They are here. Where's Jax
Thalia’s POV
When I woke up, Rhys was still fast asleep. My eyes stayed focused on his peaceful face. Before I knew what I was doing, my hand had already moved on its own.
I traced his perfectly carved brows, then moved to his sharp jawline. My hand pressed his pointed nose gently, and finally my gaze fell on his plump lips.
Damn, I really didn’t want to do this, but he wouldn’t know, right? I mean, he was probably fast asleep. So I moved closer to him slowly so he wouldn’t wake up, then I placed a soft kiss on his lips.
What the hell are you doing, Thalia? Stealing a kiss while the person was asleep. I scolded myself inwardly. I was about to pull away when I felt a hand wrap around my waist, pulling me closer.
My eyes widened as they darted to Rhys’s face. His eyes were wide open, looking down at me. My face flushed red instantly. Shit, I was caught red-handed.
“Good morning,” I whispered with a sheepish smile.
Rhys just stared at my face. “Why did you stop?” he asked with a straight face. Then I felt his hand move lower before settling on my naked ass.
My mouth hung open. “You… let me go now!” I bellowed as I tried to move away from him. But Rhys still dragged me closer.
“You started it. And now you want to leave me like this?” He said with a pout while pointing to his already rock-hard cock.
My hand flew to my mouth as my eyes darted from his rod to his face. No, never. Rhys can’t deceive me because what the hell, we literally made love till sunrise, and I was damn sure I hadn’t slept for long. And now he wanted to do it again.
I exhaled. “Aren’t you tired?” I asked with a staring at him.
However, he just shook his head. “How could I be tired of you? Have you seen you, Thalia?” he said as he placed his head on my boobs.
Suddenly, I felt his tongue lick my tits. My body jolted as I took in a sharp breath.
I moved slightly. “I’m sore, Rhys,” I whispered, and that seemed to get his attention because he raised his head immediately and looked at my face.
“You’re sore, wait, was I too rough? Are you feeling pain down there?” he threw questions at me with a serious expression.
I wanted to laugh at how fast his mood changed, but I held it in. If I laughed, he would probably think I was lying, which I wasn’t.
“Yes,” I whispered, making his eyes widen. “But it’s not that kind of pain you think,” I added before he got the wrong idea.
Yet, Rhys’s brows still furrowed in confusion.
I sighed. “It’s called sweet pain,” I murmured, then added, “Also, I’m starving and I need to bathe,” I said as I climbed off the bed, taking the opportunity to escape.
I quickly went into the restroom and locked it. Well, I don't want Rhys coming in.
When I realized he wasn’t coming, I walked toward the bathtub and soaked myself in the warm water for a few minutes.
After showering, I wore a plain shirt before going to bed. Immediately I came out, the smell of fresh baked bread swirled around.
My gaze went straight to the food arranged on the table.
“How? Did you call them?” I asked Rhys, who nodded at me.
“Yeah, it’s past breakfast time. They said they were here earlier, but no one answered when they knocked,” Rhys said as he scratched the back of his neck.
My mouth formed an O. We both knew why the door wasn’t opened. I walked to where the food was and sat on the chair.
“I will quickly take a shower and come back,” Rhys said as he tried to peck my lips.
I dodged, glaring at him. “You haven’t brushed your teeth,” I said with a sly smile while he stared at me in astonishment.
Well, I knew I had kissed him while he was asleep. Was he even sleeping? Well, I didn’t know. Call me petty, but this was my revenge.
Then he turned. My gaze followed him. I wanted to laugh at the way he was sulking as he walked to the restroom. He is so cute.
Discarding the thought, I exhaled as I rubbed my tummy. If Rhys doesn't come out in the next few minutes, I might just eat without him.
I waited, checking the time. There was a chance we would be released today. I just couldn’t wait. I missed everyone.
If I was with him, Milo would have frustrated my life, and Blaze would have forced me to train my power. Well, I think Jax is the only cool one out of all of them. He doesn't stress me.
Lost in thought, that I didn't know Rhys was done until I felt him tap my shoulder lightly.
I jolted slightly, “What are you thinking about?” he asked as he sat across from me.
I sighed, scratching the side of my face. “I miss home,” I whispered with slumped shoulders.
I saw Rhys also sigh. “Well, I didn’t. Or maybe a little,” he said with a small smile. Then he picked his cutlery.
I glared at him. “Why did you say that?” I asked, folding my hands on my chest.
He dropped the knife. “You’re here, and that’s enough. But I miss my brothers a tiny bit,” he said as he used his hand to show me how tiny he missed them.
I shook my head and decided to let the matter go. We both started eating in silence.
Eventually we finished all the food, or will I say I cleared all of them.
“I’m so full,” I murmured, placing my hand on my round belly.
Rhys just laughed. “I thought you were going to eat me too for a second,” he said, which made me look at the empty plates. Indeed, I ate a lot.
I stood and walked slowly to the bed. “I think I need a quick nap,” I whispered as I climbed the bed.
Rhys walked up to me. “You don’t sleep immediately after you finish eating,” Rhys said, pulling me to sit up.
I pouted. I was so tired and full. Can’t he just let me sleep? I folded my hands on my chest. “So what do you want me to do now?” I asked, glaring at him.
He clamped his hands together, then left and came back shortly with a book.
“I will read a story for you,” he said while already climbing the bed. He sat behind me.
I sighed before resting my back on his chest with the book in his hand. He started reading, and honestly, I couldn’t concentrate. I mean, who would? I just wanted to lie down and sleep, not read a freaking book.
My eyes darted around, suddenly the clock on the wall caught my eyes, making me take a deep breath.
“Do you think they will meet up with the deadline?” I asked, cutting Rhys off while he was reading.
I felt his hand rub my arms. “I believed they would,” he said with a firm voice.
I turned and looked at his face. “How come you’re so certain?” I asked him with a raised brow.
He smiled as he dropped the book. He cupped my cheeks. “Because I believed in their capability and my gut feeling,” Rhys said with a smile.
I frowned when he pinched my cheek out of nowhere. I slapped his hand away.
“I want to sleep,” I said, already lying beside him on the bed with my eyes closed. And thankfully, he didn’t stop me this time.
Dozing off, I felt his hand wrap around my waist. I didn’t even care to open my eyes. I just drifted off to dreamland.
It was the constant knock on the door that woke us up. Rhys groaned before he got up and went to the door. While I just stretched my arms on the bed.
This was why I liked taking a nap. It cleared my head and gave me new energy.
I saw Rhys walking to me with a wide smile. “We are leaving now,” he said as he placed his hand on my head.
My eyes widened. “Really?” I was almost yelling. Rhys just nodded at me with a smile.
“Blaze is waiting outside,” he said as he moved to the closet to get his clothes.
I danced as I followed him . We can’t wear the council court clothes home, so we changed into our clothes before leaving the room.
Walking outside, I saw Blaze standing beside the car, deeply engrossed in the phone in his hand.
I ran to where he was, pulling him into a tight hug. “I miss you,” I whispered before looking up at his face.
He smiled briefly. “I miss you too,” he said curtly before placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.
We all climbed into the car. “Where are the rest?” Rhys was the first to ask, making my attention shift to Blaze.
My gaze caught the way he clenched his fist before he answered. “They’re home,” he said. Then he remained silent throughout the ride.
I found it quite suspicious. I knew Blaze didn’t talk much, but the way he behaved was as if he was trying to hide something.
Finally, we got home. My face lit up as I rushed to the living room. My gaze darted around the people.
“You’re here,” I heard Father’s weak voice. My eyes shifted to Milo, who rested his head on his hand with his eyes closed. However, Jax was nowhere to be found.
A frown settled on my face instantly. “Is there a problem?” I asked in a low voice.
I could see the way their eyes widened, but they kept mute. That act alone confirmed my suspicious, there was something wrong.
“Where’s Jax?” I asked suddenly, making all of them give me a stiff reaction.
Without waiting for their response, I made my way to Jax’s room.
On getting there my hand pushed open the door, and the scene I saw made my legs give out as I collapsed on the floor.
