LIFE WITHOUT HIM...contind
The following morning,

Avani embarked on her daily routine. With careful precision, she showered and washed away the remnants of the night's turbulent thoughts. As the morning light filtered through her window, she stood before the mirror, her fingers brushing through her recently shortened hair, now falling gracefully just above her waist. The decision to cut them, though little bit courageous, but it made them manageable for her.

With her laptop bag slung over her shoulder, Avani joined Smriti, who was locking their apartment door. Together, they stepped into the bustling day. The city hummed with life as they navigated through its maze of streets with the car engine echoed their determination.

Upon arriving at the office building, they descended into the basement, where vibrant banners adorned the walls, proudly declaring the day's event: a guest lecture titled “Passion and Achievement” in bold, captivating letters. The promise of inspiration hung in the air, and Avani's curiosity grew as she anticipated the surprises the day held.

Avani quickly read the announcement and rushed towards the elevator. Waving to Smriti, she made her way to the 5th floor where her desk was located.

On her floor, while heading towards her desk, she encountered with Tushar and Vijay, her team manager and senior manager. Avani always felt uncomfortable around them; their inappropriate behaviour and unwelcome advances had been an ongoing issue. Despite numerous complaints made by other female staff members to Human Resource Department, they continued their behaviour shamelessly.

It was afternoon, and the Townhall meeting was already underway. Avani was stuck in a lengthy meeting that seemed never-ending. After what felt like an eternity, her meeting finally concluded. In a rush, she responded to Smriti's urgent messages about the upcoming guest lecture

'I am coming, just finished my meeting…' Avani texted back hurriedly.

'Okie Dokie… Guest lecture starts in 10 mins, Come soon!' Smriti's reply popped up on her phone screen.

'Okay, coming…' Avani quickly sent her response. She swiftly packed her laptop, slid her phone into her pocket, adjusted her glasses, and

made a quick stop at the restroom. After a brief glance in the mirror, she tidied her hair with her hands, securing it at the top of her head with a few loose strands framing her fac

With her laptop in hand, Avani hurried towards the auditorium room, determined not to miss the start of the guest lecture.

Rushing out of the washroom, Avani was filled with a sense of urgency. Time was slipping away, and the guest lecture had already commenced over twelve minutes ago. Her stilettos echoed loudly in the empty corridor; each click reverberating with her mounting anxiety. She could not help but question her choice of footwear on this particular day.

‘What a day I choose to wear these?’ She wondered rolling her eyes.

Balancing her laptop in one hand and checking messages on her phone with the other, she used the back of her hand to adjust her glasses. As she entered the auditorium, her attention was absorbed by the glowing screen of her device.

However, when she lifted her gaze, her heart leaped into her throat, and a seismic shockwave coursed through her body. There, at the podium, stood a figure that had haunted her dreams and memories for the past year, a figure she had never expected to see again. He was accompanied by three other individuals seated in VIP chairs, including the India Head of their MNC.
