After Eva left us with our jaws on the floor, I gathered us in my studio to regroup. I ran my hand through my hair. “Katie, tell the others we are changing plans. There will still be a baby shower and weddings, but we need to move up the grand ceremony.”
She cocked her head. “Why?”
I sighed. “Because Eva is on a mission and she will break us. We might be gods, but she now possesses power far beyond ours.”
Sam chuckles. “I am surprised we have lasted this long. I could have sworn she picked up on me when I contacted the pack when we were all on the island.”
Bael nods. “It took a huge effort on our parts, Sam. Had I found her sooner…”
“No, it happened as it needed to. Just as everything has. It is all in the past. The lost won't be forgotten, but they too are in the past. What matters is the future and that future is growing inside of our future wife,” Eric said.
He is right. The future is what matters…Eva is what matters. “Alright, let’s aim to at least keep the weddings a secret. If we slip up, let it be about some detail about the baby shower or as a last resort, the grand ceremony.”
Vlad nods. “True. She already suspects the baby shower and she knows how we all are sticklers for tradition. So she would likely believe that we are planning to formally declare her as our mate.”
Sam sighs. “I have already done that.”
“Then tell her you were thinking about letting Katie plan a renewal of your vows,” I suggest.
“Good idea because Gran did tell her that we could do a more traditional one,” he chuckles, “Because I rushed ours.”
“Now that all of that is settled, I am taking off this shirt,” Brandon says.
“Don’t you dare!” Katie exclaims.
Brandon huffs, “I will wear it for the baby shower. Until then, it will live in my dresser.”
Katie starts to mumble and soon Brandon has pink tips in his hair. We struggle not to laugh. We will allow him to discover that addition all on his own. “Okay, now everyone go and try not to reveal too much.”
