what kind of advice to offer him.
The elevator door opened, and before he stepped in, he said to them, “I didn’t think so,” because none of them could offer him any advice on how to handle this. Raymond rushed into the moving box right after Jacob, making sure he didn’t do something reckless.

The door burst open, and Jacob came storming through the office that Adrian had used when he was doing business in the city.
Adrian smirked as he sat at his desk and enjoyed the view he was getting. “To what do I owe this pleasure of you visiting me?” he asked with a cruel smile on his face.
Jacob slammed his fists down on the desk and snarled, “Where is she?”
Adrian looked up at him with a pointed brow. “Where is who?”
“Cassidy, I know you took her.” Jacob accused.
Adrian had learned quickly in business not to have a tell.
“I don’t have any idea what you are talking about,” he told the angry wolf standing before him. “I gave you a week, and I always make good on my promises. Has something happened to my possession?”
Jacob was having a hard time controlling his temper and his wolf at the same time. “She was taken from my building. Who else would have reason to take her but you,” he blamed.
Adrian was beginning to lose his patience and was growing tired of the merry-go-round of accusations. “Again, I was not the one who took her, and if anything, I should be just as angry as you are because she is mine, after all.” He smiled deviously.
Jacob’s chest rumbled as a large growl came out from him. “She’s not yours.”
Adrian’s eyes lit up as realization hit him. “She’s your mate.”
Jacob froze as his eyes widened. He didn’t think this all the way through coming here and showing his weakness to his mortal enemy.
“This has just become more enticing by the minute,” Adrian exclaimed as three of his guards came through the door. “I told you I didn’t have her, so grow run off and be someone’s problem. I have business to attend to, and you better find her before the week is up, or I will attack your entire pack and leave nothing behind,” he threatened.
Jacob glared at the silver-eyed man who was messing with him behind the desk. “This isn’t over,” he sneered before walking out the door.
Adrian continued to smile devilishly until they were out of sight. He dropped the grin quickly, and a scowl took its place. He picked up his phone and pressed on his speed dial.
“Get the car ready; it looks like we need to make a little trip to an associate of ours and see what they have been up to behind our backs,” Adrian explained before ending the call.
