A WHIRLWIND OF EMOTIONS
A WHIRLWIND OF EMOTIONS
They arrived at a restaurant, where Rishabh escorted Avani to a private dining room he had reserved entirely for them. It was empty, and the sense of exclusivity added to the intensity of the moment. Rishabh pulled out a chair for Avani, and after she settled down, he took the seat opposite to her. The waiter appeared, presenting a beautiful cake in front of Avani.
Rishabh came to her side, holding a knife, and encouraging her, "Come on!" he said, handing her the knife. Avani hesitated for a moment, a lone tear escaping her eye. She quickly wiped it away, and Rishabh gently squeezed her hand as she cut the cake. They fed each other, a ritual that felt both familiar and achingly sweet. After the cake, Rishabh sat back down, taking her hand in his.
"Avani, let's have dinner first, and then we can talk," he said softly. She nodded in agreement, and they enjoyed their meal in the intimate setting. The waiter discreetly cleared their plates, and Rishabh instructed not to be disturbed. Soft music played in the background, adding to the romantic atmosphere.
"May I have this dance with this gorgeous girl?" Rishabh asked, reaching out for her hand. Avani placed her hand in his, allowing him to draw her closer. His hands settled around her waist, and she placed her hands on his shoulders, locking their eyes in a silent exchange.
"I know you have so many questions for me. I may not have all the answers, but please believe me, everything I did, I did to protect you," he pleaded, his eyes reflecting pain, curiosity, and a depth of emotion she couldn't entirely decipher. "I'm so sorry, Avani. Believe me, I felt the pain too over this past year. It was like a death sentence for me to stay away from you, not touching you, not kissing you, not holding you in my arms. I understand the pain I caused you, but give me a chance to prove my love. Seeing you like this, shattered, broke my heart. Please, baby," he whispered, his knuckles brushing against her cheeks, his desperation palpable.
He locked his eyes with her, his gaze piercing her soul. He uttered those three words that held so much weight: "I love you." gently kissing her forehead. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she looked down, closing her eyes to contain her emotions. The floodgates couldn't be held back, and she couldn't resist the overwhelming emotions that were surging through her.
Avani embraced him tightly, clutching him as if her life depended on it. It caught him off guard, but Rishabh reciprocated immediately, enfolding her in a warm and secure embrace. He pressed a soft kiss to her neck, and they remained like that for a while. Eventually, they broke the hug, and Rishabh cupped her cheeks, tenderly wiping away her tears. However, Avani still couldn't bring herself to confess her feelings.
Doubts gnawed at her. 'What if he was lying again? What if he would break her heart once more?'
"Look at me. Look into my eyes. You'll only find yourself there," he said, his gaze locked onto hers. Leaning in, he brushed her lips with a gentle peck, causing a shiver to run down her spine as his warm breath fanned her mouth.
The rain poured down, a sudden deluge, as if the skies had decided to release all their pent-up emotions at once. Avani, lost in her thoughts, walked slowly towards the rain, her mind in a whirlwind of confusion. She extended her hand, letting the raindrops fall onto her skin, while her eyes fixed on the water collected in her palm. Her mind was a battleground, torn between trust and scepticism.
Meanwhile, the valet brought Rishabh's car. Avani settled into the passenger seat, lost in her contemplation. Rishabh, avoiding the rain as much as he could, hurried to the driver's seat. Rain was something he didn't particularly enjoy, but for Avani, it was a different story; she loved the rain, and always found solace in its downpour. And tonight, it seemed the rain mirrored their emotions - a tumultuous, uncertain mix of feelings.
The drive back was silent, the unspoken tension was palpable in the air. They arrived near Avani's society gate, neither of them ready to part ways. Explanations hung in the air, yet no words were spoken. Avani opened the car door, stepping out into the pouring rain. The night was silent with the only sound of the rhythmic drumming of raindrops on the pavement. Her mind was a chaotic mess, torn between trusting her heart and heeding the warnings of her mind. What should she do?
Closing her eyes, she let the rain engulf her, soaking her to the bone. Folding her arms across her chest, she stood there, seeking answers from the universe. Her thoughts lost in the rhythm of the rain.
Rishabh approached her, completely drenched. His gaze was intense, focused on her lips. The heat in his eyes sent shivers down her spine. His shirt clung to his body and revealed the contours of his form. Strands of his wet hair were plastered against his forehead, accentuating the rawness of the moment.
His eyes were searching for something in her gaze...something that would confirm his hopes, his desires. The rain cascaded around them, with a curtain of waterdrops enclosed them in their private world. With gentle hands, he turned her face to meet his, his palms cradled her cheeks, while warmth of his touch mingled with the cool raindrops.
Their eyes locked, a silent conversation passing between them, unspoken words heavy in the humid air. His hot breath caressed her lips, an intimate touch, that sent her heart into a frenzy of beats. His eyes, those deep pools of emotion, held a mix of pain, regret, and an overwhelming love and adoration. Did he still love her as she did him? The uncertainty hung between them, a thick fog in the rain.
"May I?" he asked in soft voice, reminiscent of the first time, he kissed her.
Avani closed her eyes. In that moment, he claimed her lips, his kiss tender yet desperate, as if trying to capture lost time. The kiss deepened, a passionate entanglement of lips and souls, as if they were trying to erase the past, to rewrite their story with this single kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, her fingers entwined in his wet hair. Every fibre of her being wanted to forget the pain, the anger, the agony – to simply drown in the love she felt for him.
But amidst the storm of their emotions, her mind fought its own battle.
Doubts and fears resurfaced – 'What if he broke my heart again? What if he leaves me once more, shattered and alone? What if this was all a lie?'
Breaking the kiss, she pressed her hands to her lips, her breaths heavy and laboured. He looked at her, his eyes searching hers for answers, but she couldn’t give him what he sought.
The battle between her heart and mind raged on, leaving her torn between desire and self-preservation.
