Eternally Bound Chapter 11: Fathers

Gabriel just revealed that he's our uncle and that Cassius and I are twins with different fathers. Is the pull that I felt towards him because of the twin bond?

Cassius shakes his head in disbelief, “This can't be!”

Gabriel puts his hand on Cass’s shoulder, “I assure you it is.”

“How, though?”

Gabriel explains, “Your mother didn't see a person for what they were but rather who they were,” He motioned around before continuing, “It seems that you have taken after her, Eva. Your mates are all vastly different and are not the same being as you either. Yet you all fit together perfectly and have not just strengthened each other but transformed as well. Last I checked vampires don't possess elemental magic.”

Vlad retorts, “There are recessive traits though that allows it like me for example.”

Gabriel nods, “Yes, but not the ability to make a shield out of air. So what can you all do?”

They all look at me. “Like I fucking knew that any of this would or could happen!”

Katie asks, “So since Eva is a pure Goddess, what is Cassius?”

Gabriel says, “He is a God if he chooses to accept it. Cassius your true father was Pushan, but you may know him by another name. Perhaps Pan or Hermes or Faunus or Mercury are more well-known. He is the god of meeting. Pushan is responsible for marriages, journeys, roads, and the feeding of cattle. He was a psychopomp (soul guide), conducting souls to the other world too. He is known as the protector of animals as well. Why he can shift into any beast.” He looks between Cassius and me, “You both shift but Eva uses magic to do it while Cassius that ability is just in you.”

Katie looks at Sam, “Sam is that why you hate when she uses magic?”

Sam looks away, “No. Magic is why my grandfather and my parents are dead.”

Gabriel thinks for a second before he says, “That's not completely true.”

Sam asks, “How do you know?”

Gabriel replies, “When I was the Tree of Life and Pain, Ielele would bring me men. I would consume their souls and with that their memories.”

Katie gasps, “Whoa, the things you must have seen!”

Gabriel nods, “Yes, good and bad and everything in between too.”

Amira adds, “We only got flashes.”

“Same after I was imprisoned in Purgatory,” Levi says.

Gabriel puts his hand on Levi’s broad shoulder, “I'm sorry about that. As you can see, even Angels don't treat their own kind fairly.”

“But why?”

Gabriel admits solemnly, “Power. The more beings that believed in the powers of the Gods the less power the Angels had.”

“All of the deaths, banishments, and imprisonments are just part of some huge dick-waving contest. Ugh, men!”

He chuckles, “Yes, that's a fairly accurate assumption.”

“For fuckssake! ‘Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.’-Sun Tzu. By trying to force purity through creating further division they have already lost.”

Vincent quickly kisses me, “I love you, Eva.”

“Then fucking behave!”

“Only until we get home,” Vincent says as he chuckles.

“Home,” I said breathlessly. Vincent smiled as he leaned down to kiss me and suddenly we were all transported back to our place.

“Even your mother couldn't do that!” Gabriel said as he looked around.

How am I capable of doing something that my mother, who was a goddess, couldn't do? Why am I so different?
