Chapter Thirty-three: New Arrival

I must've needed sleep. I wake up and look around. So much for vampires not sleeping, Vincent and Eric are both still asleep. Sam isn't and he's not in the cabin that I can tell. I get up and brush my teeth and hair. I look in the mirror. I don't look outwardly different but something is. I just feel it. What's going on? I need coffee and I need to talk with

Adele so I get dressed.

I put on a blue flowy Bohemian-style dress and a pair of strappy sandals. I want to be comfortable and I am not here to win any beauty contests. I feel as though I have already won the greatest prize, my mates.

I head for the kitchen where I see Sam, “You want some help?” I ask.

He looks up and when he sees me his eyes just sparkle, “I was going to bring you breakfast in bed.”

His eyes rove my body like an artist studying his canvas. I blush, “No, none of that until I have had coffee.”

His eyes darken, “We have time for a quick run.”

“Oh no, mountain man. It's too early. What time is it anyway?” I ask.

He shakes his head, “It's 8:30.”

“Yeah, I so shouldn't be awake,” I sigh.

He chuckles, “You're not a vampire and you're in a place full of wolves. We don't sleep all day, Eva.”

I snap at him, “You know you can be a real ass sometimes.”

Then I hear a voice I don't know enter. It comes from a well-built tattooed man with a short dirty blonde beard and hair. “He’s always an ass,” the man says.

Sam turns to the guy, “Dalton, late to the party as always.”

He smirks, “I had more important business than your little obstacle course.”

I lean against Sam as I glare at Dalton, “Yeah leading on a poor vapid blonde was more important than supporting your pack.” Dalton stares at me so I continue, “Was Emily worth it?”

Sam chuckles as he kisses the top of my head.

Dean came in at that exact moment, “Emily who? Dalton you were supposed to…”

I finished it for him, “Be finding that rogue wolf? Yeah no. But I can for ya after I deal with Victor.”

Dalton looked confused as he sniffed, “You’re human! How?”

“Dalton you have no clue who you're talking to do you?” Dean asks him as I just giggle.

“Love eat first please,” Sam says as he sits a plate in front of me.

“You think that I'm going to need it, don't you?” I ask Sam.

He grins, “I know you and yes you will.”

I give him a quick kiss and sip my coffee while eating a few strips of bacon. However, Dalton just can't keep his mouth shut.

“Since when do you bring human girls to the pack house? I know there's another

one here too,” Dalton says.

First, I don't like how he's questioning his Alpha. Next, I can't stand his tone toward human women. And lastly, I will kill him before he touches Katie. There's just a feel to him that I don't like. There's a shadow of darkness. I wonder if it is his past or who he associates with.

I tell Dalton, “That's my friend and she's off-limits to you.” I am trying to be civil, but he's making it very difficult.

Dalton laughs, “No bitch tells us what to do.”

Now he has pissed me off. I compel him to kneel as I speak, “Oh but this bitch will and does!”

“What are you doing?” Dalton asks with a hint of worry.

“Teaching you a lesson. You see right now you simply can't do anything. You're utterly powerless and will answer to me and any whim I may have,” I tell him as I bite into a piece of bacon.

“Dean she can't do this,” he pleads.

Dean smirks, “Oh! But she can.”

Kim comes in and gives me a nod, “Pissed off our new Alpha and Luna. Good going, Dalton.”

I laugh, “Kim you need to train them

better. This one lied about why he didn't come yesterday.”

She looks from me to the guys, “Really?”

“Yes Sis. Turns out Eva here can read minds,” Dean tells her.

Simon raises his eyebrow as he asks me, “So other wolves too?”

I nod, “Looks that way, brother.”

It feels so good to say that. I have a large family now!

Dalton asks, “Since when are you a Fall?”

Sam replies, “Since the moment I met her.”

I said evilly, “Let's have some fun.”

“Eva!” Sam warns.

I wink, “Oh I'll be gentle, well sort of.”

Vincent rushes in to back Sam, “Eva!”

I look at him, “Vincent, not your fight.”

With complete disdain, Dalton asks, “Since when are bloodsuckers allowed inside the pack house?”

Vincent stands beside me, “Fine Eva I take that back. Have fun as long as I can

watch.”

I touch his chest as I cup his cheek, “I knew you'd see it my way.”

“Outside now!” I command as I escort Dalton out like he's a marionette and I'm the one pulling the strings.

A bit of fear creeps into Dalton’s voice, “What the hell is this!”

I grin, “Oh I can help you see hell if you like.”

I have visions of his misdeeds play in

his mind but make sure to attach the

feelings of his victims to him.

“What are you doing to him, Eva?” Dean asks.

I answer him, “Same as I did to Victor. He's reliving all the evil he's done. There's nothing close to the monstrosities that Victor committed so don't worry. But he has wronged plenty of women. He's either going to right his behavior or I will force him to.”

Vincent laughs. Eric tries to hold in his amusement. Sam just whistles and shakes his head smirking.

Katie comes out holding her juice and a bagel, “What's going on? Why's everyone out here? Vincent and Eric, won't you explode or something?”

Eric walks over and explains it to

her. But she still has a question, “But if Eva is part vampire, why isn't the sun affecting her?”

Eric says, “She's not a vampire. We don't know.”

Gran corrects him, “Because she's the White Wolf Returned, gentlemen”

Dalton scoffs, “That’s pure legend.”

“Yet you just saw all of the pain you've caused,” I tell Dalton.

He rolls his eyes, “Like you haven't.”

That further pissed me off, “Wrong answer!”

My eyes glow and I feel power pulse through me I float, the sky darkens and the wind swirls as I land right beside Dalton. I shift into my half-wolf form As I raise him up by his neck.

I growl at Dalton, “Now answer this, who am I?”

Katie gasps, “Holy shit, she's never done

this before!”

Vincent smiles at me as he talks to her, “Beautiful, isn't it?”

Katie nods, “Yes.”

Dalton begrudgingly replies, “The Alpha.”

I bare my teeth, “Who's Alpha?”

“My Alpha,” he says.

I sit him down. The skies return to

their sun drenched beauty. I turn to

walk back to my men. But I feel Dalton lunge towards me as he's shifting. I spin and kick him across the face.

I spit at him, “Really, you're such a coward!”

He points with disgust, “You're a witch!”

I roll my eyes, “No, but I'm far better.”

I look to Gran and ask, “Gran what's the penalty for trying to attack a pack's

Alpha without authorization?”

She nods to me, “Depends. The Alpha decides in this case. Usually it's banishment. But you're not just the Alpha of our pack. You're our Luna too.”

Chris tries to reason with Dalton, “Dalton, I suggest you use what brain you have and realize who Eva is. It's no

legend. She's proof!”

Vincent adds, “Plus you've pissed off my

mate. That's reason enough for me to kill you.”

“Vincent!” I warn.

He cocks his head, “You can't blame me.”

I know that I can't so I roll my eyes which makes Vincent growl.

I roll my eyes again, “Later, Vincent!” I turn to Dalton, “I'll make you a deal Dalton. You win, you're free to go. You lose, you're the bitch boy of this pack for the duration of the haze.”

Chris asks, “Sis, can you do that?”

I smile sweetly as Vincent chuckles. I say, “Of course I can.”

Vincent is still laughing, “Oh I hope my brother pisses you off like this!”

Dalton agrees to my deal so I state the terms, “Wolf versus wolf until submission.”

Sam grabs my hand, “Eva!”

I know that he's concerned, but I feel empowered. “I'll be fine,” I say this because I know that I will be.

“Watch your back,” Sam warms.

I smile, “Oh I learned to after you

jumped on mine.”

He leans over and nibbles my ear, “It was fun and I plan on doing it again.”

I smack him, “You stop!”

Dalton flexes his muscles, “Fine, let’s do this.”

I shift into my full wolf form as I stretch.

Simon puts his hand on Sam’s shoulder, “Brother, you got lucky.”

Sam beams, “In many ways I did.”

That fuels me with so much pride. My mates are amazing and they truly value me. Dalton and I circle each other. He lunges as I dodge. I'm quicker and let's face it I have vampiric reflexes.

“I'll catch you,” Dalton says.

I grin, “Nah you'll collapse first. I can go for days.”

Vincent chuckles.

Sam asks him, “Something I should know?”

Vincent nods to me, “Night gives her strength man. She's a night owl, ask her later.”

Eric says, “She's getting more powerful because it seems that the sun aids her too.”

Vincent looks at the guys, “And she's becoming more dangerous.”

Sam asks, “Do you think that the haze has something to do with it?”

“Maybe, maybe not,” Vincent says.

I finally see my opening. I kick up dirt to blind Dalton. I slide under him and claw his groin. He yelps in pain.

I glare at Dalton, “Nod if you submit or I will just continue until you are a eunuch.”

I hear the men all groan as l laugh devilishly as a growl escapes me.

Dalton looks me in the eye as he shakily shifts back, “You win, Eva.”

I shift back to human form and

smooth out my dress and shake my

hair, “Tergeo.” Blood is cleansed from my hands and Dalton as well as off the

ground. “Crinus Muto,” I say as my hair and makeup are restored. I look like I never engaged in a fight.

“Gran, may we have a word with you?” I ask.

She grins, “Of course dearie.”

“Simon, Dalton is your bitch for the day,” I say.

Simon chuckled, “I'm so glad you only dumped a vase on me.”

I wink, “I did no such thing.”

Sam chuckles as he takes my hand, “Come on Snow White.”

I magic me a cup of coffee and a

piece of toast as we walk.

Vincent huffs, “Show off!”

“Jealous, much,” I tease.

“You two chill!” Gran commands.

Eric sighs, “Adele it does no good.”

We get into Gran's office and stand beside her desk.

“What is it dear?” she asks.

I say, “A couple of things. I'm aware you might not have the answer to but an opinion would help.”

She nods for me to continue, “Well as you saw I'm getting stronger and new abilities are surfacing. I woke up with an

odd feeling this morning.”

“What feeling?” she asks.

I explain, “Like something changed

inside me. Nothing bad but a change.”

“Perhaps you sensed Dalton's threats and your new ability emerged,” she says.

I shake my head, “No, I don't think so

I'm different when they're near.” I point to my mates, “I'm stronger and things happen.”

Vincent tells her, “There's something else,” as he shoots a small bolt of

electricity from his finger to explode

a potted plant in the room.

Eric says, “And this,” as he starts a fire in the fireplace by pointing his finger at it.

She thinks for a second, “Well you drank her blood. That could have something to

do with it.”

“Then explain this,” Sam says as he levitates himself, “I woke up floating.”

“Son, did you bite her?” she asks Sam.

He shrugs, “On our run, all mates do.”

“Should I even ask what you did last night?” Gran inquires.

We all look away as she laughs, “Oh! To be young!”

I sigh, “That leads to another

question. Watch Vincent's eyes.”

I go over to Vincent and make eye contact. I run my fingers through his hair and bite his neck. I press my body to his and kiss him. He goes to pull me closer. I look at his eyes. They're that swirling mystic topaz again. I step away, and he groans.

I point to Vincent, “See, Gran!”

She gets closer to Vincent, “It's mesmerizing.”

I tell her, “He's hazed.”

“I've never seen anything like it,” she says.

“Eva!” Vincent pleads.

I know that he's struggling but I need answers. “Try to fight it,” I tell him.

“Wolves can't, you know that,” Sam says.

Gran corrects him, “You can hold back but can't stop it.”

“Eva I'm trying but I'm not sure how long,” Vincent says.

Gran says, “Go we will ready things for

your departure I will try to learn what I can.”
