***Gran’s POV***
In all of the commotion, I heard the guys and Morgan but not Eva. Where is she? What happened? If she were injured, I would feel it surely even in this void of nothingness. As I walk, I am close to my body, but I can't see it. I can only feel it though. Then I hear Eva yell the word ‘enough.’ Did something prevent her from stopping them sooner? But what? At least she's there now to prevent them from doing something they will regret, especially Sam.
No matter how strong Sam is, his heart holds so much regret. I know that he blames himself for surviving that night. He may be a tough leader but he has a heart of pure gold. He has a light in him too that no one else does except for maybe Eva. I know that if I can't make it back into my body to tell her what I just learned, she will figure it out. I know that she doesn't see herself as a mother, but she is a mother to us all. As I am resigning myself to be trapped here, I see a light appear and a glowing rope flying towards me. I grab it, and at that moment I feel complete. Memories flash before my eyes as I am hurtled into the blinding light. This is my chance to get back to them and tell them all that I have learned. It might be my only chance too so I won't let go no matter what I am being pulled toward.
***End POV***
I fell backward as all of the light we put into Gran came flooding back at us. Sam caught me.
He kisses the top of my head, “l always will catch you.”
Simon asks, “What was that?”
“A soul cleansed and reborn,” I am struggling a bit and I couldn't keep everyone cocooned anymore. My vampire mates approach Sam and me and wrap me in their embrace.
Eric sighs, “Sam, I am sorry. I saw us all after Gran's shroud was lifted so I thought everything would be fine. I was stupid to assume. I am truly sorry.”
Vlad lets out a breath as he nuzzles into my hair, “Man, none of us wanted this outcome.”
Vincent kisses me but pulls back abruptly, “Six hours! Eva, you were unconscious for six hours!”
I know that he fears that I won't return, but I have to because I have so much to exist for, “I am fine.”
Vincent sighs, “That's a lie,” as he bites into his wrist and presses it to my lips, “Drink. You must replenish yourself.”
I took a few mouthfuls before I pushed his arm away. His blood tastes different too. It still tastes like sweet, salted caramel but not as strong. I look over at Gran. Did some of his essence help create our son as bits of Sam helped create Guinevere?
I look at Gran’s lifeless body with tears streaming down my face, “I tried. Forgive me.”
Her eyelids began to flutter before they opened. There's clarity in them as well as a resolve. She smiles brightly, “Dearie, there is nothing to forgive.”
“Gran!” I exclaimed as I used my super speed to give her a hug. I pulled back slightly as I looked over every inch of her face.
She kissed my cheek, “I am fine now. I am also me once more. But I believe that you know that,” She put my hand on my stomach and then covered it with hers, “You are starting to listen to your pups.”
“Guinevere.”
Gran nods, “She didn't find me in the In-between but my husband, son, and daughter-in-law did. I also know that all of the lost will be reborn.”
Vincent looks around, “l am confused.”
Morgan shakes her head, “Boy! You all have somehow put the White Wolf together again. Now keep up.”
Gabriel gasps, “It's impossible, even a World Eater said so.”
“Gabe, I heard Guinevere when I passed out. My mates had bits of her soul in their blood somehow.”
Gran nods, “Sam, you had the most because of the night of that wreck.”
Sam asks, “What do you mean? I most likely caused them to get distracted and wreck, making them easier prey for Hunters.”
She told us about her time in the In-between and what the void of silence was like and everything that she was told as well as all of the memories that flooded her when she grabbed onto the portions of her soul that Sam and I spread throughout her body. She looks at Sam, “I am proud of you for embracing the magic that is within you.” She looks at all of us in this room, “You all had a bit before The White Wolf bestowed her gifts. Finding Eva and becoming bound to her didn't just bind your hearts. It bound your souls.”
Morgan cocks her head, “Even if that is true and my mate will return, what is Raven planning?”
“She doesn't just hope to become a god, she wants to resurrect one.”
Eric looks at us with concern, “Who?”
“I don't know.”
Gran thinks for a moment, “If we can find any of the witches that were after bits of The White Wolf's soul,” She looks at her grandsons and then me and my mates, “You all can extract their memories. No known magic could stop you all.”
“Dalton! We need Dalton!” When I fought Dalton, I sensed that he could be manipulated. He was so quick to try and blindside me that he failed to look at the whole picture just as I bet that he is doing now. He wants what all of his kind do, to mate.
Chris asks, “Why?”
I grin, “He will lead us to Raven and any witches who aid her and he won't realize that he's doing it either.”
